It is opening day at the Niblic, the café, gift shop, crafts store at the Chebeague Island Boat Yard.
Good, strong local coffee, fresh-​baked muffins, breakfast sandwiches on terrific herbed biscuits … this is where to get your eyes opened up.
There is also an excellent selection of wines and beers.
I love lolly gagging on the deck in the morning, mesmerized by the 180 degree panorama of Casco Bay, just a few steps away. Makes it tough to concentrate on the latest issue of The Working Waterfront !
