What good fortune we had when we made a wrong turn and found ourselves in front of the Rum Runner. Being hungry for lunch and seeing the cozy fire, we were drawn in. With a nice atmosphere and a friendly welcome from Kari, we felt we had made a good choice of eateries. We were right. The fish and chips were perfect and the reuben sandwich was delicious. A nice place with friendly staff and great food made for a delightful experience. We will definitely make the wrong turn to enjoy this spot again.

Great atmosphere for sit down dining… certainly this isn’t your Friday night bar… I had the Flat Iron steak and it was delicious and butter tender… the cream Brule was done to prefection. The happy hour menu wasn’t available when we arrived, however, it has some great items priced nicely. We will be back!

Great hang-out with a good menu variety. The food is well-prepared and the service good. Full bar, fun décor/theme.The fire-pit in the center of the room is an excellent feature during the cold, rainy months — my favorite area to relax with a drink and shoot-the-sh*t.

Went here on Friday night at 9 to have a late dinner and drinks. After waiting 27 minutes for a beer that wasn’t what my boyfriend order and a cherry coke, we decided ordering dinner was a bad idea. There was a total of 5 people who work there but only 1 who was clocked in(this is what we were told). The girl working didn’t know the bar, how to ring us out, or what to do with maybe 15 customers in the bar. The other employees that were there but not clocked in, just made fun of her and wouldn’t help her. This was a horrible experience. I felt bad for the girl who has only worked there a week and the owners to have such crappy other employees who represent their restaurant.

Good food. Crappy service. Not server’s fault though. She was working hard. Very apologetic. Sorely understaffed. Bad management.

We stopped here for dinner as we headed north on I-5 and were so happy we did. The bar featured Ledbetters Irish Red and TCW apricot cider. Both were amazingly delicious. My husband and I both had hamburgers and fries… among the top 5 best we’ve ever had. The bartender was helpful and friendly. The ambiance was warming on a chilly night. The free standing fire bowl was a great idea. We will definitely be back.

This place typifies the saying«don’t judge a book by its cover.» You come in expecting the typical bar food fare but when your food comes out it’s a pleasant surprise. The food is exceptional and well presented. I highly recommend the flat iron steak. It’s amazing. It’s a gem in the otherwise boring restaurant experience in Chehalis. Give them a try.

Was in town for work and wandered in while out exploring because the cool ambience appealed to me. The bartender was amazing, so attentive and sweet. Great happy hour specials and delicious food. I got the ceviche which I was very impressed with!

This place is a hidden gem! At least it was hidden for us that were not from the area. Very cute setup for the bar. Many tables, firepit &TONS of board games to play. Bartender that was there was very friendly and kept us entertained since we were the only ones in the bar at the time. Go here with a group of friends for some drinks and Cards Against Humanity!

There are so many things good with Rum Runners, the décor is pretty great; Nautical/pirate themed, wood everywhere, nets on the ceiling, latrine in the bathroom, etc. The couches they have for kicking back and drinking cocktails are nice and firm, and the overall ambiance I thought was well thought out and executed. The service was prompt and friendly, our server did a really good job answering questions and I ended up ordering some very tasty ceviche and a beer while my friends tried a couple of their very generous«bucket» drinks. That part of the experience I would say was 5 stars. The reason I gave three is because Rum Runners has no AC, no fans to speak of and I didn’t bring a thermometer with me but I am pretty sure on the 95 degree day that we decided to go, it was probably 98 in the building. I really can’t understand such a glaring oversight and I can’t see going back to this place until they either fix that issue. That and the fact that half the cocktail lounge part of the establishment isn’t lit by anything after the sun goes down. It looked like they had lights there but did not bother to turn them on. Made us feel like the place was closing at 8pm.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon, and ordered two meals with drinks and dessert. My order was taquitos which came with«house made» rice and beans. The taquitos were greasy and the chicken filling very bland. The beans looked and tasted like the came out of a can and the Spanish rice had corn and peas in it. Reminded my of bad Chinese takeout. The guacamole tasted store bought and was very acidic and runny. Our second order was the Monte Cristco sandwhich. It came out hot and the fries tasted fresh. We also had the bread pudding, which was soggy and again bland. The bartender/server was very knowledgeable, knew how to upsell and was polite. He was able to describe the flavor profiles of a few beers and offered a small sample. Overall I wouldn’t recommend to anyone unless you’re only getting drinks.

Excellent and friendly customer service from all staff and prompt service upon arriving. There was an issue with one of the meals(hence 4 stars), it was promptly and sincerely remedied by our waiter. In a small town, customer service primarily makes or breaks. This establishment makes the customers feel welcomed with their prompt friendly service, and went above and beyond.

Excellent food! A++ I have eaten here three times now, and every meal has been amazimg! Applebees is stupid in comparison to RunRunners. Best food with the best prices that you’ll find anywhere in Lewis County, WA.

Everything was great, the food, the service, the atmosphere. Couldn’t ask for anything that would have made our dinner experience better. I will highly recommend the restaurant to all my friends.

We ordered to go… He had the salmon and I special-requested my fajitas as a quesadilla. We enjoyed talking with other folks at the bar and checking out the décor while we waited — very friendly, very clean, plenty of things to check out without being cluttered. And the food was great! Generous portions for the money, & delicious! Would definitely go back.

Went on a Saturday night and the service was very slow. Waitress wasn’t very friendly. Drinks were good… dinner not so much. Had the Monte Cristo and it was very greasy. Fries were cold. A friend had the chicken strips and they tasted like fish. Fish tacos weren’t that great either. Salads looked pretty big. Might come back for drinks around the fire pit, but will not return for the food.

Great food, excellent service! They were super busy on a Friday night and had plenty of staff to cover everyone’s needs. Both owners approached us at separate times asking how things were. Only one teeny complaint, I got a very small portion of fries, but it ended up being okay because I got full on the superbly cooked fish. Will definitely go back again, and again!

Just enjoyed my first visit to the recently opened Rum Runners and they really seem to have hit the ground running. They have maintained the ambience of the former establishment while giving it their own stamp with a great menu, a super selection of signature drinks and friendly service. I actually ordered the Alaskan King crab with perfectly cooked asparagus spears, tasty sautéed mushrooms and roasted potatoes. I mean it was delicious! Got to chat with the new owner and was quite impressed with the drive and enthusiasm these kids are bringing into this community. I will definitely make this a regular stop in my journeys.
