I could right a long review about them, but honestly you just have to try them. Boiled peanuts are one of my favorite snacks and these are hands down the best.

One of the best snacks of the South! Coming from Australia I’d never even heard of boiled peanuts and my first experience(elsewhere) was lacklustre and didn’t entice me. Then came Timbo’s Cajun Peanuts and holy-moly were they good! Every time I visit family in the area I make a stop at Timbo’s, both for Cajun and Plain!

Timbo is the man. Jalapeño flavor is awesome. Ham is fantastic. Regular is sublime. Up north folks go to a tarot card reader or a psychic to get answers(if they don’t go to church). Down south, we go to our boiled peanut man. He tells us what is what. Timbo knows!

The peanuts are a little pricey at $ 4.25/lb and I didn’t get the«charming» experience everyone raves about. He was polite but not what I would call charming. The peanuts were delicious though and hands down the best Cajun peanuts I have had.

My first boiled peanut experience. We got the Cajun and regular flavors. Everything was as expected. The charm and conversation made it all the much better.

We hit every boiled peanut stand we came across during our stay in Charleston, but Timbo’s was definitely our favourite. His peanuts were piping hot and insanely tasty, he’s got a hell of a personality, he’s got the sweetest Australian shepherd as a companion, and his trailer’s been styled to look like a(you guessed it!) peanut. Top that! It’s been weeks now, but I’m still dreaming about Timbo’s boiled peanuts.

Great Cajun Boiled Peanuts. Timbo really knows how to cook’em, he is friendly and his dog Max is just as welcoming. Defiantly worth the 15 minute drive from downtown Charleston.

It is a boiled peanut stand shaped like a peanut along Ashley River Road. It is lit up at night too. Go ahead, stop by and chat with Timbo for a while. Why not? What, you’ve never had a boiled peanut? My only advice is to make sure you have a large glass of water nearby, because they are incredibly salty and incredibly addictive. As a bonus, the produce stand slash firework hut next door is open sometimes. Go ahead and say hello. I never buy the produce, because it seems like maybe they just get it from the grocery store, but I always buy some fireworks. They told me they could get me a quarter mile of firecrackers for less than $ 80. Hmm…

We love Timbo’s boiled peanuts so much! There are other places in town, but no one compares to Timbo’s! Ham is my favorite flavor by far. Timbo is so personable and makes a point to chat with every customer. Stop by and say hi to Timbo! :)

We love boiled peanuts and we always visit timbos on our yearly vacation to SC. The best boiled peanuts weve ever had! We get a bag of the cajun and a bag of the ham and they are always gone by the end of the day. Keep up the good work timbo!

I first fell in love with boiled peanuts about 5 years ago, when I discovered Timbo’s while visiting a friend in Charleston. It’s all Timbo does, and he does it right. Boiled peanuts only, by the pound, in three different flavors. They’re all good– regular is regular, cajun is with the spicy kick of jalapenos, and ham flavored is my personal favorite– still vegetarian but with liquid smoke thrown in. Yum. If you haven’t had boiled peanuts before, you might be surprised by the texture(soft and tender like a cooked bean) but peanuts are legumes after all! And be careful, they are just as addictive to eat as roasted peanuts. Don’t miss out while visiting the Charleston area. Look for the big orange peanut.
