This is a great divey taco place with some of the best tacos in the area. Parking here is a pain because it is on a busy road with strip mall style parking but beyond that this is a great lunch place.

You could say I’m on The Taco Spot diet because I probably average eating here 5 times a week. Their crunchy corn shells are great! Anything with the blackened chicken or fish with the cayenne ranch is delicious(if you like spicy)! The Med taco is Fantastic!!! Chicken, Greek vinaigrette, banana peppers, feta, and pico together seem like a weird combination for a taco, but it’s amazing. Definitely a Taco Spot staple. It’s a great place to be a regular; everyone who works there is so nice and down to earth!

Disappointing first try. The tacos were soggy and not very flavorful. Expected a lot more authenticity.

Service was pretty quick and people were friendly. Took credit card. Food was not bad, but not great. Kind of bland. Soggy rice. Good chips with tasty/salty seasoning, but guacamole just tasted kind of like a mashed up avocado without any other ingredients. Good prices($ 38 for three of us to have a burrito/taco, chips and large guac, and a drink). Place was clean. Parking situation kind of tricky – faces diagonally in one direction along a busy highway. Not a ton of parking, either.

What’s not to like about this place? The food was fast and fresh(I got the steak taco salad with tomatillo salsa). The servers were kind and the music was somehow all my favorites back-to-back! Prefer this place immensely over Yo-Bo. The prices seemed more than fair. The parking is definitely harrowing… I’d try for the side street and skip the frontage parking all together.(They are definitely making the best of a less than ideal parking situation).

Excellent food and even better drink menu! You can trust Devin’s suggestions if you are first timer, or if you want to try something new. They recently expanded the restaurant and it makes for an enjoyable experience!

So my ex took me here. It’s fast and really casual, lots of outdoor seating and good drinks.

Had vegetarian hard taco & large guacamole with house margarita. All were excellent! Really good pineapple poblano relish with chips!

Excellent house margaritas and I’m picky about margaritas. Fresh lime juice used and not too sweet. Awesome guacamole. Fresh veggie tacos and reasonably priced.

Went to The Taco Spot on a Friday night around 6:30. No wait and no problem getting in and out quickly. Ordered the Black and Blue, fish taco, steak, Caribbean and the Sweat Thai. Everything was fresh, fast and delicious. Enjoyed every bite! I’ll be coming back for sure!

Roasted chicken Quesadilla was pretty good! I just wish it was a little bit bigger and had more pico inside of it. The hot salsa was very good and fresh tasting. I ordered to go and they were pretty fast!

It was decent. Now I’m not trying to be that guy, but growing up in LA where exotic tacos are everywhere these did not blow me away. The blackened fish tacos were good, being completely honest they were well flavored and satisfying. The biggest drawback for me is I didn’t see or have a taco worth the $ 3 price tag. For that cost I was expecting an out of this world experience. Again, having good to great tacos in LA for half the price this was a put off. Would I go again, maybe for another team function. But to go for average tacos on my own, probably not. I was also put off by the fact that they couldn’t make a taco into a burrito. I mean put what’s in the taco in a soft wrapped tortilla nix the lettuce and up charge me if need be.

OK, better experience all other times there. It was just a bad day for my first review. I really think they have very tasty tacos and are a great place to pick up a quick Mexican fix! I will be back.

What have I been missing?! I absolutely love this place. Despite the harrowing parking situation, once you are in you are magically transported to a mexi paradise. The have recently expanded their eating space so there are many places to sit. The service is excellent, even light jokes, happy people cooking in the back. Very clean. Very warm atmosphere. The menu spans the globe of infused flavored. My taste buds travelled to Greece for in the Med taco, and then jumped down to the Caribbean. Spot on with both cultural flavors. Arguably the best Mexican in West Ash, maybe even Charleston, the foodie Capitol of the world!

I’ll have to update this review when I dine in, but 4 stars for my breakfast burrito last Sunday morning! It is so hard to find any form of Mexican food in Charleston, let alone Mexican food open on a Sunday morning! The burrito was the perfect size, had bacon, eggs, cheese, potatoes and chili(I think, my boyfriend ordered while I waited in the car). Even after a 15 minute drive home, it was still warm, and delicious! I will return!

Not good. Fish was mushy, guac was bland. All was bland… even the chips. Not the most jovial place either. Thank you for the response. I’d be happy to give you another shot.

It was okay. I would probably not get the soft flour tacos.

I just ordered lunch from here yesterday for the first time and I could not have been more pleased. Since I use Quickfoxes, this review is only for the food! I had two soft tacos, one with blackened chicken and one with their pulled pork. HOLYCOW — that pork taco was maybe the yummiest taco I’ve ever consumed. And they are so affordable for lunch! The chicken taco was still good, but the meat was a teensy bit dry. All the fixins’ tasted super fresh, which is always a plus! Are the tacos the most beautiful thing to look at? No, but I promise — you won’t mind! Definitely adding them to my lunch rotation.

Let me tell you why I love The Taco Spot. 1) THEYAREOPENONSUNDAY. In Charleston, Souf Kerolina, this is a BIGDEAL. 2) They have AWESOME breakfast tacos!!! 3) They have online ordering and a mobile app. So…as I write this, I am placing an order online for breakfast tacos and yep, you guess it, it’s SUNDAY! Thank you thank you thank you Taco Spot for being progressive and opening on Sunday so we can enjoy your delicious food. Even if the breakfast tacos were subpar(they aren’t; they’re reall good) I would still be a patron simply because you’re just about the only place that’s open that has good craveable food on a Sunday. The service is always quick & friendly, and I enjoy being able to place an order online or via the app and pop in/pop out conveniently. The migas tacos are amazing and the regular breakfast tacos + black beans are my jam. Add some bacon if you want to take it up a notch. Protip: They are in the Belly network, so you can download the app, scan their code when you order, and get points or something.

I needed to run to West Ashley today and since I’ve had the Taco Spot on the brain, I figured this was the perfect opportunity for me to give it a try. The menu offers A LOT so I quickly read thru the Unilocal tips as I stood in line to help make my decision. I picked the original fish taco in a crunchy corn shell and the daily special, the Barnyard Scrabble in a flour tortilla. The fish taco was awesome. That cilantro soy aioli on the fish is delicious. The Barnyard Scrabble was not as successful for me. The chicken, bacon, potatoes, cheese, and fresh flour tortilla were fine, but the egg was way over cooked. I don’t know if it’s b/c I got it to-go or not, but I just took it off the taco and didn’t eat it. A lot of the reviews talk about the small portions, but it was the perfect size for me as I always end up wasting food when the portion sizes are too big. Plus it’s $ 3 a pop, for fresh ingredients! That’s a great deal for the portion size in my book so I’ll definitely be back.
