We were looking for a quick lunch on a shopping trip. This was a good find. Quality burgers, fries, chicken, fish, hot dogs, etc. fresh and made to order. Eat outside on clean picnic tables with umbrellas or take out. Friendly service. Recommended!

My son and I live about 30 minutes away, and we go to Rose Dairy almost every Friday evening, per my 3 year olds request! It is our favorite family spot! The atmosphere is one in a million: they have an outside patio area in which you can eat and hang out with other families, attend family fun events, and enjoy great ice cream and food. The family run establishment is a landmark in Cheshire, Jim and Joe treat everyone as family and put their hearts into the customers experience. The Rose Dairy team always makes our experience memorable while they are friendly, great with suggestions, on point with every order, and a lot fun. I have never had a meal there I did not like, and even after being full we always enjoying the ice cream. Whenever in town or surrounding towns we make Rose Dairy a special stop throughout the spring, summer, and fall! Anyone who loves Great Food, Great Ice Cream, and Good people, this is where you would want to be. Thank you Rose Dairy and team for everything especially the memories that were made with my son, god daughter, nieces, nephews, and friends!!! See you soon!

The food was great, service was slow. The burgers weren’t exactly medium, but close enough. Take this food to go though, flies everywhere at the outdoor seating!

I’ve been here a couple times because it’s right down the road. I’ve been happy with my food every time, but I didn’t think the ice cream was anything special. My recommendation: get a hot dog and fries here and then head down the road to Sweet Claude’s for your ice cream :)

Joint # 68: ROSEDAIRY, Cheshire, CT. Rose Dairy originally opened it’s doors in 1951 as a classic drive-in style joint, closed for a while and then reopened in 2005. They are known best for their char broiled hot dogs, burgers and ice cream treats. Upon arrival I met one of the owners who was very nice and greeted me with a smile. He seemed as thought he was happy that The Dawg Tour MMXIV was about to indulge in a Rose Dairy dog. RATING(S):… John: 8/10, Me: 8⁄10. John said, «We had their hot dog, 9 inch, Hummel Bros and it was char grilled and it was done perfectly. The dog itself had some good flavor. Bun was toasted perfectly. Only thing, the chili was not homemade. I don’t know where it’s from. However, it was a bean chili. I got a lot of flavor out of that dog. Had snap. Bean chili. There was big chunks of onion on it, didn’t have a lot of bite in the onion, but that’s alright. I’m okay with that. If it’s too strong, I don’t like it. Overall, I’m giving this an 8 here, a solid 8 because the dog had a lot of flavor. That’s me. J Diggity 8!» I said, «Hummel, 9 inch, natural casing dog(correction: I said it was a beef & pork dog, turns out, it was an all beef dog). They cook it on a flame, a real flame broiled grill. There is definitely some fire to that grill. They roll it, comes out perfect. As John said, the dog was done right. The bun was done right as well; toasted, delicious, held it all together. No problem with the spicy mustard, you put it on yourself. The onion to me looked a little haggard. A little old, looked dried out, it was chunky. Needed a little work on the onion. The chili, again, canned unfortunately, bean… still had a decent flavor. It wasn’t horrible by any means, but it’s not the homemade stuff. All said and done, the place still deserves an 8 based on the dog. The dog had the flavor.»

Great burgers! Love the butch burger. You can take out or sit outside. I’ve also called ahead before when I was short on time. They have ice creams and shakes too I haven’t tried those yet. All together good fast burger place.

NIce hot dog stand that makes everything to order. I enjoyed my grilled hot dog and the burger tasted like it came off my backyard grill. There aren’t many places like this around anymore so it’s nice to be able to support this family owned and operated business. Definitely will repeat

Been here on multiple occasions and they consistently burn everything. They even asked how I wanted my burger cooked so I requested medium and received well-done. Bacon on burger burnt to crisp. Grilled onions on top were so black and tasted of burnt grease they were inedible. Onion rings — burnt too. If they could learn how to use a grill and maybe clean it so everything doesn’t have the aftertaste of burnt grease it could be better. In no way does this compare to Frankie’s or Blackie’s.

Once you’ve been to roses hundred 10 it is difficult to drive by without pulling in again. Classic appearing drive up ice cream shop. Family-run with a friendly group of servers. Soft serve is delicious with all the classic swirls and get the options. Never had a bad experience.

This is a simple hot dog and ice cream stand where everything made fresh on-site. A healthier alternative to the fast food place next door.

All made to order fresh and to your liking. Nice outside space and takeaway. The burger has real flavor, and there’s fish burger for lacto, ovo pesco tarians. The service is friendly and they are proud of the product. The care they take shows through.

Simple and classic. An old-timey hot dog and ice cream stand that’s apparently been around since ’51. They serve up all the classics — dogs, burgers, fries, and really good ice cream. We stop in here on occasion with family when we visit my sister at Quinnipiac. Haven’t had the burgers but the hot dogs are done right, a toasted bun and just the right amount of crunch when you bite into it. It’s the kind of place that you don’t find much anymore, hope they keep up the good work. No unsweetened iced tea though, so minus a star! No indoor seating but there’s a small outdoor dining area that’s nice in the warmer months.
