Stopped in today for a haircut and I see they’ve rebranded, it’s now just a hair solon and they dropped the barber part. People looked the same so I went in, big mistake. The woman who cut my hair was using a broken set of clippers, of course this was noticeable after she started so I couldn’t leave. She had to stop every minute or so to tighten the blade back down. I don’t want much so a usual cut takes 5 minutes, this was closer to half an hour. When we finally finished that’s when she said it was cash or check only since they were changing things over, if it had been said at the beginning I would of come back because I needed to use my credit card. The only cash I had was a 100 bill, she wanted me instead to go use an out of network and way the fees. She finally took the bill and gave me my change, I left and won’t be back.

I took my son there, looking for a barber, not a stylist, a barber, and there was none to be found. There were 2 stylist one of whom cut my sons hair and did an OK job, there is a difference between stylist and barbers and most men know what I mean. I don’t look for stylist and my wife does not look for a barber, just trying to make myself clear. I was able to touch up my sons hair at home, it grows so fast I will be looking for another place very soon. Décor is that of a salon, stylist instead of barbers, Cosmo and women’s day magazines, this place is not a barber shop!

I was glad to see this place open in the shops by Davis Lake. I wasn’t actively looking for a new place to get my hair cut, but thought I’d try them since they’re so close to where I live/work now. I stopped in without an appointment and Jason offered to cut my hair. The place was empty, but they had only been open a few weeks so that’s not surprising. Super inexpensive($ 14) haircut. Jason did a decent job with my hair, although it would have been nice if he had offered to get me shampoo’d(even at an extra cost, I would have been happy to do it) to get my hair product out before cutting. This led to some uneven spots, but my hair grows fast so not the end of the world. I was also a bit surprised by the lack of chit-chat going on. The other two stylists didn’t even say hi as I walked by, and Jason didn’t say much while cutting my hair, even when I asked him questions just to shoot the breeze a little. Maybe that’s just a personality thing. Let me be clear in saying that I’m not the type of person who wants/needs to have my rear kissed when I go somewhere, but a friendly atmosphere is nice to have. I will say on the positive side that I didn’t feel«rushed» despite the low cost. For that reason alone I tipped 43%(a nice even $ 20 for haircut+tip). I might give them one more try before going back to my old place or just going to one of the chains. Other positives from an objective standpoint: plenty of free parking right outside in the shared parking lot & open lots of hours(even Sundays).
