This place in one word: terrible. Food: overpriced, underseasoned, tiny portions. I don’t know how you can make short rib taste bad, but they somehow managed it Drinks: Again, I really did not know you could make a «bad» margarita, but they pulled it off again. So disgustingly sweet. Asked for salt both times, did not get it either time. Service: Someone was in training with our server, so I feel bad ripping on them, but I feel worse for the trainee, because she will be in a world of trouble if she learns too much from our server. Place was virtually empty, but we were left waiting for drinks, appetizers, entrees, FOREVER. We probably would have gotten 2 more drinks a piece if she could have bothered to tear herself away from whatever gripping conversation she was having with the line cooks. Avoid at all cost.

I’ve been to the Boston location a few times. Meh about describes it. You go to have margaritas and crappy Mex-tex food. This one was no different. We went on a Saturday for early dinner and it was all families and mostly empty. Our waitress was really nice, but awful. She didn’t know the menu at all(told me the cochina tacos had mahi mahi in them) and messed up a few things. But she was nice. I started off w a Rona-Rita and everyone else the house margaritas. They felt the margaritas were too sweet and weak. They tried mine and liked that the corona dulled some of the sweetness — in a good way. I liked it. We got some guacamole and chips to start. The guacamole is solid. I got a mixed beef/chicken fajita. It was Meh. There was about half the food any other Mexican place gives you for a margarita. Which made it a reasonable meal for one person as opposed to an inhuman amount — but I didn’t take home a second meal, which I normally like. The beef(very fatty) and chicken were flavorful. Otherwise the cheese, shredded iceburg lettuce, sour cream, rice, and beans were all out of a can. It didn’t come with guacamole or peppers, just some onions. Food and drinks were fine — but not better than Meh.

Fresh guacamole? I found a small pice of PLASTIC in my daughter’s mouth. Besides it didn’t taste good… The manager treated us well, but it was her last day there. Regardless… It’s so close to other restaurant options, better skip this one.

We made a quick stop in for a bite on our way along the Freedom Trail. It was pretty slow, but looked inviting. The bar tables were comfy and had lots of room. There were several TVs to watch some sports and whatnot. Service was mediocre at best, slow and lackadaisical. She spent a little more time socializing with the other bar customers and to us. I never was offered a refill on my water, had to flag down a buss boy to get some more water and silverware. The food was very good, so we were satisfied. The location and view are nice, so I might stop back in if I am in the area ever again.

This place came recommended by a friend but I think he meant a different location. Went for lunch and had the fish tacos. They came out quickly and were tasty. Also had a side guac and it’s was also good. I liked the salsa as well.

Came here for a lunch with a group, before continuing the Freedom Trail. Food was mediocre to say the least. Oh, and anything BUT authentic. The guacamole wasn’t good, and the fajitas were… meh… No flavor, no taste… Everything was mediocre. One of us had the«filet mignon» fajitas, some $ 6 more than the skirt steak fajitas; but it wasn’t filet mignon; not in Mexico, not here in the US, anywhere! But the cherry on the cake came with the check. Our apathetic waitress had marked with an «x» where I should fill in the blanks: TIP, total and signature. I’ve had bad food and bad service before, but having the check marked so the client would not«forget» to tip… that was a first.

Don’t expect authentic south-of-the-border fare. Expect alcohol and decent food to absorb it. If that’s all your looking for, this Rooster Father(direct translation of «Papagayo» to English. No, it doesn’t make any sense) delivers. Our large group reserved the room in the back, which came complete with 2 attentive waitresses who took each person’s card to open a tab once their first drink was ordered. This way, they could easily just charge us each for what we consumed. So much easier than(drunkenly) attempting to split a hefty bill at the end of the night. Gracias! The organization was much appreciated. Salud! Let’s talk drinks. The Margarita de La Casa(because every Tex-Mex place needs to stick some Spanish on their menu to at least sound legit) was fine and a decent size but a tad too sweet for my(very refined) palate. For bebida #2, the waitress recommended the Coconut Margarita because it’s one of the strongest options. Don’t gotta tell me twice! This baby was also sweet but lovely with honey and toasted coconut lining the rim. And she wasn’t kidding about its strength. This is a slow-sipper that could also pass as dessert. Chow down! How about the food? The guacamole was chunky and creamy although unfortunately not prepared tableside for us. The salsa was a bit on the watery side but good on flavor and came with mountains of crispy chips. The portion of the queso fundido was a bit smaller than expected and came with some soft flour tortillas for rolling, although the tortilla chips were just as tasty(and I preferred their crunch). The white, melty cheese and greasy chorizo really packed a flavor punch! are tasty As for entrees, I went with the Enchiladas Verdes, Surprisingly, the dish wasn’t green at all, as the tomatillo sauce on top of the tortillas was blanketed by a thick layer of yellow cheese. Still tasty though! The 2 chicken enchiladas were accompanied by rice, refried beans, lettuce and tomato. It was flavorful but needed some extra heat in my opinion, so I requested some hot sauce. They brought Cholula(gracias a Dios!), which was a great addition. Thinking about it, this Papa is like many fathers. He may not be the best cook, but he does what he can with what he’s got, and nothing is terrible. Most importantly, he knows how to host a good party and keeps the alcohol coming.

I’ve lived in the west coast for 20 years, I know authentic Mexican food. Basically this place is by far disgusting. They don’t have carne asada, the food has no flavor and half their dishes are not even Mexican. If you have never had Mexican they you wouldn’t know. Please don’t waste your money.
