Hate not giving these folks a 4 or a 5. Went here for Saturday lunch looking for the Monte Cristo and the amazing macaroni salad. Alas, the Monte Cristo is no longer on the menu and today they did not have their macaroni salad. Instead I had the Cuban and it was excellent. The sweet potato waffle fries were awful and severely over cooked. My wife had the black bean burger and it was bad. It disintegrated after one bite. She had to eat the little more she could with a fork and knife. She had the same problem with the waffle fries I had. Both of our kids had the kids hot dogs and fries. They were good. I tried the regular fries that came with the kids meal and they were really good. One of or guests had a full bowl of black bean soup and enjoyed it. Our other two guests had the salmon salad and the calamari as entrees. Both were good. Service was nice but we ran out of drinks many times. This used to be the Med Deli and have probably been here 50 times since the late 90s. This was our first visit since returning to Charleston after a 7 year absence. It is now under new ownership and today was the first day after the holiday break so we will try them again to see if today was just an off day.

We ate there yesterday and had a great time and awesome food. Out with friends to enjoy Charleston we had a few beers, several appetizers and for me a black bean burger that was delicious. We all loved the spinach and artichoke dip– a huge helping enough for 6 of us. Last but not least was the tomato pie.

This place is in the same location as the Med Deli, then Med Bistro, but was bought out and under new ownership, another slight name change and new menu, don’t know why there isn’t a new entry on Unilocal. Came here for lunch as I liked it back in the day of the Med Deli. I was there shortly after opening, and several other patrons were already there. I ordered the Fried Flounder sandwich with regular fries. Waitress said everything was prepared fresh, and as locally sourced as possible. I inquired about their listed tater tots as a side and she said, except those. I will say the flounder was lightly fried, but a little greasy. The regular fries(they also had sweet potato fries), were also a little greasy, limp, and some were slightly under cooked. The bread for the sandwich had been toasted on the grill, which I liked. I did see other dishes passing my table that looked better, so will be back.
