Adorable. It’s definitely a smaller orchard, but very beautiful. On the weekend they do the tractor rides, but they are totally not necessary, as all trees are in a very walkable distance. There are a few horses, a wooden train for kids to play on, a pond with 2 picnic benches, lots of wagons for fruit/pumpkin hauling. The shop is smaller, and most of the items are not made there. Jellies, cookies, donuts, cider(as some one mentioned, not the best, kind of apple juice), seasonal decorations, candies, sodas. I agree with previous reviews which mention«quaint» and«not a big production.» Easy breezy… ain’t nothing wrong with that

I love Hickory Hill Orchards!!! I love that they do apple picking all week long! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The apples were delicious. The peanutbutter/chocolate candies they had at the register were also delicious! Such an adorable, quaint orchard! I love supporting the small local farms! I will definetly be back!

This is one of my favorite places to go apple picking. It’s smaller so it’s not a production to pick apples and you can easily and quickly get in and out. They have so many different types of apples, lots of pumpkins, beautiful mums and lots of delicious looking treats in the store. I make it a point to come here at least once every fall and I have so much fun when I do!

It’ true that HH is not as sprawling as Lymans, the parking lot not as large– and voila! — these are among the reasons I love Hickory Hill. Their country store is packed with baked goodies, 7 – 8 varieties of apples picked on site, also nectarines, 3 kinds of peaches, pumpkins, flowers, gourds and MUCH more– all at reasonable prices. When I stopped in last evening the shoppe keeper was engaging, gave me some great baking advice, was so friendly– it was obvious that she was glad I was there, and she was happy to be there too! My kids always delighted in their wooden trains when they were little, and also in seeing the horse-residents. If you like long lines, impersonal service, driving from one picking site to another, & high prices– go to Lyman’s. If you want beautiful country orchards and store, without all the commercialism, but with friendly people and quality stuff, check out Hickory Hill. I’m going back today for the Sweet Dream Peaches they were sampling last night– soooo sweet!

This Fall the BF and I were searching for farms that made their own apple cider. We came across Hickory Hill Orchard and was disappointed when we didn’t find quality apple cider. The brand they carried was from some farm in upstate NY. The place was packed that Saturday evening. I didn’t find anything particularly interesting. Parking sucked because the soil was wet and our car sank into the mud. There were tons and tons of people, the farm was just too small to accommodate all their visitors. Apple wise, nothing special, I prefer Lyman Orchards over Hickory Hill because the selection is better at Lyman’s. The price was about 20cents more per lb here as well. If you want to make it a family day at the farm, don’t waste your money going to Hickory Hill. This is the place for children who can not tolerate long rides.

I used to love going to Hickory Hill for apples, pumpkins, old-timey candy and hay rides. They have a cute little country store, where you can pick up all sorts of New England goodies, little jams and things. But the real deal here is the apples. Pick your own or grab a pre-picked bag, they’re clearly fresh and really delicious. The apples, as well as the cider made from them are reason enough to jaunt over when autumn springs. They have a plethora of autumnal decorations for your home, as well as more practical and enjoyable goodies like maple syrup and pumpkins. Well, maybe pumpkins aren’t practical, but they’re fun to decorate and kids love picking out the best one. It’s a little touristy, but quaint enough for locals as well, and a perfect family outing. Everyone likes picking apples, even teenagers.
