The Wine Shop

What a lovely little surprise! I found this place by accident actually. Long story short I found myself in desperate need for a 12 bottle foam wine travel box, in 24 hours. I googled all of the wine places
around me and called and called and called. The Wine Shop answered and said no problem, we have them. When I pulled up I was surprised this little place had popped up without me noticing, as its on one of my walking paths, right next to the Dilworth Grill and that rug shop that has been going out of business for a decade. I walked in and found a very warm and inviting wine selection. I walked up to the register and asked (who I now know to be the owner) where the styrofoam packs were. He let me follow him downstairs to look near the shipment boxes and the facility is enormous! There is an an entire chilled storage unit downstairs. You can tell that this is the real deal for wine lovers in uptown. He sorted through some boxes and handed me one from a vineyard that delivered a box for one of his customers.
The owner was so sweet that he gave me the box for free, which I didn’t expect. So as a way to say thanks I took a look around for a fun bottle of wine. We have an anniversary coming up so I asked for something special. He pointed me toward the last bottle of a South African dessert wine, Vin de Constance, that was made famous in Europe in the 18^th and 19^th century from Napoleon to Jane Austen. Needless to say I can’t wait to open it up!
