Took my fiancé here this past weekend and we couldn’t be more pleased! Right after you call you get a text message reminding you of your appointment. Marcus is clearly a perfectionist, in a good way! And the man has a way with the straight razor because his shape up was perfection! We’ll definitely be back again!

This review is aimed specifically for the skills of the barber, Marcus Clark, and does not involve his character. There was no argument or scene at the shop that emotionally affects this rating. Paid fully plus tip and was a socially smooth visit.
Short review: Asian haircut. Barber: nice guy, terrible cutting skills. Did not cut what I wanted even with provided pictures and clear details. Took two visits due to numerous errors. $ 25 that didn’t even include str8 rzr neck shave. Avoid barber.
Marcus was nice, but his skills with the razor are poor. I have very dense Asian hair and only very experienced barbers know how to manage this type of hair. Marcus’ card reads he has 20 years of experience so I was expecting master class for the price of $ 25. I am a very specific customer that comes ready with pictures of haircuts that were done on me. I know the proper lengths of guards I want and the proper terminology to make the cut description clear. What I wanted and generally get is a disconnected undercut, faded tightly on the sides, natural part, with convex and concave layering on the top. He had way more information on what needed to be done than an average customer… and guess what? Marcus cut it the way HE wanted, which did not reflect anything I showed or told him. He made errors on my cut that he was nice enough to correct, but the cut was still extensively flawed. These are the errors I received.
On the first visit:
–Entire side of my head was clearly faded longer than the opposing side. Confirmed by three other people.
–One side of my head had jagged transition into the side part.
–I clearly asked for 0.5 inch off the top and to keep it very long. He took off about 2.5 inches. Yep, I measured before and after.
–Did not account for the shape of my head and my hair type. Faded straight into my hair without the proper tapering motions as you go up the temple and the towards the crown. Left me with an awkward shape and zero definition.
–No straight razor neck shave
Second visit (for the fix)
–Tried to fix the side that was improperly faded. Didn’t get it right the first time. Had to do it one more time.
–Took off another 0.5 inches on the top towards the crown. Left me with a really awkward transition.
Hair comes back even from a bad cut. The customer does not.

Moved to Charlotte 1 year ago and have had trouble finding a barber that faded and shortened my hair like my old barber did back at home. Went and saw Marcus and I’ll definitely be coming back. I love how the cut turned out.
There was some confusion about the location. For some reason the address on here takes the GPS to the wrong location and the guys asked me to spread the word. If you look up Pride Conditioning, use that address and Marcus’ shop is directly next door. I definitely recommend going here for a quality haircut

Marcus certainly doesn’t need my review to justify his cutting ability as all the reviews before mine (all 5 star I might add) will do that for you. In fact, I signed up JUST to review him as I normally don’t review places although I use Unilocal very frequently to see what others have to say about an establishment and then make my decision to patronize said establishment from there. I grew tired of getting jacked up haircuts all over Charlotte and found Marcus on Unilocal and decided to hit him up based on the reviews. Man listen… this is the best barber in Charlotte and that’s all I have to say about that.

Needed a barber bad when I moved to Charlotte… he’s been my barber since August. No need to go anywhere else

I’ve been going to Marcus for about a year now. I feel like I was pretty lucky to find him. He does a great job — and I’m pretty picky. He’s easy to get an appointment with most of the time — but he stays pretty busy. I’d truly recommend him to anyone.

I’ve been getting my cuts from Marcus since August 2015 and couldn’t be happier with the service. He’s very personable and flexible. I just shoot him a text and can get in fairly quickly. The rest of the staff at the shop is great too. I enjoy getting my haircuts.

I have been searching for a quality barber in Charlotte for 3 months. Saw the other reviews on Marcus and decided to give him a call. He had an immediate opening and said he could see me. BINGO! Marcus proved to be very professional, skilled, took time to make my haircut perfect, trimmed my beard and gave me a straight razor shave complete with hot lather. AMAZING! Marcus secured my loyalty as a future customer! I HIGHLY recommend him!
Shop was great too and the other barbers were very friendly. Overall a great experience!

Marcus is easily the best barber in the Charlotte area. I’ve been everywhere. from expensive salons down to Paul Mitchell and Aveda advanced students, and he’s better than everyone. He honestly does a better job than experienced instructors!
It must be because he’s been perfecting the men’s cut for the past 20 years.
It’s clear he focuses his attention on perfecting your cut. Probably because he takes ownership of his art. Clean, perfect cut and a good price!
He’ll do what you ask for better than you even imagined it.

Glad I opted for the straight razor beard trim, it’s worth it. This is a friendly, real-​deal barber shop with fair prices, and Marcus is a pro.

Marcus is not only the best barber in Charlotte, he’s also one of the funniest. He does great fades, and can give you whatever cut you are wanting. I highly recommend him.

I’ve been getting my haircut with Marcus for past two months and he’s by far the best barber in Charlotte. I’ve gone to several barber shops before finding Marcus and none of them can compare. It’s incredible, some shops didn’t even know what a fade was! Marcus does appointments which is very efficient and always does great work. I’ll follow him wherever he goes. by far, the best barber in town!

If you’re looking for a real barber in charlotte, Marcus is your man. He is a perfectionist, takes his time and always does a great job. The straight edge and warm shaving cream really top it off. I’ve been going to him for about three months now and wish I found him sooner.
