The Inn at 400 West High

We had the most lovely weekend at the Inn at 400 West High. The location is terrific, walkable to both the downtown mall (C’ville’s main non-​UVa attraction) and the cluster of surrounding shops and restaurants. We stayed in the Altamont Room, which, like the rest of the inn, is beautifully decorated and comfortable with much attention to detail — the steam shower was especially luxurious. And we very much enjoyed delicious, made-​to-​order breakfasts both mornings of our visit. The hospitality is especially notable: We were celebrating during our visit, and some good friends called the inn to surprise us with cupcakes; rather than simply give the inn’s address and a time for delivery, though, the innkeeper insistent on picking up the cupcakes (and a greeting card) herself on behalf of our friends so we’d have the treats on arrival. Her thoughtfulness made an impression on them, and on us! We’re looking forward to staying here again.

This place is a gem! Lovely energy, beautiful, easy location, very comfortable bed & bath… fantastic breakfast. We wish we could have stayed longer!

The B&B was a last minute stop for me. The owner was out of town but had someone meet me at her Inn within 20 minutes of my phone call. The check in was smooth and pleasant. The place was very elegantly decorated. Many little cute accessories. The place was very clean and smelled fresh.
My room had a queen sized bed which was incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious and very pretty. The shower was decorated nicely and the water was hot for a chilly morning. No corners were cut in the presentation of this B&B.
There were homemade cookies when I arrived late at night. A welcome treat.
I did not have the breakfast because I am not a breakfast eater, but there is a chef who prepares food in front of the guests.
I would highly recommend this B&B. Reasonably priced and very comfortable.

This place is beautiful with really nice rooms and a living room area. There is also a beautiful back patio/​garden area. The host is very gracious and breakfast was very fresh. There are also drinks available at all times in the frig and she leaves fruit and granola bars out for snacks. Love this place! I stayed here while going to LOOK3 Festival of the Photography last year (2012). I think one of the photographers who stayed there last year booked up the whole place for this year bc it was totally booked when I tried to reserve. Oh yeah and the Altamont Room room has an incredible shower. IN-​CRE-​DI-​BLE.
