This is a tough one to rate. And not just because it literally is an old school barber shop with the spin chairs and chatting barbers, combined with a laundromat, complete with folding tables and drying hooks, and one of those wire carts for changing from washer to dryer. Down the street from me(two blocks), it’s very convenient. = 3 stars Laundry is $ 1 a load for wash and $ 0.50 for dry. = 5 stars(other places in town are between $ 2 – 3 a load for either) Condition of the machines = 2 stars. Only one washer and one dryer currently working = 1 star(though I was lucky today and was the only one who needed them at the time). Random guy who creepily come up to me with the line: «Where is your husband?» followed by «You don’t have one? Will you marry me? I adore you. I bet you’re my age» and have to be told«NO. This conversation is over.» Oh, and«NO» again, when he tried to keep the(one-sided) conversation going. Then talked about you to one of the other guys hanging out four feet away = negative how many stars(I got my stuff out of the dryer early)? I don’t know what all this really amounts to — probably a 2.5? — and I’d give more for the location and price(though old, the machines seem to have done the job ok) if it weren’t for the guys hanging around the shop. Glad they are not open at night, because I’d definitely not feel comfortable going after dark.
