Slow service. Took two hours for breakfast, and the food wasn’t even good! The syrup tasted watered down. The Swiss was not even melted into the omelet. A fly circled our heads the entire meal. I feel gross for having even consumed the food. Go somewhere else!

After a couple of friends’ recommendations, I really wanted to like this place. My family went for Breakfast on a Thursday morning. The place was less than half full, but still the service was slow. A table that sat after we did got waited on and got their food way before our table. When the food finally came out… what a let down. The scrambled eggs were runny and raw, I sent it back but I got pretty much the same thing as the last time. Our blueberry pancakes were dry and overcooked. The home fries literally came in a nice puddle of grease… very unattractive to say the least. The only thing that they got right was the toast, which is store-bought, so there you go. Sorry, but I was really looking for a good experience. I don’t think it’s worth it to give it another shot.

Love this spot. Perfect size and atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the food is wonderful. So many selections. Something for everyone on the menu. Specials are great and change often. Fish chowder is great.

My 3 yr old daughter was crying and upset and we asked to use the bathroom(def an emergency if you are a parent-you know what I mean). Well they said no! And we have gone to this place every Sunday to eat breakfast… THEYWON’T HAVEOURBUSINESSANYMORE. let’s do the math… Sunday breakfast times at 15 – 20 bucks a week times 52 weeks! I guess they don’t need my 750 or so bucks a year(a low average) …according to other surveys that were bad I’m not suprised. Talk about a business with no true leader.

I’ve been working in the area for 3 years and always wanted to try it out, so glad I did! I’ve been there about 6 times since I originally went and have ordered nothing but the turkey salad sandwich. You can’t find turkey salad at too many restaurants and Jessie’s is fantastic! Not a lot of mayo and plenty of it. Potato and Mac Salad are homemade and delicious. The stuffed pepper soup was amazing. If you like a neighborhood type of joint where you’d expect the waitresses to call you hun then you won’t be disappointed.

My family and I love Jessie’s Place for the service more than anything. We are there almost every weekend now because the people that work there just make you feel like family. My daughter won’t go anywhere else for breakfast now. The food is great, my husband is very particular about his omelets, he doesn’t like them to greasy or too dry. I get a variety of things and I’ve never had a bad meal.

One of the better Eggs Benny I’ve had in a long time. I ordered Eggs Benny with ham & spinach, homefries with onions and fresh fruit. Coffee was plentiful. I was more than happy with my meal, it was delish! I was there with a friend who has mobility challenges and they were great with him. I would definitely go back!

Filthy and disgusting. «Corned beef hash»? I swear it was dinty moore beef stew under my eggs… hollandaise right out of a package. on plates right out of a yard sale. Coffee took 4 creamers to lighten. Plastic plants harboring months of dust and filth. One of the worst breakfast experiences. was just in the area and figured, how bad can it be? Welp. this has it covered.

I was really disappointed by my experience here today. Came in with my significant other, for a mid morning breakfast. There were 2 people at the bar, and one table seated in the very small dining room. We were told to choose our seat, and we did. I was awkwardly noticed by one of the staff members for a tattoo on my back. Thank you for acknowledging that you liked it, but not appropriate for table-talk. We sat down and ordered, and waited 25 minutes for over medium eggs and fruit. We weren’t in a rush, so it wasn’t a huge deal– but the place was dead– and we ordered eggs. We happened to sit underneath the air conditioning, and it was on full blast. Nice touch for a summer day, but sitting right below it was uncomfortable and we decided to move a table over, so that it wasn’t blowing directly on me. When the waitress came over, I mentioned the reason behind moving was it was cold, and she rolled her eyes. It wasn’t busy, and us moving wasn’t meant to aggravate you. We moved all of our stuff by ourselves, so I don’t really see why it would be a hassle on your end. While eating our food, we were swarmed by fruit flies. Not one or two– several of them. I understand– it’s a restaurant, and sometimes fruit flies are to be expected. But I don’t really want to spend my morning breakfast swatting them away. When the waitress came over mid-meal, I tried explaining this to her, and she shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes. My verbal response was«Seriously?»(Not sure if she heard me). I explained the fruit flies and my frustration because I wanted her to be aware. Nothing more, nothing less. Apparently, I was making her day a difficult one. Sorry I wanted to give you my money for service and a decent meal. The only positive part of this experience, was the bubbly and smiling young girl who introduced herself as the owners daughter. She was cute and pleasant– she should have been serving. Other than that, our experience was not one I would share with others in a positive note, and I will not be back.

Dirty– gross– food is bad! Never will go again. The bar was filled with all dirty dishes and no one eating there. The bathroom was dirty.

The staff is friendly and always happy. I eat here all the time. The food is homemade and made with love. Not to mention she with the help of the staff and friends feed the community on the second Monday of the month. There is a couple of soups to choose from, 3 or 4 entrée and desserts. The people who really need a free meal have fun and feel welcomed, the staff has fun and the other members of the community have a blast. You leave feeling great that you witnessed people helping people. We need more places like Jessie’s Place giving back to the community.

I had a very good eggs Benedict breakfast here. I did get a orange juice with my breakfast and the cup was mini(a very small child’s cup) disappointing. Small but clean inside however the door was left open as there was a screened door and I was freezing. Owner or waitress was very welcoming with a big smile and very kind.

55 minute wait with ongoing apologies… food was rushed out undercooked… will give it another shot but some coaching from owners down needs to be in place

My hash was made with scrambled hamburger instead of corned beef which was not delicious at all. I will not return and would not recommend.

