Applebee’s

I’m surprised Unilocal people! We enjoyed a successful and delicious lunch here. Friendly staff, excellent waitress, hot food delivered in a timely manner. If I’d checked the rating before I went, we may have opted for something else, but the location was so convenient, and did not disappoint. Rented games on the table-​top tablet, and the 9 YO was thrilled.

Look, it’s not supposed to be the finest meal you’ve ever had. But it’s solid, particularly the burgers. And late night happy hour is legit. For the price, it’s food that does the trick and tastily so. Yes, that’s a word. Get over it. Bar staff is always great.

They just kept bringing patrons in then forgetting them. Dirty dishes pilled up at the left corner patio table by a disgruntled waitress– eyesore! They (3 staff mbrs) waited on everyone else but us. Mind you the others were also complaining! What a joke.,

Bad, bad, bad.
I asked for a few considerations since I don’t eat meat or dairy. For example, I just asked if I could have the side veggies without butter. No explanation, just «no.»
Surprising, but life’s too short so I moved on. I guess I was labeled as a problem customer because I had to chase down the bartender to even get another beer. Sorry, but I wasn’t trying to be cantankerous, I’ve just changed my eating habits since a bout with cancer.
Applebee’s is the only chain that doesn’t even try to work with me. Okay, there are other choices. Good luck to you. God bless.

Ordered the savory cedar salmon. Service was reasonably fast, though it seemed to be a slow night. The server was courteous and affable, and was a highlight of the meal. HE ALSO WAS NOT DONNIE DARKO, SO THAT WAS A PLUS. As for the food, it was middle of the road. The salmon had a good amount of flakiness, but the size of the salmon left me wanting more. The sauce on the salmon was very good. The side that came with the salmon was the worst part. The greens were soggy and the potatoes were a little hard, though the peas were good. DONNIE DARKO WAS ON THE TV, THOUGH. THEY TRIED TO GET ME TO WATCH IT. I HATE THAT MOVIE. I WOULD RANK THAT MOVIE AS THE WORST MOVIE OF THE LAST 40 YEARS, EVEN BELOW ANY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE, WHICH STARRED CLINT EASTWOOD. Overall, I would recommend this place, but watch out for the greens AND DONNIE DARKO. DO NOT WATCH IT.

I made a Unilocal account just so I could vent about our horrible dining experience here. When you go to an Applebee’s, you aren’t going to expect great food, and that’s ok. However, this was probably the worst service I have ever received at any restaurant, ever. Our waiter, James, essentially ruined our entire dining out experience. It all began when he brought out the wrong food. Then, he never even bothered to fill up our drinks– we had to flag him down multiple times before he did so. However, the worst part was when we were trying to pay the bill. He took over 15 minutes to bring the check once asked for, and it was completely wrong. We asked him to fix it and a half hour later, he and the check were nowhere to be found. Overall, it took us over a half hour to pay the bill. It was obvious he completely forgot about our table and didn’t even apologize for it. Absolutely awful service with mediocre food– go to Chili’s across the street instead.

Sometimes, a chain it is.
First visit, just happened to be in the ‘hood and a «lunch deal» of some sort that wasn’t a cold sandwich with chips sounded good. $ 7.99 got me a solid hamburger and a diet coke. Good fries, tasty enough burger.
I happened by again and have to admit– I’d been fighting off a craving for bar-​food-​style-​fried mozz for a few days. 3 – 7, half price — done!
I wouldn’t pay full price for the cheese just for me (at 3.50 it was enough about 5pm that I didn’t end up eating dinner, having enjoyed about ¾ of the basket) but they were solid and to share, especially at a special price, well, I’d do that again. Other food picks from the app/​starter part of the menu are also half price at this time, and there are drink specials, too.
Nice people work here, and it seems like a fairly regular crowd at this downtown C-​town location.

We usually get the chicken fajita Rollup. I think it is a great sandwich and usually get it with a coke and fries but today I got broccoli.
I use this restaurant to call it in and pick up to take home mostly but I have dined in with a friend or two.
It’s located at the intersection of Market Street and 4^th Street.
Now, for a little bit of history of its spot.
There used to be a bank here. But, they tore it down and built Applebee’s. However, before the bank it was there was a building here called the Armory Building which was a general store and a hotel and then, a prison. It was a 3 story building and was used as a hospital believe it or not during the civil war and at one time even a court house back in the late 1800’s. See the book written by Rob Clifton called Chattanooga Then and Now on a history write up about this very spot on page 94.
Anyway, I found nothing wrong with my dinner. The waitress was very friendly too as she took care of me fast. I do not know why the other reviews are so low and so many. I just think it deserves better than this though.
As far as parking is concerned, I find a meter to park at on one of the secondary roads, for free after 4 pm and all day on Saturday and Sunday.
I work all week and come down here to have fun and to think of something else besides work or school. Down town just keeps getting better and better especially on this side of the river.
When I come down town, I visit this side of the river about 98 percent of the time. I rarely go to the other side of the river. Mainly, because everything I like is on thus side and near Applebee’s.

Next time you forget about a table you might wanna be nice and get us things when we ask. We both said water with lemon and it took me asking you twice to get it. Get appetizers and no silverware! Asked me if I wanted my salad before meal I said yes. I get it with my meal… worst experience I’ve ever gotten from a restaurant. And don’t call my husband sweet heart when I’m gone. He didn’t even. Wanna tip you but I made him only cause I’m a server myself. A discount would of been nice. You gave all the other tables great service and we were the first people in your section but it took you 15 min to figure that out. Wow do you even wanna serve. Your manager is the only nice thing about that place. Yall were empty while Chili’s had a 20 min wait.

Not a good experience at Applebee’s tonight. First, we sat outside but there was a big party outside watching a football game. According to our waitress they had been there for about six hours so they were good and lubricated (and loud), if you know what I mean. On top of that, a homeless man came in on his wheelchair and squeezed behind our table to plug up his stuff in an outlet and start smoking. He was obviously not a paying customer. Not sure why Applebee’s allows this. It was very uncomfortable to have him right over my shoulder. We decided to move inside which was better. Then our food came. I had ordered a Berry Chicken salad with no cheese. It came out missing half of the ingredients. When I asked about it, the waitress told me they were out of blueberries and not sure where the pecans were. Maybe they should have told me they were out when I was ordering. She did bring me some pecans and extra strawberries to replace the missing blueberries. Overall, this was a very disappointing dinner. Not the waitresses fault but will think twice about coming back to this location.

Had a very bad experience here. First off we had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks. It was a draft beer and a Margarita that i know they dont hand make! Second, a manager will walk by us plenty of times never taking a second to apologize or say anything at all to us.

Wow… 30 minute wait for a drink? Seriously… Stay away if you see a big crowd… They can’t handle it at this location, at least not after 10pm.
