Moonstone’s has that ‘The day after the club’ feel. Modern, chic, and dim-litted. I went to Mother’s Day brunch with my mom. The selection of food was limited but we both found something we wanted to try. First, I had the specialty gourmet donut which $ 7. Then, I had the red velvet pancakes which were delicious. They were nice and fluffy with a good red color to it. My mom and an omelette which was fluffy but filling! I recommend going here on special occasions

Delicious tapas tonight! We started with a dozen oysters and tuna tartar. Followed by an amazing beet and whipped goat cheese salad. We finished with scallops, buffalo blue calamari and the short ribs. Our server was super nice and personable.

I’ve done lunch and brunch, but not dinner. At Mother’s Day brunch, I had the delicious lobster benedict and a mimosa. The food was delicious and the waitstaff so friendly. It was a bit hectic, but it was a holiday. I also noticed the make your own Bloody Mary bar– intriguing! A few weeks later, I came for a celebratory lunch. It was much quieter mid-week, so the service was excellent. I really enjoyed the white sangria with my meal. The shrimp po-boy was fine, but didn’t blow my mind. I was more into the oysters, Korean wings, and truffle french fries. I like the décor, but feel the outside of the building could use a little sprucing. I’ll be back for dinner at some point– I saw duck poutine on the menu!

The customer service at this restaurant is spectacular. Our first night there was last weekend, and we were treated very well. Asked for a specific table, and the manager was very accommodating. The staff all seemed friendly. Our waitress, Hannah, was very knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. Great service! The oysters were outstanding. The baby beet tapas was good, but could use more goat cheese and/or flavor. Something was missing, but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was exactly. The scallops(tapas) were cooked well, but the bacon was completely unnecessary and took over the flavor. I could’ve been eating anything because all I tasted was bacon. There’s nothing like a perfectly cooked scallop that is the star of the dish, and this wasn’t it. The beet ravioli tapas(yes, I love beets!) was excellent. Hannah gave us a heads up that the sauce was very sweet and a bit like marzipan. That is exactly what it tasted like, by the way! It was a pleasant flavor that complemented the beets and homemade pasta, but we scraped some off because it was a bit much with the almond/sweetness. Smoked fish(tapas) was just okay. It was exactly what it said it was: smoked fish paté. Nothing special. Ended the night with a perfect cappuccino. Really fun place to try new dishes. I would go back and try some different tapas, or maybe an entrée next time.

We went there for the first time this past Saturday night, and I was a bit disappointed unfortunately. The good: fantastic armchairs in the dining room and a decent overall ambiance. The not so good: fairly high prices and frankly mediocre food. I got the chicken and shrimp picatta. It wasn’t really bad, but it was bland. The slightly overcooked shrimp looked they were supermarket frozen shrimp that had been boiled. The chicken, cooked ok, but slightly tough, and again, seemed of mediocre supermarket quality. The pasta itself was pretty good, and it was properly cooked. The sauce was decent, but somewhat lacking in flavor. I expected better. GF got a mexican corn soup-pretty good but not mind blowing, a grilled romaine salad that was soggy and sort of pathetic, and a cauliflower dish that was, yet again, just ok. All the food just seemed lacking in love, as if the chef wasn’t passionate about his craft. It’s not terrible, but the food is not up to their pretensions or their prices. I probably won’t be back.

Try the lobster grilled cheese! Great service but a little on the pricey side, but definitely cool for a nice date night. Very upscale atmosphere.

