I like burlington coat factory. This location is okay. It is in need of a major remodel/reno. It seems outdated and resembles a thrift store design. They usually have unique items when I go to look for something but often seems like things are missing or is skimpy in the clothing department. The prices are average. The employees are usually friendly and helpful. However, I think this Burlington can be a whole lot better with a remodel and some store upgrades; especially since the Cheltenham mall is getting an overhaul.

I came in here today with no intentions to buy anything, just browse. I will say that the shoe selection has went down hill tremendously compared to 8 years ago. Good news about today’s visit– I bought my daughter a Splendid shirt and tight set(usually $ 60 in Saks or Nordstroms) and got it here for $ 7.99. Talk about a bargain.

The good news is. i found exactly what I was looking for. The bad news is: the male supervisor today treated me as if I were a thief. I made a return with no receipt. I do it all the time as I lose receipts often. I walked straight in to the register because I am already cautious. I had the shirt in my hand. He said to me in a smartass voice«you don’t even have a bag?» I said i just walked in the door because I dont want you to think Im stealing. And I ordered it online and lost the packing slip. So no, I don’t have a bag. I walked up being nice to him and he was an asshole back to me.

i love burlington more than i do the other discount stores like tj maxx, marshalls, etc. it’s just so friggin cheap! i went there to get my son some sandals and although the selection isn’t big at all for boys, i picked up 2 cute pairs of sandals for him; one was $ 15 and the other was $ 17. considering you’ll pay more at payless(these were carters btw), i’m pretty happy about that… if it wasn’t so late i would’ve went a little nuts. as it was, i found a not-so-high wedged very cute pair of anne klein sandals for $ 20, and a pewter-colored, fold-over, quilted steve madden magnetic clutch, also for $ 20.(i found the clutch on the floor and didn’t see anything similar to it among the handbags but anyway, SCORE!) oh, and i picked up an adorable pair of capri workout pants for $ 5. the $ 5 selection of t-shirts and workout pants would have been enough to keep me around in that section alone for at least 20 minutes. i also saw a few cute tankinis and bikinis in the $ 15 – 25 range. and the baubles at the checkout were $.50-$ 2.00 and had possibilities of being tasteful if kept to a bare minimum. However, the sizes were a bit of a mess, large mixed in with smalls and that sort of thing. Also, my husband got this very simple, sporty puma jacket with a little philly ‘p’ for about $ 17. he was so excited about it that he wore it to trader joes as soon as we left – but then discovered the arms were super short while loading groceries(so short it was comical). so, now i have to take the plastic string thing that holds the tag from something else and sort of melt it together as if the tags were never removed from the jacket.(has ANYBODY else ever done that before or am i the only one?)
