I would highly recommend the Admirals Club for a long layover. I was stuck in CTL for 10 hours between flights, and bucked up the $ 50 for some peace and quiet to get some work done. There are tons of seats(very comfortable), tons of space, enough snacks to keep you fed all day, free beer/wine at the bar, and large windows that keep it a really bright space. It was extremely comfortable, and well worth the money. The staff was also extremely friendly. Everything was very clean(cleaners were constantly going around picking up plates, etc). There are complimentary newspapers and magazines(like The Economist) throughout the many lounges. There are also work carrels if you need to concentrate some more. There’s also a separate(free) wifi network from the rest of the airport which is way faster and consistent than that of the airport itself. I have nothing bad to say about this Admirals Lounge, despite the many poor reviews I read before I visited it.((Be sure to visit the bigger one, between terminals C and D!!))

This is a solid option when you’re waiting in between flights. Though a lot of the admirals club’s have gone downhill in recent years, this one seems pretty well maintained. When he gets busy, this place is packed and it’s hard to find a place to sit. Food selection seems a little bit limited times, not like the other admirals club which has soup and cheese and crackers and sometimes pita chips and hummus as well as other options.

Go to the bigger one at terminal D. It’s small and it’s nice to have one at the B terminal. It has the same bar options: well drinks, domestic beer and wine and a vegetable tray with cookies. No soup! Which I was surprised by but did have oatmeal. I suspect this will be closed soon. The most interesting finding was that the doors from the terminal are locked and you have to ring the doorbell to be let in.

Ok not great but it is nice! My American express gets me in for free so I should not complain but it just felt dated last time I was there. The drinks were good and the people were friendly!

I do come here quite often and it is a great place to unwind between flights. Staff is pleasant and food is reasonable. My only complaint are loud mouthed cellphone users who believe they own the place and don’t hesitate to force people to listen to their nonetheless pathetic conversations. I believe United should enforce their respectful no-noise policy and ask these obnoxious travelers to tune it down… We all deserve it. Cheers,

This is the smaller of the two clubs at CLT. I prefer the other one(Concourse C) since the convenience of this one(Concourse B) compared to the other isn’t obvious to me. I normally hang out at the club until it’s boarding time. If I have to walk 5 extra minutes from the other club, I’m ok with that. That said, I get the key benefit of club access when I’m here. I don’t have to fight for a seat and hunt down power outlets. All the free food and drinks are just a perk that wouldn’t necessarily sway me to «pay» for access.

Flying first class on US Airways and am an AA Sapphire member but somehow they denied me entry to the lounge. I showed them aa.com’s page explaining who gets entry and how I qualify twice, but local agents insist the web page is wrong. Even spoke to a supervisor who tried to say I was reading it wrong before finally admitting that she believes is wrong.

The service at the front desk was typical Admirals club excellence. The club overall seem dirty and dingy and not up to typical Admirals Club standards. No matter how you shake it, it’s still better than sitting out in the airport waiting for your plane. Hopefully they’ll get a chance to update this one soon and return to their high standards that they had in the past

Excellent club with top notch service! We were delayed due to an ice storm so it allowed us extra time to relax in the club. They had a big tray of various fresh cut veggies and different dips to dip them in. They also had a good pork and potato stew with crackers, individual bags of tortilla chips and individual cups of tostitos salsa! Oh and they had the yummy cookies here too! They also had fancy coffee machines that can make tea, hot chocolate, coffee, lattes and cappuccino’s. The bartenders were changing shifts when we first arrived. They were the friendliest club employees we had experienced during our whole trip which we had experienced 4 clubs total. If you have the chance, stop in and check it out!

Very quiet and relaxing club to get away while traveling. They had lots of staff to help and take care of us. There were snacks out as well as papers and mag’s to read. We were here at 7am so the bar was not open yet but was a large well stocked bar. I will have to try it on the next visit. Overall the place was clean and upscale as you would expect for a major airline club

Really nice area to relax and chill. I am really disappointed with the airline. With all there extra cost and ect. So I don’t think I will be traveling with them again anytime soon. But this was one of the nicest party of flying with them.

Nice place to come and relax between flights. The food isn’t the greatest, but house wine and beer is free! Love the big clean restrooms too.