Opened by a former waitress at Skips(practically a historical landmark in Chelmsford that closed its doors years ago), Jessie’s Place occupies a space formerly housing Jack’s, which also closed its doors several years ago.(Jack’s was replaced by Flaky Pastry, which lasted less than a year. Flaky P opened at the height of the hoopla surrounding the Atkins Diet, so it never stood a chance.) Jessie kept the same footprint as Jack’s but prepares food similar to Skips’. Am I confusing you yet? All three places I’d consider townie joints, which isn’t bad. My friends and I ordered a cheese omelette with wheat toast, eggs Benedict, and a BLT on wheat. My omelette was a bit greasy, but otherwise decent, and the home fries were crispy and seasoned. The owner(Jessica Kelley) was friendly and personable, and our order came quickly. Not many were in the place at 1 pm. The menu offers salads, burgers, comfort foods, breakfast items, soups, seafood, and Italian food, all reasonably priced. The meals are no muss, no fuss. Jessie’s also has a full liquor license and serves wines, mixed drinks, beer, and other alcoholic beverages. We’d probably come back for a quick bite, even though I’d rate the establishment 3 stars.

This 4 star review is based on the fact that I had one really yummy breakfast dish here, and it’ll be at least another year before I return since I don’t live in Chelmsford, so there’s no way this review can be tainted by a second possibly bad visit any time soon. I ordered the eggs benedict. The fancier one with grilled onions, spinach and tomato — hold the tomato. It was $ 8 and change and really delicious. The hollandaise sauce was smooth and tasty — maybe it could have been a little tangier -, the canadian bacon had just the right amount of salt to offset the onions and spinach, the home fries were great! The potatoes aren’t like normal home fries, they’re like… battered and fried but not greasy, just fun to eat. Service was fine, ambiance was so so but plenty of tables were taken at 1pm on a Sunday afternoon.

Atmosphere was great but the food was bad, especially the corned beef hash. Presentation was poor at best — the corned beef hash looked like it was run over with a truck, skid marks on both sides. Don’t order anything that has the corned beef hash. It tasted very bad. What’s keeping the place in business — if you can’t serve a good cup of coffee or simple scrambled eggs, I wondered if the chef ever learned how to cook. 1 star for a clean place, but that’s it. I will never eat at Jessie’s again.

Talk about the quintessential small down diner/lunch counter. We went to Jessie’s for breakfast. The counter seats were all taken up ‘the regulars,’ folks on a first name basis with the waitresses. The décor is a mish mosh of this and that… not anything that would make Jessie’s a destination. Things were okay… not spectacular but not horrible. We couldn’t figure out the potatoes; they seemed like processed, deep fried squares o’ spud rather than traditional home fries. The omelet was okay, too. I really like their coffee… dark roast. I wouldn’t go out of my way for Jessie’s but it does feel like the morning community spot to catch up on local news and events.

The Mediterranean Haddock was blissful, great veggies, no breading, very satisfying. My husband had the chicken parm — that was a winner, too. Generous portions, we both got boxes to go for another meal. Note: the bar is close to the tables, and there is a TV on. We prefer quiet dining, or good music. Hearing the TV drone was annoying. It can get noisy at times. Next time we will go «off peak,» before the bar gets busy.

Um. Yeah. So a few years back I lived in Chelmsford, MA… and there is a definate shortage of good eateries in the area… especially when it comes to breakfast. Believe it or not, in Chelmsford I actually think Friendly’s is probably the best choice for breakfast at the moment: So I used to frequent Skip’s Restaurant: …back when it was open… and breakfast was ok. Nothing great… nothing awful… just average. So I figured when I heard that someone from Skips’ decided to open up their own place not far down the road, I was expecting that this was going to be done right… a nice comfy little breakfast/sandwich shop… where regulars could go, share some laughs and enjoy some good eats at a good price. From the moment I stepped in, I wanted to like this place. A nice looking bar as soon as you walk in… booths along the side… with a few more in back. Small spot, but clean looking and warm to the senses. I expected this Sunday morning would be packed… as my buddy and I had a later than usual start for breakfast. It was steady, but not overflowing. We were quickly seated in a booth… and had a good impression as many of the patrons were talking with the staff as if they were regulars. Good sign. Coffee came. If you like Starbucks coffee that has been sitting in its pot for a while, you’ll be a big fan of this coffee. I had to douse this thing with cream and sugar to make it palpable. Had the Special #4…which included two eggs(I like mine over medium)…home fries… toast and hash. So my buddy gets the same thing. Out comes breakfast. Wow…0 points on presentation,(see pic). Eggs are obviously dripping with grease… toast a bit burnt, deep fried home fries… not the grilled kind, in fact, the exact same ones you’ll find at Friendly’s. And hash. At least I think it’s hash. Now Skip’s had a roast beef hash that was actually pretty good. Well…the pile of hash-like substance in front me: 1) Had the crap cooked out of it. 2) Smelled of something peculiar. 3) With a taste that was no better… so maybe I am wrong, the crap wasn’t cooked out of it. 1 bite was 1 bite too many. Longer story short… I ate the eggs… at least they were cooked over medium. And the toast was good. I am not sure why the regulars come back, but I should have paid better attention to what THEY were eating. $ 20 between the two of us without tip. A bit steep for food that was less than average.(I am trying to be nice when I say less than average) Staff seemed friendly… but our waitress didn’t even bat an eyelash when bussing our full plates. You’d think she would have commented on why we didn’t eat much… Maybe that is par for course? Bummer. I wanted Jessie’s Place to be good. Fear not, Chelmsford… head up Route 3 a few exits to Exit 34… where a place called Comet’s is dying to feed ya right:
