There’s really no such thing as bad pizza, in my book. This wasn’t the best cheap local-pizza-place pizza I’ve ever had, but it was decent and edible(and I’m sure much better than the Dominoes next door!). I’ll definitely plan on returning to try the subs.

The chicken special sub is a master piece. I only wish it was open on Sundays so I could order one every single week during football.

Hands down the best cheese pizza in Charlestown, possibly Boston(it’s borderline addicting) I frequently find my self craving Toni Ann’s pizza and honestly no other pizza while satisfy my craving. If your in the area and have a chance it would be a mistake not to at least grab a slice.

Pizza is amazing! Our go-to is the pepperoni pizza and boneless buffalo wings. The prices are just right and the food is very tasty! Highly recommend.

Best pizza in the area and they sell their sauce by the quart! Granted, their hours are ridiculous for a pizza place but I guess they’ve figured that they are good enough to get away with such limited hours.

I just got what I can only call the best chicken parm sub I’ve ever gotten. I will definitely come back and reccomend this place to everyone.

Ordered from here for the first time the other day after a recommendation from a friend. 30mins wait for a pickup on Friday night is not bad at all. The front door to this place has a weird angle so it is kind of hard to enter, I’m surprised they haven’t remodeled the entrance. Overall the pizza was mediocre. It had a good flavor my but pizza was burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside. When I went to pick up a piece it was very flimsy and the center literally fell apart — a soggy mess. I tried eating with a fork and knife but ended up rolling my pizza together which seemed to work better. The top was really greasy but again it had a good flavor after soaking up the grease with napkins. The cook mentioned they had too many pizzas in the oven which is why the outside was burnt; I guess in the future I would have rather waited 45−60mins for an evenly cooked pizza.

Yum. I’ve only been here three times, and the first two were perfect. The first time I got an Italian sub that was so big, it took me three days to eat it. It was delicious, spicy but not hot, with fresh, delicious cold cuts, olive oil, oregano, on a very fresh, soft sub roll. The second time — pizza slice. Flat, great sauce, not too much crust but what was there was whisper thin and crispy and delicous. Yesterday I ordered a whole pizza to take home for dinner — there was way too much crust and it was too thick and doughy. But the interior was good! Next time I order, I’ll just have to tell them to lay off the crust, but I love good pizza and this is very, very good.

Fantastic local food joint. The pizza was top shelf, perfect crust, Good ingredients, not over done. The chicken cutlet sub with fresh mozzarella and basil, roasted peppers and balsamic vinegar was amazing.. My mouth is drooling as I type.

I see most of the negative reviews are about delivery times. I’ve eaten slices from Toni Anns several times but it was always take-out, so I can’t speak to the delivery experience, but my girlfriend and I really like this place. The last two times we visited Boston, we picked up pizza here and took it to the Bunker Hill monument to eat as a picnic lunch. Most of the slices I’ve had here have been great. The only one that was a bit subpar was the mushroom one I had one my most recent visit; I love mushrooms — they’re my favorite pizza topping — but these mushrooms were just sliced too thick. I think that was a fluke though; even the cashier made a comment about it on my way out.

Having ordered pizza from here dozens of times, and never once receiving it in under an hour(usually 2 — 3 times as long as they claim it will be), I have to deduct a star. I live 2 blocks away. I’ve had to call and ask where our food was almost every time and there’s never any sort of apology – always a vague excuse. Tonight’s was there is a new delivery driver. Can’t wait for my cold pizza, thanks. Oh, and in addition to their inconvenient hours, this place is now closed on Mondays as well as Sundays.

This pizza is good. Super thin, no frills pizza. It’s most likely the best in the area(to be fair I haven’t been to the dominos next door). I’ve had a few subs here as well. Good steak and cheese, solid meatball. Order early, their hours are similar to your barbers.

plain cheese pizza for lunch; delivered to the office within an hour. It was reasonably hot. But oh was it tasty. corn meal instead of flower, chewy dough. and just 11 bucks. Fantastic

Delivery service is terrible. I waited over an hour only to be called later to say that they don’t do delivery to my place, which is only 10 minutes away.

