BJ’s

I visit this location approximately once a week to purchase the salmon by the pound and large quantities of broccoli/​green beans/​asparagus, which I then steam and use for meal prep lunches at work.
The salmon is always fresh and tastes incredible. And WHERE else can you buy fish and meat at these prices? Oh and the wine selection is always on point as well.
The staff, like another Unilocaler mentioned, is sometimes outstanding and sometimes mediocre. I guess it just depends on the day, however no major complaints here. The bathrooms have been clean every time I have visited them as well.

I like that BJ wholesale is at the Metropolitan where I can literally shop at one location with multiple stores. Like to make my life as simple as possible. Do not enjoy driving about town looking for items as if it was like a scavenger hunt.
Usually go to Targets first for they open before BJ’s wholesale and then head over across the street for Trader Joe’s, and the other shops.
This is urban living in the big city with convenience and easy access when it comes to shopping.
The only thing that I am bummed about is that there is no gas filling station.

Pretty convenient to anyone in or near Uptown Charlotte looking to buy bulk. The parking deck can be a bit of a hassle but the store is new and clean. The staff is hit or miss. Some of them are great and some make me wonder how they ever landed a job.
Large aisles. Items I’d never expect to see, but also lacking some key things I’d like to see. Decent baked goods. Great for some things, but don’t fall victim to buying things that you really don’t need just because they seem like a good deal. Sure, a 10 pound box of cheese-​it crackers for $ 6.99 sounds like a good deal, but let’s think this through. Is it going to fit in your cupboard? Are you really going to eat them all before they go stale? If you’re not catering an event with them, they really aren’t a deal. Throwing ¾ of the box away because they went stale before you could eat them is a waste. On the off chance you are catering an event with them, well, I just hope I’m not invited to said event. Face it: cheese-​it crackers just aren’t classy.
Giant box of dishwasher tabs? I’m all in. They are needed, they will get used, they won’t go bad, and I’m buying the equivalent of 4 normal sized packages you’d fine in any grocer for the price of 3! #winning
Just be careful what you buy is all I’m saying. If you are a business owner, this is probably a good place for you. If you’re eyes are bigger than your belly, shop elsewhere.

Centrally located in midtown at the Met, BJ’s recently opened up the world of warehouse shopping to many. Previously, the closest locations were too far from center city. The membership sales team has been slanging memberships at discounted rates to lure new shoppers in.

Overall: I much prefer shopping at Costco but the convenience of BJs will win out sometimes.

I used to be a member of BJ’s years ago when they still had a warehouse on Independence Blvd. When that store closed, it wasn’t worth driving to Pineville, Concord or Mooresville to visit the nearest BJ’s and I stuck with Costco as my only warehouse membership.
So I was interested when I heard BJ’s was opening in Midtown Charlotte at Metropolitan. In recent months, BJ’s sent all sorts of membership options to my house from a free 4 months to $ 25 membership so I was lured in to join again.
Joining was a breeze, they scanned my drivers license to get all my information, asked for my phone number, took my picture, payment and gave me my card. Then they gave me what seemed to be 4 dozen coupon books. What’s even better is they will accept manufacturers coupons in addition to theirs for an item.
So while I was there I had to look around. The store is laid out well. TV’s in the front, food items on both sides and in the back, non-​food items in the middle and in the front.
The differences here than Costco are they offer mostly name brands, few organic items, they offer smaller sizes, they have a deli and can slice cold cuts, they have a huge spice section (one of the things i loved about BJs) they take manufacturers coupons and they take all major credit cards.
The staff was friendly here but I think it’s because the store is new and unlike Costco at times, there were plenty of checkouts open.
But unfortunately, I still like Costco better because of the organics selection and because they have a better selection overall with better quality items.

The aisles are wide, clean and well-​organized. I love it.
Great organic, natural and whole food choices for my picky vegan eaters. The freshness dates were far off so I am going to be able to use my finds for a few weeks.
The customer service is great. The selection is great. The meat aisles are full of choices from local and national brands. We were able to meet our needs for clean, lean meat and our vegan family member meatless meat-​like products.
The veggie selection was amazing. The standard peppers, onions, etc. were joined by exotic mushrooms, shallots, lettuces and intense pepper varieties.
The fruit selection included fresh, frozen and pre-​prepared varieties for lunch, dinner buffets and office parties. Love the star fruit and beautiful mangoes. Everything was fresh and well presented.
The clothing section is well organized. Good choices. Well constructed clothing.
They have everything you need including oil and tires!
Great safe parking. Enjoy your shopping.
