Great bike shop. Found espada here on Unilocal.Gave me a great deal on a rebuild/​tune up on my dad’s old Gary fisher mountain bike. This bike was in rough shape when I dropped it off and he had it looking great and riding smooth in just a few days. I was totally blown away by how clean the whole bike was when I picked it up!!! Rides and looks like it was brand new again!!!
He had a decent stock of new and used parts/​bikes in the shop. Kept the cost low on my rebuild by using everything we could off my bike and some used parts he had around the shop.
This is exactly the type of business I like to give my money and support to! The man stands by his work.
I’ll be bringing my canandale by soon for a tune up… I didn’t really think it needed one until feeling how smooth the Gary fisher rode and shifted after he worked on it!!! I’d recommend Espada to anyone for any of their bicycle needs!!!

I awoke Saturday morning with one word on my mind: «Ride.»
It had been some months since I mounted my bike and set out for a morning journey, thus decided today was the day.
Geared up and walked bike to the gas station to fill tires with air. One instantly filled to rock hard capacity, the other… Still FLAT. No!
Fearing my planned escapade ruined, ran home, threw the bike in my jeep, and sped over to Espada, arriving moments before opening at 11am. With no appointment & assuming he likely had other bikes to work on, I resigned myself to an hour+ wait. Steve arrived –with his refreshing easy going persona– and immediately sensed my grief. After pleasantries, he hoisted my bike up and set to diagnosing it. Within seconds, he determined the inner tube needed replacing.
Less than 20min after I pulled up — quietly ridiculing my lack of preparedness-​, I was shoving my ‘ready to ride’ TREK back in the jeep! Arrived back home 11:40am, and was peddling away 5min later. (11:45 is STILL morning, so, I win.)
My bike feels brand new. Rode for 3 hours around Charlotte. It really doesn’t get better than Espada Bicycles. No, really.

Took my husband’s bike here with a problem no other bike shop would touch and they knocked it out of the park! This was my second time going there, the first was for a tune up, and this was for a new headset and fork install. He was innovative and resourceful all while ensuring me his solution would be safe and sound. The bike is better than it was when I got it brand new many years ago. I’ll definitely go here anytime I’ve got an issue with any of my 3 bikes. Thanks Espada for the hard work, you seriously killed it!

When it was time to finally get my Mountain Bike tuned-​up I was asking friends if there was someplace local I can bring it too. Some told me Espada. So I took their word and gave him a try. I have to say. Nothing but the best. My Mountain Bike rides better than it did when I bought it new. 5 star service!
