The absolute best donuts ever. No place compares. The orange glaze and bacon topping together is outstanding! Highly, highly recommend.

These donuts tho… gotta get them and eat them while they’re hot! I’ve stopped by on multiple occasions(including when they used to close early) and have really never been disappointed by what I got here. Pluses: — Their hot donuts are top par. Very very good and doughy — Generous with their toppings — You get to feel like a little kid at the car wash as you watch them prepare your donuts — They’re also very speedy Minuses: — Nothing

My wife and I found ourselves at Duck Donuts on National Donut Day to see what all the hype was all about. Two donuts each later, we can say the hype is worth it! It’s a simple shop, but they make your donut right in front of you so it’s super warm when you enjoy it. I ordered the chocolate donut with sprinkles and it was amazing. My wife said it was the BEST donut she’s every had. After two donuts, we were loaded with too much sugar and felt sick, but it was worth it!

I’m not sure I’ve ever had a better donut. We inadvertently went on National Donut Day so we got a free donut for each two we purchased. It was busy but we didn’t wait long and it was more than worth the wait. We ordered vanilla icing with bacon and raspberry, peanut butter with chocolate, vanilla with oreo, cinnamon sugar, powdered and maple with bacon. Maple with bacon was the BEST!!! Warm fresh, made to order… best donuts ever!

What’s not to love about fresh donuts? Fresh donuts with peanut butter? Nothing. There is EVERYTHING to love. SOGOOD. These are substantial cake donuts, no sugary insufficient Krispy Kreme nonsense, but they’re not heavy and lumpy. They’re satisfying. And you can get them chocolate frosted and rolled in coconut.(Which is my favorite.)

Not the best donut I’ve ever had but still very good. Made to order and lots of options.

Legitimately… just, just go. Hot, fresh, deliciously soft and crunchy in the right places. Get the french toast doughnut. You can thank me later. (The Stonefield Shoppes is also a nice place to walk around, fun boutiques and restaurants and a grassy area to picnic).

Friends, I love donuts and I have eaten them everywhere I find them but I have never experienced donuts like these. Made to order, glazed as soon as they are out of the fryer, hot deliciousness. I got the maple glazed with bacon bit topping and my daughter got the special of the day«Reese’s». The place is called Duck Donuts and it alone is worth a trip to Charlottesville.

When I saw that a doughnut shop was coming in to Stonefield(where I live) last year, I knew i was in trouble. It wasn’t until they opened that I realized JUST how much trouble. These doughnuts are incredible. They’re made to order so every one is piping hot with fresh toppings. I’d almost call it a dessert more than a doughnut, because it’s a real treat. The dough has a great flavor and has a nice chew. The staff have always been friendly and helpful, and they show you your doughnuts before you leave to make sure you’re happy with how the toppings turned out. Usually you can get a sample of their cinnamon sugar doughnut when you walk in, which is an added bonus. My favorites are the vanilla frosted with sprinkles and the cinnamon sugar. The vanilla is sweet but not overwhelmingly so. The cinnamon sugar is great because really, you can’t go wrong with a warm cinnamon sugar doughnut. I used to like their strawberry frosting and while it’s still good, I think it changed recently. It’s a deeper pink color now and is really sweet. I find it to be a little much for the doughnuts. I’ve also tried their chocolate frosting and peanut butter frosting, both of which are great, just heavier. This place is always packed and rightfully so. I think it’s a great option for a sweet treat and imagine it’s a great place to bring kids who want to personalize their own doughnut. I’m a member of the Edge gym next door, so it’s pure torture to smell these babies frying away while I’m doing squats. But I guess that just motivates me to work harder so I can have more doughnuts…

Can’t get hotter donuts than here– They’re fast, simple, and delicious when you get your tray. They’re just the right amount of softness on the inside, and cooked on the outside. I come here when I can(but not too often ;)) PSA weekends(especially Sundays) are very busy there!

Delicious donuts indeed. The best part is that you can make the donuts with the flavor you so desire. It is s place worth checking out, especially donuts lovers.

This is not a typical Unilocal review but bear with me… My husband travels for work and was going to be in Charlottesville for his 40th birthday; we just had a baby and I know leaving was especially hard this time so I wanted to make sure his day was a little special, even if he did have to work. I reached out to Duck Doughnuts to see if they could help and I was put in contact with Rebecca. I was looking to have doughnuts delivered to the John Paul Jones Arena on my husband’s birthday and not being from the area(we live in RI) or knowing if delivery was even an option, I was thrilled and relieved when Rebecca said it wasn’t a problem. She totally got behind the idea and ran with it. The doughnuts arrived at the arena on his birthday and they were beautiful and everyone said they tasted amazing! If he didn’t have another 28 days left on this tour I would have asked him to bring some home! I really appreciate the help with my long-distance planning and the amazing effort that was put into helping me make my hubby’s birthday special!

