The Garlic Festival in Chehalis was fun! Steve went here a couple of years ago and motivated me to go here since the point of this festival is to celebrate garlic! There is all kinds of food here with garlic in it. Some of it is done well while others I think are just created to generate a gross out factor. A perfect example would be garlic ice cream. I was warned away from that and pretty much just stuck to the harmless stuff where garlic has a welcome place. The main food vendors are really your typical town fair variety so greasy, fast food style foodstuffs is the norm here. I got some fries with garlic on top and after a while it just got too strong and overpowering to really enjoy. I did get a corn on the cob dipped in garlic butter and that was actually very good! But the main reason why I even wanted to go was that the festival also sells garlic beer. This was a kind of beer I never had before and I was eager to give it a try. The beer was suprisingly good and enjoyable! Now I can say I tried just such a beer right next to my pizza pale ale! The beer was brewed by the same brewery that makes Dick’s Danger Ale. The garlic beer however is exclusive to the festival only and I don’t think you can get it at the brewery and it is not sold in stores. Many of the vendors accept credit or debit cards but you will need cash to pay for the entrance fee(which is $ 5) as well as for most of the food vendors and beer. They only take cash at the wine tasting too.(No, they did not have garlic wine) There were lots of other vendors selling crafts, knick knacks, salsas, candy and so much more! Probably the vendor that attracted me the most was a lady selling jelly. The lady was from Aberdeen and had over a hundred different kinds of jelly. She had several kinds of savory jellies and of course they had garlic in them. She had a garlic and dill and a garlic and rosemary jellies which were amazing! She said these jellies would pair well with cheese, like Brie for example. She had some amazing pepper jellies and of course sweet jellies as well. The name of the jelly vendor was Jammees and to place orders with her you can call(360) 532‑3170 or you can go to The garlic festival was a lot of fun and a unique event! I can’t see myself going to this event once a year but it was fun and if I want to show off to foodie friends of mine and take them to a unique festival then this would be a good place to go!

The parking is free and it only costs $ 5 to get in. Lots of food and craft vendors and PLENTY of garlic foods to go around. Garlic fries, onion rings, hot dogs, sausages, turkey legs, pasta. Also weird things like alligator on a stick! Most places take cards but there are many ATM locations to use if you need some cash.

The Garlic Fest is an awesome place to get everything garlic. From just plain garlic cloves to cheese to ice cream to garlic fudge, this place has it all. Parking is FREE and they even have craft booths set up here as well. This festival was a nice way to spend an afternoon, drinking garlic beer and leaving smelling like garlic.