I was lured here by a friend who was told by another mutual friend about their amazing dollar oysters specials. Not being ones to pass up on an affordable mollusk, we ventured out for dinner on a Monday night. At our dismay, upon our arrival, we learned dollar oysters only happens between the hours of 4−6PM. We were seated well after 7PM. Not the restaurant’s fault. The restaurant was definitely swanky, not for the ratched-inclined clientele. Our waiter was an Asian gentleman whose name I can’t recall. He was pleasant and very informative as we asked about the interesting appetizer menu item that screamed out at us, «Cambodian peanuts». He explained it was exactly as what each of our parents would make. We gave him the Cambodia nod and moved on. The menu is half entrée(large plate) and half tapas. We only came for the oysters, but ended up sitting at a tiny table with 7 plates of tapas PLUS our oysters on a half shell. Here’s what we ordered and what we thought: Oysters: Fresh and plump. Highly recommended. French Fries Duck«Crack» Poutine: A little bit too salty and soggy for my liking, but we still killed it… cuz, they’re fries. Duck Sliders: A little on the sweeter side but the steamed bun balances it out just right. Seared Scallops: I love scallops and you really can’t go wrong with cooking these unless you over salt them and then burn them, which they did not do. Decent. Buffalo Calamari: I don’t know why ordered this. I mean I love calamari but I hate buffalo sauce. These tasted just as you would imagine. Bleh. Pork tacos: I don’t remember eating these. Maybe they were good, maybe they were bad. We’ll never know. Embutido Bomberio: These are basically kielbasas and chorizo sausages set on fire. Yes, it was flaming. Unfortunately, it tasted like any other sausage you can get at the deli aisle and then set it on fire. Don’t get it. Baby Beets: THEBESTONE. These were perfectly plated and so refreshing on the palate. We both loved these beets. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. The only negative I would have to mention was our seating. Granted, they had normal tables in the middle of the room, but we were seated along the wall where there is a wrap around couch so you’re basically seated really close to the table next to you, which I did not like. It lacked privacy. Luckily, I was just with a friend so it wasn’t too much of a big deal. Both our neighbors to the left and right of us awwed at our table of food so that was a little awkward. I wouldn’t say I would go back for the tapas, but I would go back for the oysters(for a dollar) and those baby beets.

Breathtaking! One of the words to describe this restaurant. An absolutely beautiful atmosphere, from the wall décor to the furniture, it was really aesthetically pleasing. Our waiter was friendly, prompt and helpful with deciding on what to order. We ordered a bunch of tapas, including the shrimp tempura, Cesar salad, grilled romaine, pork belly sliders, eggplant/tofu, dumplings, mushroom risotto and a couple other things. I was blown away. It was a great assortment and I’m happy I got to try a good amount of them. I’ll definitely have to come back to try the rest of the tapas!

Had this place on the list for a few years now. Mostly for the bloody mary bar! Enjoyed the bubbly breakfast much more than the bm. Fairly basic offererings for add ins. Would go back for that or maybe I’ll try the burger. That looked very tasty.

I’ve been here twice for brunch with my Meetup group and both times loved it. Be warned that the place is very popular and reservations are highly recommended. You can make them for up to a party of 6 people directly on the restaurant’s website. The second time I went, which was this past Sunday, I had the«Bubbly Breakfast» which was an awesome deal for $ 20; scrambled eggs with hollandaise sauce, about 4 strips of thick bacon lightly seasoned with brown sugar, their Spanish style potatoes that are out of this world good, a few mini red velvet pancakes with mascarpone cheese and a peach bellini(hence, the bubbly.) Our server was wonderful. Also, the restaurant is gorgeous, and not something you would expect in the suburbs. I’m definitely returning at some point with a few girlfriends to hang out in the gorgeous bar area on a weekend night.

Awesome place to eat. Atmosphere is great. Appears to be mostly business«professionals». Always quiet when I’ve been there in the past. Even when packed it’s never seemed to be roaring loud. Bar service is amazing. Food options are all very interesting and really good. Their burger is to die for. The steak is outstanding and actually cooked the way you request. The fish, especially salmon is delicious. All the way down to the fries and salads are truly delectable. Their several varieties of Bloody Mary are extremely good and some are even so thick they’re edible! Note: I’ve never seen the late night life… In my opinion… The only thing that is odd about the place is the variety of music. Everything else is all around great… Including location right off two highways and two main roads. I’ll definitely return.