Words cannot describe how amazing these donuts are. They are served hot and fresh, and they just melt in your mouth. Because they’re made to order, there is a little bit of a wait. I came right before a large rush and I waited about 10 minutes. Im embarrassed to say I forgot to try the bacon toppings, but the coconut on vanilla was good.

*** 3 ½ stars *** I’d add another star if I were a fan of cake donuts but these are too dense for me. I much prefer the melt-in-your mouth variety(think Krispy Kremes). My dining partner and I split two donuts: 1) strawberry icing with rainbow sprinkles and 2) maple icing with bacon bits. The donuts came out fresh and warm, and the icing and toppings were nicely done, but I just wasn’t a fan of the texture. I did order a cappuccino that was very good.

So I see what the hype is about!!! Man these donuts are good!!! I love how they make each donut to order. Batter, fried and glazed all in front of your eyes! You get to pick your glaze and topping and the best is definitely the French toast! They also have samples at the counter just tempting you. Glad I stopped by this place while I was in town, maybe one day I can make it to duck and try them in their place of origin.

Went to visit UVA. I’m not a big fan of donuts or most sweets for that matter. My kid loves them. So why not. Ordered half dozen. I had eaten two before I drive a mile. Idc.Idc. I am not ashamed! I am agnostic and I promise for a second I declared, «There is a God.» I called everyone to tell them about these donuts. Then I was sad cause I never plan to visit Charlottesville again. I didn’t know at the time there are locations closer to me. Praaaaise Santa, the tooth fairy, and the Easter bunny!

I think I have a beef with donuts. I don’t get why they are served as a breakfast item and not dessert because that really and truly is what they are. There has been a lot of buzz about Duck Donuts, and we went shopping really early last Saturday morning, so I knew we had to check it out when there wouldn’t be a crazy line. Their menu is organized by icing flavors and toppings, so you are able to customize your donuts. Bacon everything is also all the rage, so we felt like we needed to try the maple and bacon donut although the peanut butter with chocolate sprinkles was another good choice that I’ll have to try in the future. Coconut is my boyfriend’s favorite so he went with vanilla and coconut. The donuts are made to order, so they come out of the oven pipping hot. They are very, very, very sweet – more so than other donuts that I’ve had. They are super cakey and delicious – like I said before, they should be served as dessert. The coconut was tasty, and I liked the salty sweet combination of the bacon and maple. I get why Duck Donuts is super hyped, and I’m just not the biggest donut fan, but if you are, you should definitely get your butt in here!

Finally after all the coaxing from friends I decided to check this place out. My friends ordered the cinnamon sugar donuts and my boyfriend and I split the glazed, cinnamon sugar, and chocolate with sprinkles. Wow. I really loved how they were freshly made, customizable, and pipping hot. When I say hot, I mean watch your fingers and get napkins or utensils for these! Aside from the temperature, the donuts were definitely delicious. The styles we ordered were reminiscent of tender warm cake with icing. I’ll admit I’m not a huge fruit flavored donut person so I can’t speak about those, but the styles we got were perfectly tasty and not too sweet. I’ll definitely be coming back!

It’s hard to not like these customized-to-order donuts, especially with that darn cute duck logo. I am a big fan of how you can order whatever icing/toppings you want for the same flat price, whether you get cinnamon sugar or maple with bacon. It’s also fun to watch the staff make your donuts, and I have found everyone to be very nice. The first time I was there it was a little crazy at the counter, as it was unclear if you have to fill out a piece of paper with your order or if you just tell the person at the register(I’ve since done it both ways). There’s also not a lot of seating, even though the space is rather large. It’s good that they are in a shopping center with picnic tables and other outdoor seating locations.

(Sesame Street song) Rubber Duckie, you’re the one… This Outer banks company is now expanding, their latest venture is now C’ville. I’m passing thru VA and my family is telling me they tried a doughnut that is better than Doughnut Plant in NYC, better than Krispy Kreme, better than my moms pineapple upside down cake. Better!!! OMG, hell yes. Its true! I walk in with my cousins. The shop isn’t as large as a typical Krispy Kreme, it isn’t a factory operation with conveyor belts. You are able to see the operation behind plexiglass, the hot oil vat is frying some sexy ass doughnuts. The chalk board by the register breaks down your doughnut by icing flavor and toppings. I choose a chocolate doughnut with coconut topping but them I look down and see: FRENCHTOASTDOUGHNUT with maple icing. Sold!!! This doughnut is the real deal. The cake is moist but more importantly, it’s elegant and well crafted. I can taste the freshness, it’s a premium doughnut. And it’s a fun, sloppy doughnut! If you think you’re going to grab a coffee and a doughnut while driving to work, good luck. The icing gets all over your hands and face, it’s not a bad thing but just be aware. I’m a total fan! Rubber Duckie, I’m awfully fond of you. :D
