I just had the most amazing rib sandwich. This new-looking food trailer with a huge homemade sign that just screams«BBQ» in an abandoned Shoney’s parking lot next to Racetrack gas station #538. A guy is sitting in his pickup truck eating Brunswick stew. The owner is so busy concentrating on his ribs that he doesn’t see me at the window. A place this pretentious has to be good. BBQ is all about the food and anti-ambiance. No disappointments here. The rib sandwich had about 6 ounces of pulled rib meat. It’s smoky and sweet. Dark, super thin char gives it a barely chewy texture that yields to tender juicy pork underneath. Seriously, no bbq sauce could do these ribs justice. There’s no fat layer — how on earth did he cook these? Better than any brisket. The owner is super. I had &15 cash and said«just give me $ 15 worth for the road». 3 sandwiches later we are picking the thin slivers of meat off the plate. The bun was a nice premium cornmeal-dusted fresh bun that was a bonus. Alton Cain is the owner. If are anywhere between Chattanooga and Atlanta, find him. Beg him to bring his truck to your next kids’ birthday party, and invite the parents. WOW
