The one time I went here was to buy a microwave meal for dinner, a Marie Callender’s to be specific. The price was somewhere between $.50−1.00 higher than one would find at Kroger, and the store itself was poorly lit. There seemed to be a paucity of staff at the front, and the self-checkout machines were by far the least intuitive I’ve ever used(having experienced the ones at Harris Teeter, Kroger, and Giant). The store did seem cleaner relative to other Food Lions, however. It can definitely be a pain to get across Charlottesville at certain times of day, but other than geographic convenience(the store is near the Mill Creek and Lake Renovia housing developments) I think one would be better served by another of C-ville’s grocery stores. However, location location location, excuse me, I tend to repeat myself, is everything, and I definitely understand overlooking minor savings in price or better selection to avoid a schlep through downtown.
