If you know the shoe you need, I am sure this is a great place to go.
My issue is the return policy. The people I dealt with here were very nice and very helpful, but their return policy means I’m never going back here again. Once you wear a shoe outside, it can’t be returned. Period. I don’t own a treadmill and I don’t belong to a gym, so that means I effectively can’t buy shoes here and hope to ever return them. I bought a pair of Mizunos that I thought I loved and felt great in the store. But, a week and 3 runs outside later, I realized they were aggravating a tendon issue I have (it’s definitely the shoes, they are the only thing I changed). They’re more stability and a higher heel-​toe drop than I’m used to. I don’t know if it’s that, the wave plate, or what, but something about the shoes makes my left set peroneal tendons furious. I tried to return the shoes with no luck; they have less than 15 miles on them.
I understand not taking the shoe back once it’s been outside if it’s being returned for cosmetic reasons, but these shoes were injuring me– I cannot run in them and be healthy. The best they could do was either sell me another pair at 20% off (lol) or call around to other locations to see if they had last year’s model of my old shoes in my size to sell me at more of a discount.
I went to Charlotte Running Company because I like supporting local business, but I won’t ever do business with them again. Maybe it was my mistake for not clarifying the return policy before I purchased the shoes, but I didn’t expect to have problems and I didn’t anticipate the policy being so restrictive. Next time I need shoes I’ll order my them online or go to Ultra Running Company in Elizabeth.

Great experience! Went to this location instead of the one closest to our house (East Blvd.) for two reasons; 1) they had a groupon and, 2) I had to pick up a bridesmaids’dress from David’s Bridal. I’m so glad we did!
Sarah needed running shoes for MP track and field. She has a terrible time with getting the right fit and a shoe that can make it through the whole season. The young lady there was so helpful. First, she did the gait assessment, then brought out five different brands of shoes for Sarah to try. Sarah liked two pairs, the Brooks and the Mizuno. She decided on the Brooks. I was worried they would be $ 250 (no prices on the shoes). $ 100, with $ 25 off groupon, $ 75 out of pocket. If you buy runners, you know that’s a good deal.
We went to get the aforementioned dress and decided on the way to go back for the Mizunos. I was going to buy a second groupon, but she just gave me the $ 25 discount in store. No problem!
So, Sarah has two pairs of neutral gate, 10 heel rise, actual running shoes for about $ 175. That’s the price we paid for one pair last year from a competitor specialty shoe place.
Definitely will use them again, groupon or not!

I’d visited the Dilworth location once before and had a great experience, but a Groupon specific to the new Northlake location got me to drive up from Pineville for new sneakers… and it was so worth it.
The minute I walked in, Kelly greeted me and introduced herself (but not in that annoying, salesy way). I’d never had a full-​on gait analysis, so I got the full work-​up. She showed me the video of me running and pointed out some hitches in my giddyup that helped her figure out what sort of shoe I needed. She was then able to grab a few pairs to start the process, and she encouraged me to try them out by running on the treadmill, running outside, running around the store… whatever I wanted to do! She asked questions about how much and where I run, but it never felt pressurey or like I wasn’t a hardcore enough runner to be in there. They’re really just there to help.
She said that location’s only been open for a few months, but it seems like they’ve already hit their stride in the customer service department. CRC has a fan for life!