I have found my favorite meataball sub ever. MEATABALL! Seriously, soft, moist, homemade and deliciously textured meatabll sub. Homemade sauce. Nice people working there and I just love how walking in this place feels like a step back in time. I will be here weekly now. Seriously, just go.

In the past I had a cheesesteak that was really good but not a «wow,» whereas today, I had a piece of pizza that wowed me. Better than Figs pizza(though probably in a different category). It was a pepperoni, mozzarella, and hot peppers pizza. So good! makes it a borderline 5-star(plus they gave me a piece for free too!) I will definitely be going back more often!

Awesome pizza, especially for charlestown! I recently moved to Boston(Charlestown) and have been on a search for a great pizza. I like a nice thin-medium crusted pizza(something a smidge thicker than NYC style) and was having a hard time finding anything I really enjoyed … until I got a pie from toni anns. These pies are excellent! the toppings are good, but really their marinara/pizza sauce is the real treat; it has exceptional flavor and not your typical bland tomato sauce stuff. Im big fan of the pepperoni and buffalo chicken. check out their facebook page for pictures of some of their specialty pizzas(avaiable all the time, but not on the menu). So far, the best pizza i’ve had in Boston!

WOW!!! Finally some decent(non-chain) delivery in Charlestown!!! My g.f. mentioned this place, so while walking by I grabbed a menu and a slice. The slice was very solid, I would give it 4.5 stars. $ 2 is the perfect price for a slice of cheese, so I like this place right off the bat. Flash forward an hour or two, I am home and it’s lunch time-so I decide to see what’s good. I ordered a steak bomb and chicken fingers/fries plate. The steak bomb kicked a$$!!! This is how they should be made. Maybe red peppers instead or in addition to would enhance, but I am giving it 5 stars!!! The chicken fingers were good, not amazing, but I wouldn’t expect more from a pizza and sub place. 4 stars. The fries were great. They were regular size, but not crinkle cut. I prefer plank fries generally, but these were good! Top it off, NODELIVERFEE to Charlestown. YES!!! I give these Toni Ann’s 5 stars overall!!! Oh and soon they will be open on Sundays!!!

Very very good. We went there for a simple lunch and received great food and great service. We had a pizza slice and two subs. The pizza was a little greasy but super tasty and the subs were even better. I think the bread was made fresh that morning. The best part was the owners were very nice and accommodating. What I wanted was not on the menu(veggie sub no cheese) but the guy made it and put some of his special balsamic sauce on it. For sure worth the short walk if you are on the trail.

When I saw that the former establishment, Christy’s Place, had closed I was definitely disappointed. Living in the neighborhood, I had sampled a variety of items off the menu, having enjoyed their slices of pizza and their wraps. Ok, ok… enough about the old place, this is supposed to be a review about Toni Anns. Enter Toni Anns. I have stopped in on several occasions since they opened and tried a few different things off the menu. In terms of sandwiches, there is a really good chicken cutlet sandwich. It comes on a sub roll and has breaded chicken(lots of it), basil, and proscuitto. It is fabulous, though one sub is easily two dinners for me, so it’s economical to boot. One area in which Toni Anns has improved over the prior establishment is the creativity in the pizza. There are generally multiple pies out, in which one can purchase by the slice. Once you’ve picked out your choice, they will warm it in the oven before sending you on your merry way. I love the sauce that they use, and the crust is good(not too doughy). I haven’t experimented with much else off the menu, since there tend to be some really interesting pizza choices by the slice. They do often have arancini, though these might be the biggest balls of rice I’ve ever seen! Almost seems like too much, but I suppose you can’t knock it until you try it. So, despite being sad and skeptical about the changing of the guards at 283 Main, I’ve been pleased with Toni Anns and wish them the best!
