Fun to go back in time to the days of a good road trip stop on historic US20. We stopped for lunch which is cooked outside the Teepee gift shop in a converted RV trailer. Food was great. Try the special chili if you like spice. The owner’s extended family was enjoying lunch while we were there. Very friendly and told us about the area and the history of the Teepee. The Teepee comes up quick if you are traveling west. Make a U-turn for good«food truck» fare. The view of the valley is spectacular too.

A lovely roadside attraction serving competition grade chili. Petie was out of his Harvest Chili for the day, so we savored the 7 Pepper Chili, which is densely meaty, and seasoned to be both flavorful and hot. If you are looking for a road less traveled, and a reminder of how we used to value the journey more than the destination, this charming throwback to simpler times should suit you perfectly. Enjoy.

The gift shop was closed when we arrived, but Pete was willing to stay open late so that we could try his food. I am glad that he did because it was really good. His chili is very good. My son had mild on a dog and we got beer chili with cheese on fries. Pete actually sat and talked with us while we ate. Nice guy and great place to eat.

You haven’t had good chili until you try Teepee Pete’s Chili. It burns but… you can still taste that it’s good chili.(Or try the Elk or Buffalo Burger.) My favorite on a hot summer day after a nice long motorcycle ride is to stop, have a hot dog and his great French fries, sit at one of the picnic tables, and enjoy one of the best views anywhere. On a clear day you can see all the way to the peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Awesome place.

Stopped by The Tepee on the way back down to NYC for a quick lunch. Love the home made chili and attached gift shop. The lady made me sign a waiver before I took my «hot chili shot»…ooOoO…my tongue burned for a few minutes after that. Quite a cool place for good cheap food. Thumbs up for The Tepee in Cherry Valley, NY :)

Awesome little Tepee on the side of the road. They have 3 types of postcards. Candy sticks. Dream catchers. Moccasins I wish went to my size. Many cool Little things. I think it’s worth a pit stop. Plus on a clear day the view across the highway is… Breathtaking!