To be honest, this place was disappointing. We went for Sunday brunch in a group of 6 and initially I was excited as the inside is pretty cool looking and the bar and raw bar look really nice. The first issue was the brunch menu — it was pretty uninspiring. They had french toast, omelette, a burger, etc. but nothing really made me that excited. On top of it, I had to question why they were charging $ 5.50 for frozen grapes with pecans and feta… really? Everyone at the table agreed that seemed a bit silly. We finally ordered and had a mix of appetizers with cocktails, coffee, and then some main dishes. Things came out separately and the donut my brother ordered for an appetizer never came(until he mentioned it at the end and then asked for it to go). The shrimp and the oysters were served on the same dish which seemed a little odd to me. The tuna tartare really lacked flavor(and I love tuna tartare) but the bread/cracker it was served with was good. The truffle parmesan fries were very good, however. Then came two big disappoints: I ordered the frittata with exotic mushrooms, cheese, and arugula. What I got was a thick eggy omelette, regular cooked mushrooms and cheese on top, topped with arugula. I’ve never been served a frittata without the ingredients inside and this was just really not a good dish. The mushrooms were not exotic and they were not seasoned well and there was not enough cheese. The other disappointment was that my husband’s burger, aside from being the last thing served, was cold and served without the ‘killer mayo’(which he said didn’t really taste different from regular mayo). The manager came over and offered to bring a new burger and take it off the bill, which was nice, and they brought over some chorizo in maple syrup on the house, as well. Overall, this place is nice and maybe they do better for dinner(my sister-in-law has been for happy hour and she loved it) but skip it for brunch. It’s not cheap and although the service is good(our waitress was very nice), the food is just not up to par.

Outstanding bar service. Generously served drinks… The lobster cocktail was very good, excellent portion, very fresh, and the Thai cocktail sauce was on point. The pork tacos were tasty, and well portioned for a tapas lace. The best part, the coconut guava pudding… AMAZING!

Usually when I hear the word fusion I think it’s more so Americanized ethnic food but Moonstone is in a category of its own. I feel this aptly expresses the true meaning fusion. Upon entering the space it’s something you wouldn’t expect. It’s kind of loungey/hip. We had a large group so they put us in the private dining room. The waitstaff was very helpful and gave their recommendations of which I took into account and based my decisions upon. What I ordered: Seafood tower — a must if you have a large group. Nicely presented and none of it will go to waste, it was that good. Raw oysters — they insisted so I tried them. I normally don’t care for oysters in a half shell but these had me eating more than one. I think I’m a fan now. Seasonal catch — I think it was seabass, either way it was very good Salmon — I don’t know how the skin stayed so crispy. I thoroughly enjoyed eating this dish. The southern mash to wash it down — strong bourbon and slightly sweet, this delicious concoction will have you on your ass if you aren’t careful. I would definitely come here again. I’m really glad this establishment has embraced the true meaning of being eclectic. Well done, chef!

Better than average tapas restaurant. I’ve been hesitant about going to this place because I know it’s a chain and from the outside it always looked like a higher scale Chili’s to me. Took a chance on it yesterday, and it was actually quite good. I can highly recommend the pulled pork tacos and duck confit sliders. We tried some Cajun wings as well as some Parmesan truffle fries, both were just ok(The fries had way too much truffle oil on them and the wings were good, just nothing out of this world.) we sat at the bar, and our server was terrific. He gave us recommendations for food, offered us a money back guarantee on dessert, and was extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back.

