HIGHLYRECCOMEND. One of the coolest little restaurant/shop my wife and I have visited. They had great food(8⁄10), AWESOME customer service(10⁄10) and some of the best parties/cookies/desserts I’ve ever tried(10⁄10).

This is very unique and interesting store/café/restaurant! The people are friendly and the food is very very good. I had the thanksgiving sandwich! I had to eat ½ for lunch and ½ for dinner! Ronda had the open face sandy! We are so lucky we got to try this place out.

Stopped in while passing through the area. It’s a neat café with an eclectic hippie vibe. The service was on point and very friendly. I ordered the cheese steak and was disappointed, the overall flavor was good and the ingredients were fresh. However the meat was more like stew meat as uploaded to shredded steak and it was served in a wrap. Had I known that I probably would have chosen something else. It’s definitely worth checking out though.

Their sandwiches and baked goods are the stuff that makes Vermont great. Everything’s fresh, homemade, creative and local. Plus, it’s just terrific place to hang out.

This was an awesome find in our meandering trip through Vermont. Chester is not too far off route 91. Solid Farm fresh brunch offerings and great healthy smoothie with ginger and turmeric. My husband had the strawberry French toast special and I ordered eggs over easy, a smoothie and a fresh strawberry scone. Delicious! There was also a large cupboard display of baked goodies. We got a Mexican brownie to take for the road. It was also delicious and packed some definite spicy heat — so if you don’t like spice get the regular brownie or the blondie. They also had Mrs. Meyers soaps and cleaning products for sale in back and sold grains and other items in the front of the store. In the rear portion of the building there was a cool community art room that seemed to be a separate entity. It wasn’t open while we were there but I loved seeing the art on the windows and reading about the concept for the community, especially for children. If we find ourselves within an hour radius of this place in the future — we will be back for more tasty food!

Great food! Amazing over all. Our favorite coffee spot in town hands down! The baked goods are great. The food is good and coffee drinks are fantastic and if you like smoothies you must try the ones they have.

Breakfast: The Bomb with the soufflé. Best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Just get it, any time of day. Lunch: Chester cheesesteak with local cheese and steak. Unreal. So flavorful and authentic. Nice setting. Relaxed. Great folks running the place. Not to be missed.

Walking into the Moon Dog is like stepping back in time, to a quaint store however equipped with state of the art coffee equipment. Offerings include a variety of coffee drinks, soups, sandwiches and a fantastic selection of cookies. There are several dine in tables. Food and beverages are also available for take out. In addition to food and coffee/tea, some organic produce, greeting cards, organic rice, etc. are stocked. Service is both casual and friendly. They’ll bring your drink to the table, a nice touch. There’s free off street parking directly in front of the door. A variety of smoothies are featured as well. This is a perfect spot to have a bite to eat or relax with a coffee. We’re so fortunate to have these gems around. This is an oasis in a sea of chain coffee stores. I hope it lasts forever. Pro tip: GPS location was off by about a ¼ mile. On line smart phone directions may be more accurate. Enjoy!

This place is so cute and has awesome coffee! Came here for some lunch and it did not disappoint! The French toast was delicious and their pastries are yummy. It’s right next door to the inn where we were staying so the location was very convenient. If you’re in the neighborhood, check this place out!

I’m always satisfied with the food. The tuna melt was the best I ever had. Can’t go wrong with the lox and cream cheese bagel. Although the small flute of orange juice for $ 5 is ridiculous. I am constantly disappointed with the service and over all unfriendly nature of the employees. I always feel unwelcome, the staff seems cold. I give it 4 stars for the food satisfaction.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our lunch here. Respect to Moondog for sourcing natural/local/organic ingredients for their food, drinks, and healthy/beauty products. The emphasis on quality products and a homemade touch really makes a positive difference. Located in a nice space right on Main Street in Chester it’s easy to find. We parked right in front and were able to grab a little table indoors to eat. We ordered the moon dog salad, Greek salad, minestrone soup, maple walnut cupcake, and kombucha that was on tap. All of it was healthy and tasted delicious! Good music played over the radio and the wait staff was friendly. If your in the area definitely stop in!

Decent spot for breakfast or lunch right in the midst of the quaint main drag in Chester, right near the turnoff toward Ludlow and Okemo. I had a very nicely stuffed turkey sandwich served up on sourdough wheat with stuffing and cranberries. They roast their own meats, which not only gives the place a tremendous aroma but vastly improves the quality of the sandwiches. I’m not one for sweets but I did take note of an impressively mouth watering display of baked goods that I’m sure would please those of you who still eat such stuff.

This is quintessential Vermont eatery. My hubby and our close friends stopped here a few times when we were staying in town for a couple days. The owners are out-of-this-world charming. I had a salad that was so delicious and fresh and I’m obsessed with the maple latte. Not only does this place serve food in their cute eat-in store but they sell all kinds of homemade natural products local products! We will be going to Stowe this weekend and upon coming home, we are going out of our way to stop here and get a breakfast sandwich and other yummies!

Stopped in this cute spot on our way home from Vermont. Such a cozy place, with a warm ambience. The menu had a large variety of foods all being organic and local. We ordered Tandoori Chicken Soup the soup of the day which was delicious! My friend ordered the apple and Brie sandwich, and I ordered the curry chicken sandwich. My other friend ordered the Monkey toast which was stuffed with bananas and cream cheese with maple syrup. Everything was amazing! They have an array of teas, coffee, smoothies and fresh pressed juice. Also they have kombucha on tap which I jumped on. If we’re ever in the area I would definitely go back!

Moondog Café. Can’t get any better then this. Try the Monkey Toast. Sound unappetizing. It’s not a diet food, but pancakes, topped with fruit, bananas, berries and honest 100% pure Vermont Maple Syrup. You’ve never tasted a grilled cheese sandwich like this one. Meat loaf? They don’t prepare it every day. Might order ahead, because it goes fast. Unbelievably delicious. The staff? Couldn’t be nicer. Never rattled no matter how busy it gets. Hey, I love this place.

Best breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Healthy(always all natural), creative, delicious and value for money. And the coffee is good too. Baked goods look very appetizing. Nice place to hang out right on the Chester village square. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I stopped here based on Unilocal reviews. It ended up being one of the best places we ever ate at. From the smoothie menu, and breakfast served all day to their cabinet of fresh baked goodies, this place was heavenly. Definitely stop in!

Lots of choices for fresh and healthy fare. I ordered the turkey harvest sandwich which has all of the favorites from thanksgiving! Sourdough bread topped with juicy turkey pieces, a well seasoned stuffing, cranberries, and lightly topped with tarragon mayo. It was more than enough food, so I saved half for later. Shared a green dragon smoothie, which was banana, avocado, almond milk and spinach — super refreshing and sweetened naturally by it’s contents. I would highly recommend this little café for a light and filling lunch!

We stopped here on our way passing through from NH to a wedding in NY. The FOOD here is absolutely to-die-for delicious. I had a grilled ham and cheese made with local ham, brie, apple slices, and maple honey mustard. Oh my GOSH that was good. I also had a «hot maple» for the first time — sort of like a hot chocolate, but made with maple syrup and hot milk instead of chocolate syrup and hot milk. It was very good. For dessert I had a fantastic and mouth-watering lemon coconut blondie. Love, love, love the food here and the great atmosphere of a small local business with local ingredients. The service was polite and prompt, but lacked enthusiasm. All in all, I would love to go back here for lunch every day if it wasn’t hundreds of miles away.
