Wentworth Nursery

The staff working outside are wonderful and very informative. The plants are beautiful and well taken care of. The prices of the plants are a little on the high side. The only issue I had was with the cashiers. They were rude, did not greet me at all and continued to talk with each other while checking me out. They need to learn their manners but other than that that… Pretty good experience!

We have hired Wentworth 2x for landscape design and installation and worked directly with the owner. A small portion of the work we ordered was not completed. We were not satisfied with some of the detail work for the work they did complete, and held back a retainage on our invoice pending its resolution. Within our warranty period, we lost 10 plants. I wrote at least 3 emails explaining the situation, sent actual USPS snail mail, made phone calls, and just this past Saturday August 22^nd, my husband personally visited the Charlotte Hall location and asked to speak in person with Richard Wentworth to resolve the matter amicably. He was «unavailable» so the woman in the shop took my husband’s cell number and promised a return call — that never came. Despite all of our attempts, the only contact Wentworth Nursery has made with us is monthly Statements which have billed us for the work they did not complete and the amount we withheld pending their satisfactory response to our concerns with the work. Considering we spent nearly $ 5,000 with them in 2 years’ time and worked directly with the owner of the company, I am nothing short of astounded at the passive aggressive disinterest they have shown in our satisfaction. We had hoped to have them perform seasonal cleanups in our yard, but clearly will be going elsewhere to any nursery but Wentworths in our future. I’d recommend you do the same.

Not the best place around for selection or service. Never ordered our order and didn’t tell us, we had to call and find out that it was never ordered. Would have been nice to know, so we went to Longwood Nursery. Highly highly highly recommend, not only did they have lower prices but they were incredibly helpful especially when we couldn’t make a quick last minute trip up there, they worked to get us same-​day pictures of what they had, and next day delivery! Highly recommend Longwood Nursery, don’t deal with horrible customer service at Wentworth.

Wish I had gone here sooner! The staff are very friendly and helpful with suggestions when you’re unsure what plants would go well together in your garden. The prices of the plants are so much more reasonable than at Lowes. They have a better an more varied selection to choose from. I know where I’ll be going for me plants and trees from now on. They also deliver for a small fee.
