BLT Steak

Went tonight kind of by accident. I was pleasantly surprised. The steaks were good, as good as any other high end steak house I have been. But the Brussels sprouts were definitely the best I have ever had! Simply amazing. And the peanut butter dessert was fabulous! Our waitress and other staff were very friendly and attentive but no where near overbearing. The ambiance was very nice. I would definitely recommend.

We want here for a special graduation dinner. We were a bit disappointed from the get go because we sat unnoticed by our server for 10 minutes… Our waiter Cujo was attentive without being overbearing. The food was great, dipping sauces for days… Wedge salad was, meh. Complimentary popovers, that came way late, were awesome. Pâté was complimentary too, but we can’t say if it was good, it’s not our scene. Steaks were cooked perfectly, best Brussels sprouts in CLT. Dessert was b-​o-​m-​b. Peanut butter mousse, get it.

Tried BLT Steak for our anniversary this evening. Simply put, some of the best food I’ve had in Charlotte. I had the Confit rosemary and lemon chicken with creamed spinach. The chicken was amazing! My husband had the ribeye and jalapeño mashed potatoes, which had the perfect kick of spice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Dinner was amazing! Service was even better than the food. Ask for King Kojo as your server.

SHIT trifecta: horrible service, marginal food, expensive.

Breakfast was great. Pancakes, bacon in warm skillets. Service was great too. We had Daniel as a waiter. Restaurant was a bit drafty but otherwise perfect.

A very good surprise. We stopped here on a whim and had a fine lunch. A great burger and superb popovers.

Since when does your waiter literally RUN away from taking your order to help the runner serve salads at his other table. Oh — when you are a table of three and they are a table of 10.

Son… This shit right hereeeeeee!!! Wack. Ok… Let’s get into it. If you advertise a VIP section with food, then please be prepared to feed more than the first 5 people in line. Next, please provide a nice ambiance between the two parties. Finally, at least be consistent on whom can come into the VIP section. Currently… This is some bs…

The food was bland for how much it was priced. The place is very nice and warm with nice service but the food was very underwhelming. I had lemon chicken which didn’t have any flavor really and some kind of cheese stuffed dumpling with sauce that saved the dish. To be honest not worth it, the ambience is better than the food.

Okay food, great atmosphere, great service. It is what you expect of a fine dining place but the food left us disappointed (twice). The french fries were over seasoned in garlic and so was the steak. We left the restaurant with the garlic taste and it would not go away hours after the meal. The server told us to order without garlic next time and we did on the next visit, still they had put on it and mentioned that is pre-​marianted. Why!!!

Well, this has been on the bucket list for quite some time, as a high quality, well known restaurant in Charlotte. My usual budget doesn’t allow for splurging here, but Restaurant week provides the perfect opportunity — 3 courses for $ 35.00. Though the menu is much shorter, still sign me up!
I realize there aren’t too many reviews or photos (probably because it’s such a class place) but I managed to still take some photos that I will use for my blog so hopefully they will be helpful!
For the starters, I got the cauliflower risotto (though dont’ be fooled — the risotto is not made of cauliflower, just has some charred cauli on top, which I thought was a bit deceiving), and the hubby got the butternut squash soup. I found the risotta to be really delicious, creamy and a perfect touch of milk/​cheese flavor.
I had the salmon for my entrée, which was beautifully presented. It came with cous cous and some chopped kombucha squash. This was good, but sadly, I think the salmon could have been a little more flavorful and seasoned. It was a bit dry to me. Still, a great piece of fish so I was happy to eat it as is, but I think flavor would have been a great addition. My husband had the hanger steak. We have had BAD hanger steak in the past and have been hesitant to order since, because it takes knowledge to cook it well — otherwise it’s often chewy and bland, like the last one was. BLT knows their steak though, obviously, because this steak was more than flavorful and so tender, not chewy. It came with french fries (seasoned with parsley maybe?), which were perfectly crisp and delicious. This was the winner here.
For dessert, we both got the peanut butter chocolate mousse, which needs to description. Peanut butter + chocolate = heaven. And the texture was perfect — so moist. Plus, accompanied with ice cream to soak it all up.
If BLT were more in my price range, I“d be a regular! But definitely a great place to try during restaurant week, Charlotteans!

I went last night with my wife. I’m torn in this review a little. I feel like my experience should have been great. But it wasn’t. The service was top notch — our waiter was terrific. I have no complaints about service. The service was top notch and what I would expect. I think it was the value for the food I got that troubles me. The popovers were huge– but they weren’t warm and while we ate them all they weren’t overwhelming. The chef sent out a tasting pâté. It was good but it was too salty and I like salty food. Our glasses of wine were very expensive for what seemed like very small glasses of wine. My NY strip was huge and good, but I don’t think it was $ 45 good. I’ve cooked ones as good at home for a fraction of the price. And then I had to order a side for $ 11. My wife got sea bass grenobloise. It too was good, but at $ 36 with no side it just seems like it should have been better. Our sides — BBQ corn and Brussels sprouts were both great but I don’t think they were $ 11 great. We didn’t have room for desert but the chef sent out a dessert petit four for us. They were good too and appreciated. Maybe I’m just not a steakhouse person. It just seems like for the prices we paid the meal should have been memorable and special. Instead I felt like it was fine to good. Take it for what it’s worth — just one opinion!

Impeccable service even at the bar. Especially at the bar. Don’t forget they have 5 dollar apps from 5 to 7. At BLT that actually means something.

Outstanding service ! Enjoyed our gruyère bread poppers and the excellent chicken livers very nicelly presented. Had excellent oysters to start. Followed with a perfectly cooked and amazingly good filet mignon of beef. We got a side of outstanding asparagus. Dessert was a crêpe soufflé with passion fruit soooooo good, delicious. The only negative is the atmosphere of the restaurant lacks a bit of comfort, coziness. While it is nicely decorated bit cold.

We’ve been in several times. Always a fan.
We usually sit at the bar and have great service. TV’s there are a little wonky on the picture. Not sure what’s up with that.
Steak is always phenomenal. I usually get the petit filet which they «cook» blue, which is my fave. Had the BBQ Corn which is tasty and the potatoes au gratin are delicious even though I don’t really care for potatoes.
Drinks are always well made.
Nice to relax in the Ritz Carlton Lobby Lounge before or after the meal.

The complimentary Yorkshire pudding is one of the best. The service and food is outstanding. You haven’t gone you need to.

Great customer service. Came in because of the mailers for some neighborhood discount. They still honored it even though it had expired which was great. But the wagyu steak and the Dover fish were already sold out… So had to find something else. I went with the short run which was flavor full and soft. We also got the union rings which were good. Fiancé got the new strip medium. It was good too. We also had the seafood platter (which came out a little late) but it was comped. The ceviche was yummy… Very tiny but soo tasty. Definitely should make its own appetizer!
