Have never had any problems with Debbies I come from Hampton every once an awhile to get parts or to fiddle-fart around on their track. Due to the nature of RC and other hobbies returns for items that have been ran or especially flown cannot be returned and some people don’t understand that. There are always new people getting into the hobby buy a nitro rig and not fully research tuning and not get their vehicles going normal causes are bad glow, engine sitting for long periods of time with no after run oil, bad nitro fuel(ambient air kills the mixture has to stay sealed) or leaning out motor out repeatedly and overheating it(engine will die while running while still having gas in tank), or using roto start with home drill(I do it too but if your one way bearing fails its your own fault). Anyway this is an awesome store with a flying field, indoor and outdoor dirt tracks and onroad track with drag strip unparalleled to any hobby store in the Hampton roads area. The hobbytown nearest to me in Newport News has been sucking lately they stock kits but not parts that usually break for example I have a um rc plane which they stock but can never get any propellers for(I’ve asked every day for the last 2 yrs when I bought it new). Practices like that cause me to travel to the better shop like this one, rc proracing, eagle hobby, and eds hobby. Wish I had time to go there today I would definitely make the trip.

Horrible Experience. I took my nitro race car to be cleaned after it was sitting for a long time. They told me a week I said ok and called then at the end of the week, The guy told me they haven’t even touched it yet. Another week goes by and 140 dollars later the guy told me he had it started and ran it. I believed him took it home and it wouldn’t even start. Came back as I only live 5 min away. I told them It wouldn’t start and he assured me he had it running and suggest I plug the glow plug charger over night. At no time did they even want to look at it and was very dismissive. They made it as If I did something. I came back the next day and told them with a full charge it still won’t start. The guy was looking at me as if he did not want to be bothered. I insisted on him starting it up and then he said that I broke the roto start with my drill. Passing the buck. I know how to start this car and knew he was feeding me some bull. I asked if we can order the part I he told me they don’t carry it. That’s another bull crap. And I should go online to look for the part. I went on line and found Horizon Carries the part and when I ordered the part online I was asked to enter my zip code and WHOW to my amazement, its says that Debbie RC is a licensed dealer of them, so much bull shit. I rather drive miles waste gas and go somewhere else then drive 5 min to this place. BEWAREDEBBIE“S RC and if u are foolish enough to go there make sure you asked them to start the vehicle before you take it out of the store. Honesty should be something they should focus on as I told all my friends of the horrible customer service and lying., and by the way money is not the situation as if they were helpful I would have bought the part and paid them to install it. I have another racer but will take it somewhere else,.

So… I’ve been coming to Debbie’s for years now since I have 5 kids. I’ve purchased RC cars, helicopters, race tracks, train tracks and accessories, etc and since my kids are still pretty young I still have many years of hobby shopping left to do. I think this is a family owned store and I have always been very happy with the product, staff, service and price which is why I was so disappointed there recently. For Christmas I purchased a $ 300 slot car set. Two cars came with the set and one did not seem to work(go as fast or stay on course) as the other. So I bought a new slot car from Debbie’s and took it home and it seems that it was not the correct type car for this type of track as it didn’t work at all. So two days after buying this car I took it back re-packed in packaging and with the receipt with the intent to exchange it for the correct type of car. I explained the situation to the guy at the counter and he said they could not take back the car. He said the manufacturer would not accept the car back once purchased. I tried to explain that I had not used the car at all and I had receipt and it had been only two days since the purchase and that I have been a good and loyal customer for all these years, etc, etc, etc. No dice and I couldn’t believe it. I politely asked for the owner and he came out. I explained everything again but the owner stuck with his stated policy. I asked him to pull up my purchase history on his POS system as they track purchases by phone number in order to show him what a loyal customer I’ve been and the large amount of money I’ve spent over the years. Well, he was polite and apologetic but not willing to make an exchange or offer any resolution in any way. So, now as I told this man, I will have to travel to Virginia Beach for my hobby shop needs to a store that stands behind the products they sell. What a shame. Respectfully, Disappointed in Debbie’s

This place is huge. If you didn’t know where it was you could easily drive by it and not know. They’ve got everything from RC cars, boats, planes, and train sets. I guess the pricing isn’t bad though my husband was the one buying. Has indoor and outdoor tracks with a landing strip for planes.

Fully stocked store with both indoor and outdoor RC track. Planes, boats, heli’s they have everything. Their prices on large items are exactly the same as mail order so there isn’t any reason not to buy from them. Great place.
