Place is great! Hard not to get a Sixpoint Resin and the Ribeye. Great staff and some awesome live entertainment. Park at dunkins if you’re driving in, they don’t mind!

I found myself down the street from this place for work one day last week. I Unilocal’d a good lunch spot and this place came up closest. Which I’m glad it did. I had the fish and chips with a Guinness and my friend had the fish tacos with a beer as well. The ambience is kind of like a local Irish dive bar but cleaner. The servers don’t really smile too much but they’re super polite and still friendly. Overall I really liked this place. They have a pretty good beer selection and the food was good as well. If I lived closer I’d probably be a regular.

What was I thinking… five stars! The gang here are the BEST. Excellent conversation, tasty food, outstanding beer selection, and live music in an intimate setting. Our favorite trivia spot too. We LOVE the end of the world!

We were traveling from PA to Medford and needed a bite to eat before heading to our hotel. We like to explore and experience new places so Tavern at the End of the World, caught my eye. First impression was a typical, local neighborhood bar. Service is a bit slow but they let you know they will be right with you. The bartender does it all. Then the food came out… I had the burger with fresh cut fries and my wife had the grilled cheese and seafood soup. That deserved a 5 star! Tasted great, perfectly prepared, hot and wee presented! Overall, a fine dinner experience.

You can find Tavern at the End of the World at 108 Cambridge St, Charlestown, MA2129, right on the edge of Charlestown, Somerville and Bunker Hill. This tavern was recommended to us from the Holiday Inn, about two blocks away as it was within easy walking distance. My traveling companion and I checked in at the nearby Holiday Inn(blog post here) and walked to the Tavern at the End of the World for a quick lunch. This small pub has a rather nondescript exterior and if not for the sign you probably wouldn’t know it’s there. The tavern is made up of two rooms, the front featuring a full bar and the back some seating(we sat near the lit fireplace) and a small food-counter at one end. I believe t his is more of a local hangout and it was nice to take in some fare and atmosphere. The menu has several pages of bar-food options — some are more typical than others but there seemed to be a great selection. After scoping out the menu we decided on some local draft/craft — I choose a very good Harpoon Munich Ale(that was almost a porter but with a bit of hoppiness) while Sidd selected a nice Samuel Adams Crystal Pale Ale. From the menu, we went directly for items in the Hearty Fare section: Fish and Chips — fresh cod served with our hand cut fires and homemade coleslaw. This was served on a fish-shaped plate which I rather liked. The code was perfectly cooked, light, hot and moist on the inside with a good degree of crunchy breading on the outside. The fries too were quite good. The slaw was not the typical creamy slaw served in the South, rather it was a bit vinegary with the distinct flavor of red wine. I liked it quite a lot. Between it and the tartar sauce I didn’t need any malt vinegar, though there was a bottle available on all the tables. I left stuffed. Sidd ordered the Spice Curry(what else?) with vegetables — zucchini, cauliflower, squash, green and red peppers in Napolise sauce. He liked this quite a bit which I found surprising — while it was more than passable it distinctly tasted like your typical curry powder — but perhaps that was what the place was going for, more of a pub-flavor. Service was top notch with the bartender taking our order and acting as server, in a mostly empty place(there were never more than 8 – 9 people there while we ate and enjoyed our brews). Our server was quite friendly and provided some recommendations on things to do(how we found out about Bunker Hill and some live music going on to the West). More on that in subsequent posts. In all, quite a pleasurable first day in Boston! (also posted to my food blog)

Forgive me, folks, but it’s a rather standard neighborhood bar with standard pub food. My friend and I sat at the bar and had a hard time getting food service. The beer offerings were grand though. After two succulent glasses of Le Fin Du Monde, I was a damn happy customer.

We stayed ½ a mile away and decided to venture into this great pub. Fish and chips was a great snack and my boyfriend had the lamb burger which was great. We watched the football game and meet some great locals. Love the name of this bar and would go back for the downeast cider they have in tap. The reviews really helped us find this place. Highly recommend for good food and a fun Irish style pub.

Having been here twice in a week, I will say this place is good, but inconsistent. My first visit, I had the fried fish platter with cod, shrimp, and scallops. The food was GREAT. For a small pub I was expecting mediocre food but the seafood was fresh and juicy. The service was lacking and I felt a little rushed to leave. I was still eating when a to-go box was dropped off at the table along with the check. The bill came out to $ 49 and we thought it was a bit much to pay $ 8.50 each for 2 beers, one of which was a can. Second visit, the service was much better. The lobster toastie I got was just alright. There was too much bread for the amount of lobster inside. I regretted not sticking to my previous order. My beer was only $ 6 which made the first visit seem kind of shady with the bill. I think I’ll order to-go if I decide to come back.

Don’t judge a book by its cover! I was a little wary of entering in to the«Tavern at the end of the World» but I was instantly and pleasantly surprised! We were greeted by Paul who made us feel right at home! The food was amazing! The portions were very generous and delicious. Great value for money! we know where we are eating dinner tomorrow night!

This is my local. I’ve been made welcome since I walked in. Great beer selection and food that’s served til midnight. I really don’t want the place to become too hip & trendy but its location, 100 yards from Sullivan Sq T means it won’t which suits me fine. Music most nights of the week and the best jukie(no internet jukie here) since The Swan Inn in Liverpool, England. Bartenders are fun and quirky, The overly sensitive will probably cry onto their iPhone then give this place 1 star cos they didn’t have their backsides kissed after they ordered a beer

A hidden gem on the Charlestown/Somerville line. Irish pub flair and flavor and I do mean flavor. The food here is fantastic. I ordered the ribeye and it was HUGE and tasteful. Came with mashed and delish grilled asparagus. He had the fish fry consisting of cod, shrimp and scallops with house fries skin still on. He left nothing on the plate. I on the other hand took home a doggie bag because we both got the fish chowder and were happy we did. It had a smokey bacon flavor with great bit of fish and just enough potatoes and onions but the broth was spot on yummy and the two pieces of toast offered with it made sure I got ever drop. We tried the only dessert on the menu. A mars bar concoction with bananas on a waffle made into a toastie. It was good but it could of used more chocolate and less banana for my liking. Great beer selection should get you in the door. The menu will make you stay. Parking lot in the back. One tv for sports. Solid service all around. Worth it!

Last night a group of us ate at Tavern at the End of the World! We all had a great time! I had the bacon burger with grilled onions! It was perfectly done! The burger was juicy, the bacon was done but not overcooked! The fries were great made me think of Five Guys! The Beer was cold! When you are in the are check them out! May not look like much but it was good food and a good experience!
