Jade Star Chinese Restaurant

Jade Star has been my «go to“Chinese restaurant since 2002… something has happened in the last two or three years, quality has gone down. Tonight is the last straw, steamed dumplings were room temp and Wonton Soup was Egg Drop Soup with 4 wontons in it. Will be looking for another chinese restaurant next time I have the craving.

Over priced for your shopping center non-​authentic Chinese restaurant. I’m very surprised this place has been around as long. I bet the people that work there don’t even eat what they serve.

Made a phone-​in order using their online menu, this was my second time ordering from Jade Star Chinese. Long story short (But probably wont be) I ordered a total of $ 53.00 of food. One of the items I asked the lady for was 2 Large Chicken Teriyaki with Pork fried rice, «Just Like I Ordered Last Time». (I emphasize this because she asked how spicy and I said «Just Like I Ordered Last Time») I receive our food (45 minutes later) and among everything else there are two bags with sticks of chicken in them, I called and explained to her that I got the wrong food. I wanted Chicken Teriyaki, Not Chicken Stick, Which is Exactly how it reads on the menu (No mention at all Teriyaki) She told me that if I ASK for Chicken Teriyaki I GET Chicken stick, If I WANT «Chicken Teriyaki» I have to ASK for «Chefs Special Chicken Teriyaki»
She said that If I want the Chefs Special Chicken Teriyaki I would have to make a new order for it.
I told her I didn’t ask for «chicken stick» I asked for Chicken Teriyaki JUST LIKE I ORDERED BEFORE Without asking for the very specific «Chefs Special Chicken Teriyaki» I then explained that If you are going to make me pay full price for the Chicken Teriyaki then I just want All of my money back and you can send your driver back to pick up all of this food! Then reluctantly said «I guess what I can do is pay the difference in price between the sticks and the Teriyaki» She agreed and reminded me several times through the remainder of this very agitating, and extremely awkward conversation «don’t forget to return chicken stick» I half jokingly said «are you going to serve this to someone else?» and she replied «did you open bag?» I said «I had to open the bag to see what it was» and she asked «did you touch» … Does it matter? I can’t imagine what anyone would do with this other than taking it back and tossing it in the garbage for fear that I might have some extravagant plot to get 2 free bags of chicken stick.
Before hanging up with her I explained that this was the last time I’d be ordering from Jade Star.
About 30 minutes later the driver showed up at my door with the Chefs Special Chicken Teriyaki, I sign the C.C. receipt for the additional $ 10.00.
I attempted to plead my case once more on the obvious difference between Chicken Stick and Chicken Teriyaki and how the Menu says Only «Chicken Stick» and how could she get my asking for Chicken Teriyaki as being Chicken Stick…
I don’t think he understood a word I said. He just nodded his head delightfully, smiling from ear to ear, repeating «Thank you» over and over.
Or maybe he just knew it was probably the best way to shut me up.

Fresh food fast and it taste great next day. They use containers that make it easy to store and re-​heat

I usually order takeout from this place. They usually only take 15 minutes to prepare my order. The service is cordial and the food is above average for Chinese takeout. Make sure you use their coupons on their menu. The food is slightly pricier than other local places, but it’s worth having a tastier meal for a few extra bucks. Their dining area is small and very basic. They might have a TV showing sports/​news, if I remember correctly. Their quality of service and food is consistent.
