The service is excellent, the bathroom was nice, everything else is nice, but one thing was lacking. it was the chicken tenders were a little bit off then what I usually eat normally. But they were pretty darn good though. I hope the next time I go there I might order something else so I can might give 1 star extra.

We come here once a week, it’s the best Mexican in the capital district. Love the fish tacos, portobello burrito, tampiquena, enchiladas, and margaritas. There are usually interesting specials as well.

Good food most of the time. We have had a couple of nights bit it’s usually pretty good especially considering it’s nowhere near Mexico.

As a Latina from Southern California, finding a good Mexican place outside of The West is hard. Great find in this little town that is Chatham, NY. Destino has outdone itself. The platter with cheese enchiladas and carne asada was just like those you find from your friend’s grandma’s kitchen!!! Cheesy, delicious enchiladas with savory red sauce; carne asada just braised to juicy perfection. Frijoles tasted like they came out of la olla. That margarita was pounding with tequila!

Mediocre Mexican. Chips were stale, salsa was marinara and enchiladas had dry chicken(think they used white meat which would be really odd) and lacked flavor. Atmosphere is nice and I would go back for that. If you lived in CA or AZ or been to Mexico enough do not expect anything close. It’s fine and that’s all. I give it 3 stars because it wasn’t horrible and it is basically what you’d expect for Mexican in this area. Hot sauces were amazing though. Have to give them that.

Not very authentic Mexican food. Have eaten there several times and the food just isn’t that great. In fact, the last meal I got from there was pretty bad. Maybe it was because I got it to go, but I don’t think so. Margaritas are good! Guacamole is good. Staff is nice and helpful.

Maybe I’m biased because I work next door, but Destino is actually my place of worship. I can never get enough.(I also can’t get enough of the Destino kitty, a friendly cat who sometimes hangs out on the porch.) Try the ensalada pepitas or the black bean soup if you’re a vegetarian. Everything you get here will be amazing!

Friend and I stopped in at 7pm on a dreary Saturday night. The place was packed but we still managed to find a seat. We were on time constraint since we had tickets to a show at the Mac-Haydn theater located conveniently a few blocks away within walking distance making this a prime spot to grab some food beforehand or a drink after the show. The service is difficult to rate. We sat ourselves and essentially looked for a waitress. My friend walked up to the bar and asked for a waitress and a girl who I believe was a hostess came and brought us a menu. The bartender who was busy tending bar was kind enough to help expedite our order after my friend explained to him we were in a bit of a rush. Had it not been for him we probably would have had to leave before placing and order. The waitress we had just seemed overwhelmed and uninterested. Onto the food and drink. I got the IPA on tap from the local Chatham brewery and as expected it was everything I needed and wanted at that point. They have a dark and light beer. The bartender came over –not our waitress– to give is chips and salsa. They were great. Hot homemade with homemade salsa. We ordered a quesadilla to split and it was more than enough for the both of us. It was grilled perfectly where the cheese was melted but enough to still give a spotlight to the pulled chicken. So I def recommend this place to check out but if your on a budget more for money than time!

Such great food. Should def have reservation because very popular on weekends during summer. Grab a show at Mac –Hayden then dine here. Burritos and tacos are Fabulous. We come every summer for a show and dinner.

Wonderful staff. Bad fish tacos and tough tough steak. Fish tasted old and had a slight cleaning fluid smell. We hardly ate any of it. Waitress was pleasant. Gave the steak to our dog, threw the fish away. Sorry, can’t go back.

Very nice, fresh, tasty food; good atmosphere, friendly service. Definitely try it out if you like good Mexican food, as opposed to gloppy, cheesy messes. We’ve ordered out from Destino a few times, and also eaten in a few times. It’s never been a bad experience. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. The dishes are light and flavorful, which is the way good, authentic Mexican food should be.(You often get something quite different, but not at Destino.) The de rigeur tortilla chips and guacamole are wonderful. Nice, bold flavors, warm and perfectly salted chips. We even once ordered nachos, which I thought would be a cinema-style trainwreck, but they were delicious and caused no heartburn. We’ve also had the platanos maduros, quite delicious. For my main, I think I’ve almost always ordered the vegetarian Plaza Tacos de Puebla, which are really delicious. Unlike so many other tacos I’ve had, they don’t feel like a brick in your digestive tract. The flavors are bold where they need to be, but also subtle. I’ve dined there with plenty of meat eaters, and while I can’t quite remember the dishes they had, they’ve always been very happy. All in all a nice option in Columbia County. So many Mexican restaurants give Mexican food a bad name, but not this one. It shows exactly how flavorful, subtle, and delicious *real* Mexican food is, both for omnivores and vegetarians.

My wife and I have eaten in Mexican restaurants from San Francisco to New York City and Destino more than holds it own. In a time when most now charge for chips and salsa, Destino offers free unlimited. We always bring our out of town guests and they all love it. You’ll also find the local Hispanic community there often so you know that he food is authentic. Wonderful varied, creative menu. The fajitas are amazing and priced as a bargain. Desserts are to die for. Very dedicated, hard working, and dedicated wait staff. Overall, one of the best, most reliable restaurants in the area.