We rounded a group together and made reservations early on and changed it around a few times. Ultimately, there were 8 of us that showed up around 1:00PM. The restaurant was packed and I was afraid there would be no oysters left since the manager said the guys hands were starting to get sore from shucking hundreds of them in the past hour alone. After our whole party arrived, we awkwardly sat around waiting for our server to come greet us and take our drink orders. 5 minutes goes by. No one. 10 Minutes go elapsed. No one. After 15 minutes of sitting, I went to go find someone. Looks like no one was assigned to our table. The restaurant was serving its full menu as well as their new Happy Hour Menu where the small plates had smaller portions for a fraction of the price. I inquired about the bloody mary bar set up at the main bar area and our server explained to us that we order specify the type of vodka we want and he puts the order in and prints us a ticket that we redeem at the bar. We went with the basil infused vodka($ 9.00 each) and the bartender poured the vodka into pint glasses with lots of ice and the Bloody Mary mix made in house. The pour for the vodka was on the lighter side. The first station had different seasonings that included old bay, celery salt, peppercorns, garlic powder, etc. The pink Himalayan salt tiers were pretty cool. The 2nd station was all the different hot sauces. There were some that just sounded painful, «Pain is Good Jalapeño» and a Habanero hot sauce. After you create your own concoction, the bartender shakes the drink for you. There is also a garnish station where you can add peppers, lime, celery stalks, olives, peppadew peppers, onions, etc. You could skew as many as you wanted. Cocktail shrimp was an extra $ 2.95 ea and bacon was .50 cents extra, For those that didn’t take part in the bloody mary’s, they got a lime rickey or split a pitcher of sangria. In an effort to beat the rush, we ordered 3 dozen oysters on the half shell at a buck a shuck! The waiter warned us it would be a bit longer due to the large demand but we were fine as long as we got our order in. The oysters came in 2 platters with horseradish, cocktail sauce, lemon and malt vinegar. For our meal, we couldn’t decide on what to get so we got a bunch of things to share. From the tapas/Happy Hour menu The la quercia rosa prosciutto«made in america!» Iowa prosciutto was different. I’m used to the thin cured meat in high end Italian restaurants that Moonstone’s left me confused and regretting my order. The domestic version was a bit on the hard side and I though the pita chips were random. There was potato pancake served with onion jam and sour cream from the global tapas’n such menu selection. The kitchen or server made a mistake and gave us the Korean Pork Belly in lettuce wraps with cilantro lime sauce. We got to keep it and it was really flavorful and succulent. There was a slight guilty pleasure consuming all that swine fat. What we was supposed to get was this: Pork Belly steamed bun. The bun was soft and warm. It was VERY good. I would have thrown on some scallions for garnish. There were others that got the Mexican version or the Vietnamese Banh mi version. All were $ 3.00 each. Someone at the table said the banh mi version was not good. To stick with the Asian theme, we also got the fiery-sweet Korean spicy wings. It was rated«HOTTEST» on the menu but it had the perfect kick to my liking. The 4 piece Happy Hour version was a great price at $ 5.00. We got 2 large orders of the BBQ chips to share for the table. They were addictive. I could feel the course seasoning and sugar linger in my mouth. My friend said the chips reminded him of the old school Homeboys & HomeGirls Potato Chips from when he was younger. We got two orders of fries. I can’t remember if they were the rosemary sea salt or the truffle ones but they were good skinny sticks of lightly fried potatoes. You would we would be stuffed by now and we were getting there. Too bad we had already ordered entrees in addition to everything above. Some of us split the Churrasco platter for two that had braised short rib, more pork belly, grilled lamb with Greek salad, chourico, spiced wings, patatas bravas and Brussels sprouts. The spiced wings were reminiscent of the BBQ chips, I think they share the same seasoning. The potato with cream sauce was good but I wished the left out the sofrito. Most of the food was great with a few of the exceptions mentioned above. The service was really friendly and wonderful once we were able to determine who our server was. The total came to around $ 336.41, not including tip. Great meal!

I was pleasantly surprised by moonstones considering it shares a parking lot with a best western and a gas station. great food, lovely ambience and wonderful drinks. we had the Caesar, chicken spring rolls, beet ravioli(omg!!) and the rib eye. all were divine except the spring rolls — but they were still pretty good. had Japanese scotch, moonshine cocktail(a bit sweet but tasty) and a really nice French cab with dinner. all in I left a happy camper.