Generally, I’m not a big fan of US Airways. To me, it just has this grungy, old feel to it. I’m really hoping that the AA merger will change things around. This club was pretty much what I was expecting. The staff was pretty nice, but the tables & chairs were messy/not clean, the food was mainly packaged w/very few fresh options, and the place just had an overall«we used to be great» feel to it. I don’t know. it was strange. All in all, it’s just not that much of an upgrade from the regular seating areas outside the club. It wasn’t the worst place, but I’ve experienced better. Which, equates to 2 stars.

I give this first-class lounge three stars the food that they had available was very mediocre. The snacks well everything was in packages nothing was fresh the seating arrangement was very close and uncomfortable. I’ve been to much better first class lounges, This is my first time flying first class with US airways so this might be a US airway standard lounge or it could just be this location… I may never know ;)

US Airways is an airline I am not that huge of a fan of anyway, but it was nice to be able to utilize the club at the Charlotte airport. The staff is super friendly, which is about all there was that was great about it. It was an early morning visit so I didn’t partake in the bar bevs, but I did have coffee which was ok. There were some apples and bagels available and comfy chairs all around. I ventured to the back cubicle area where I could get some work done on my layover. The area was ok, I had to wipe my desk clean before using it. I was mildly electrocuted while plugging in my laptop. Not kidding!!! I spent the rest of the time freaked out about the outlet and whether or not I would experience after-effects of the electricity. I would have probably been better off hanging in the normal gate area, although, if it had been during a remotely acceptable drinking hour, my visit to the Club would have been more enjoyable.

Dear US Air, I understand there is no outside food allowed in your club, but you don’t need to be a$$ holes about it when I left to get pizza for one of our children and came back in to gather them to eat it out side of your entrance. To the attendant behind the counter that held up a sign«No outside food allowed», not two seconds after I walk in, F-You.

I had always wondered what it was like behind the doors of the USAirways Club… those heavy wooden doors held an element of mystery… what went on in there anyway? Unfortunately the big reveal was like the Wizard of Oz. A lot of bark and no bite. The«club» is nothing more than a slightly more quiet and relaxed place to charge your phone, read the paper, and wait for your flight. Yes the chairs are comfy, and the lighting is nice, but there is nothing particularly special about this place. For several hundred dollars a year, I should think members could expect a bit nicer spread than instant oatmeal packets, horribly stale Lender’s bagels, and yogurt… would some juice be too much to ask? Oh wait, they have juice, but you have to go to the bar to get it… weird. Good grief, and they market this joint like it is an oasis of refinement. Please, so not impressed, wouldn’t pay for an annual membership or even a day pass. Unless quiet alone is worth the steep entry fee to you, I wouldn’t bother. They do serve free bud draft in the bar… yeungling is $ 5 premium… say what? Of course we HAD to get two free beers at 10am, but choked them down… Bud, yuck… anyway, suffice it to say, unless you are willing to part with a few hundred a year for a comfy chair and some free shitty beer, keep right on going on that people mover…

I think there are actually two US Airways Clubs in the Charlotte Airport, or I missed something. I bought a day pass since I was going to have a 3 hour layover. They had some simple breakfast out for general consumption — donuts and coffee, with more complicated food at a food counter. The best part of the lounge is the ability to kind of hide away and get some work done, although I always use my broadband so I don’t know how the WiFi is. My only complaint is that the line to just get in can take up to 15 minutes to get through. Seems like you should be able to scan your pass and go in.

There are two US Airways Clubs in the Charlotte airport. This is the much smaller one that is located halfway down the B concourse. Even though it’s smaller than its sister over between C and D, it has all the same functionality and features. Club angels who can help you with your travel issues, coffee and a bar with some free drinks(It’s US Air so expect to pay $ 5 for a «premium» beer aka Yuengling) and free snacks. I don’t know why people eat the snack mix that sits in that huge bowl — the number of kids I’ve seen stick their hands in there are disgusting! But the cheese and cookies and crackers are great. Free wifi(faster than the free wifi that the airport offers) and plenty of power outlets. If you have a long layover here in Charlotte, even if you aren’t a US Air elite flyer with club membership, you can buy a day pass. it’s well worth it to get out of the noise and hassle of the terminal and enjoy a little quiet.
