Safeway

This place looked very new or at least only a couple of months old. It is nice to know we can travel across the united states and find a place that I know very well. Well the first trip I made here was on the way to Delaware and required a gas station as well as some water and snacks, since I was not sure how long it would take to get to my final stop.
Everything about this place reminder me of home good and bad, but know the people were friendly and happy to see you, they were helpful. If you are looking for place to stop for things to get you through the day, this is the place. I am sure people shopping here are happy to have a place so clean and people friendly.

This is my favorite grocery store. Giant store, SUPER clean, and a huge selection. Produce is always very fresh and there’s so much variety. Lots of «natural» and whole foods too, with brands you can’t often find in other places. The ready made foods (pizzas, subs, soup, fresh salads, etc) are always fresh and delicious. There’s also a Starbucks with a full Starbucks menu.

My wife and I love how easy it is to run in and come out with some fresh food. It is very clean and offers a large variety of fresh food.

The worst service at a Starbucks I have ever seen. Line was 20+ deep and wait after ordering was 20 mins. The barrista had no sense of urgency and walked out from behind the counter several times to find customers who were no longer present to retrieve their orders.

this safeway is very conveniently located along main st, just off the main highway, route 50. the safeway is actually pretty big, but then again, not many people were here on a friday evening when we came so perhaps it appeared big. standard offerings like meat, baked goods, deli, and produce. some of their items were not organized very well, for example, in one refrigerated section, we found a small selection of yogurt, and immediately though, oh, what a small selection of yogurt! later, when we walked down the cheese aisle, we found more yogurt, and pretty large selection of it too. checkout was a breeze, again, since there hardly any customers at this time. parking lot for this shopping center is huge, and was quite empty when we arrived.

This Safeway is conveniently located on Kent Island… and they sell Dry Ice, which came in very handy since we were only in town for a weekend and was taking fresh crabs back to New York.

Here visiting relatives over 4^th of July holiday and I was very impressed. I used to live on Kent Island and it was a big deal when the first Safeway location was put in. This new building is nice.
What I was particularly impressed by was the selection of foods and organic choices. I also thought that the fruit and vegetables were fresh. My wife likes that there is a Starbucks inside also. The only thing I wasnt able to notice were the prices. I didnt hear my wife scoff at anything, so I think they were in line with everyone else.
Overall, for a holiday weekend, they were well staffed and friendly. I would go there again if I need to make a run for anything.
