Express Alterations by Anna

I took a bridesmaid dress to Anna for hemming and adjustments to the straps. While she was pinning everything, I mentioned how I would need to safety pin the top of the dress so that it wouldn’t be too low cut. She told me that she could easily solve the problem by adding a hook and that it would look great. When I picked up the dress, the hem and straps were fine, but the hook looked awful. There was a major gap, and it just didn’t work. Anna said that the hook often doesn’t work on dresses like that. I felt like she talked me into the alteration then told me after the fact that customers aren’t usually happy with that fix. I asked her to remove the hook because it showed on the outside of the dress (another problem of its own), and she was really irritated to have to do it. It would have been nice if she had offered to take the hook portion off the bill, but she didn’t. The total cost of alterations was $ 85, which I felt was high even before I was disappointed with the results. I won’t be going back.

Anna did an excellent job altering my wedding dress for my September 5^th wedding. First of all, she altered down my gown from it’s original size 10 to a size 2. I had to go in several times to make sure the dress came along correctly, and she always took time to make sure everything was perfect. Each time, the dress was ready when she stated it would be. That’s a big relief as a bride!
The hook she sewed on originally broke due to the weight of the dress. She not only fixed the hook, but sewed in a back-​up hook just in case it broke on the wedding day. I’m happy to report that the hook stayed intact the entire night!

I had a bridesmaid dress emergency — pregnancy required me to re-​order a dress to accommodate the baby, and it arrived a week before the wedding. It was huge and needed more alterations than I expected. Anna was FANTASTIC! I called ahead to explain the situation, and she reassured me she could handle it. I dropped the dress off and two days later I had the dress back. It fit perfectly! Anna was friendly and happy to help, and she worked magic. I highly recommend her!

Having had two prom dresses altered here, I brought my daughter in again, this time for her wedding dress. We tried another tailor and were left hanging after a month of fitting appointments with no work being done.
First appointment, the dress was pinned fully (others had only used a few pins and never even got close to what this shop did in 20 minutes).
Second visit most of the dress was done, save for final hemming.
Extremely professional and competent. What seemed like a nightmare with the first two shops turned totally around here. Wedding dresses are her specialty, and it shows!

I took in a J. Crew Wedding Collection dress for hemming. The job was done quickly, and the dress looks great. I would say the alterations are a little expensive. The hemming job was pretty simple and ran a little expensive. Customer service was great though, and I had no problems with the dress being done on time.

Very disappointed by this establishment.
False promises of timeline expectations were made on a Wedding dress alteration. No empathy for the mistake given by any employee.
Only cash accepted which is something they decline to tell you when you call to make an appointment. When told their lack of information and reversing promises was unacceptable, they simply said, «Well, that’s the way it is.»
They also mentioned that they were happy for us to take our business elsewhere if we were unhappy w/​their newfound ideas of customer service.
Stay away from here, unless you really don’t care about when you will actually receive your garment back. Wish I could give zero stars.
