Wow. Walked in to check the place out. Person working said two words to us the entire time we were there. Was planning to at least buy a stick, possibly more. Didn’t seem to care that we were there, just went about his routine as though we weren’t. Apparently the club that used to be there, Club Habana, is no longer open. When I mentioned it, all I got is «there is no club.» Silly me considering the club’s name is still listed on the awning out front. I get the distinct feeling he thought we were tourists because there was a cruise ship in town, but treating anyone, especially locals, like this is unacceptable. I’ll never go back. Besides, this place will soon meet the same fate as Club Habana.

The Smoking Lamp in Marion Square closes at 10pm most nights(pansy time) so the Tinder Box is where those who want to finish a night with a great cigar or cognac go. There is a bar upstairs where you can«smokeasy» and a lounge downstairs with a well-stocked group of humidors. Conveniently located on Meeting, nearby everything. PS I don’t smoke cigarettes, but my friends who do say Nat Shermans are the best of the best, and they’ve got every Nat Sherman type I’ve ever seen.

Solid selection, helpful employees, decent prices. They did have pre-embargo Cubans as well, and though they weren’t cheap($ 20 – 25), they were delicious. Worth checking out for the Cubans alone. Also they have a little bar/cigar lounge upstairs which was pretty cool.
