Chester State Park

1. Clean grounds and well maintained.
2. Bathrooms are old, but clean.
3. Bridge across the lake is very nice.
4. Great for family fishing. A lot of shade around the lake.
5. Parking lots are clean and paved.
6. Picnic shelters are clean.
7. Guy and girl park rangers are very nice and helpful.
Good place to take the family for a picnic and fishing.

My family went here for the day and played a free round of 18 hole disc golf. It was only $ 2 a person to get in, but we have a SC state park pass.
We visit a different state park every weekend. We had a great time here today. I would recommend any family come here. The disc golf is along a hiking trail (not a really long one) but long enough to take several hours to do if you want. There is a 9 hole and 18 hole course. There is also a lake, hiking trails, and picnic facilities. Also, there are restrooms, running water and trash cans.
I think $ 2 is reasonable for a full day of family adventure. Also, when you think about it, they have to maintain the park as well for people to enjoy. It is also pet friendly. Our lab went along with us to play.
If you bring your own discs, or frisbees, it’s a free game. If you rent discs from the park, it’s $ 5.

I’m not sure why you are supposed to pay just to visit this park. I cruised through and didn’t see anything worth paying for. Camping yes, just visiting, no.
