Anyone who knows me knows this-if you ask Cosimo if he’d like a burger, his response would be, «Like a burger? I’d LOVE one.» Well, now there’s a place I can go that’s super close to my crib whenever I’d love a burger. First off, I don’t like waiting, so I called ahead to se if I could before coming, and they do indeed take food orders. Not everyone does, so I was happy to hear they do. I asked the nice woman on the telephone plenty of questions, as per usual, and she answered them all with ease. I placed my order, and she gave me a 10 minute wait time. I showed up almost 20 mins later and my food was ready. I’ll go earlier next time to be sure of the accuracy of the quoted time, but I was still happy everything was ready to go. The woman rang me up, and both she and the cook gave me a hearty, «See you soon.» I like the confidence, not to mention saying goodbye in general. The thick cut french fries are out of this world. One of the questions I asked were how thick the fries are, as I despise shoestring fries. These were nice and thick(I’m such a size queen), and perfectly salted. Not too much, not too little. I wish the portion was bigger though. Maybe they have a small and large size, and I didn’t know? I ordered a double cheeseburger with onion, lettuce, ketchup and extra cheese, and it was dope son! The double cheeseburger was great. Super well cooked. Again, they found the Goldilocks-sector, ensuring that my beef was not overcooked or under cooked, but rather, it was cooked just right. The bun was nice, although I paid it little thought until I had already eaten it, and by then forgotten whether it was grilled or not. I just know it was fresh and delicious. The chili dog I had was the only disappointment. It certainly was not because the hotdog or the bun was bad, but the chili was less than stellar. First of all it had no beans, which I think every great chili should have, but it also lacked flavor. I was surprised by how flavorless the chili was actually. Maybe a new cook made it? I’d give it one more try because everything else was incredibly good. But please make sure it’s seasoned next time! Overall the people were super nice, very helpful, and the food, for the most part, was very, very good. I’ll definitely be back and I’d suggest you give this place a try as well. I’m so happy to say that the next time someone asks if I’d like a burger, my response will change ever so slightly to, «Like a burger? Lov-a Burger!»

The kafta burger was delicious. Great use of spices and fresh grilled veggies. I will be back!

I loved Lov-A Burger! Some of the best burgers and fries we’ve ever had. So good I finished mine and begged my kiddo to give me part of hers. Prices are very reasonable. The staff was super nice, it was a nice experience trying this new place. My only suggestion would be they add napkin dispensers on each table. I tend to use a lot of napkins :) It would be great to see them expand to more locations!

I was disappointed. I had a carryout order. No complaints on the service and it is a very cozy environment and clean. I was disappointed in the food. My patty melt bread was not grilled long enought, so it was more like undercooked toast. The burger was great without the bread. I picked up a fish dinner for my husband, it was frozen fish pattys. I should have not assumed that the fish would be hand battered but considering they say everything is fresh not frozen just I assumed. My husband complained it was soggy. As for the prices. not bad. I do wish they would have offered plasticware. I will try it again but I think I will stick to a old school burger.

I ate here a couple of weeks ago with my 3 boys. We ordered a cheeseburger, kafta burger, ff and onion rings. Everything was delicious. The veggies on the burgers were fresh, the garlic for my kafta burger was also yummy. The kafta burger was a little salty but still very good. I will be back to try the other menu items. This is a family friendly restaurant. Owners were very nice.

This is a small family run place that you guessed it… specializes in burgers. We had their classic burger and the patty melt and both were outstanding. We also split a small Greek Salad that was very tasty. The classic burger came with fries and they were nice and crispy. We got all this food and a diet Pepsi for less than $ 20. Well worth a try!!!

My husband and I have gotten take out from this place a few times. We’ve loved the food every time. My husband loves the chicken greek salad and I usually get the grilled chicken sandwich or the chicken kafta burger. The fried mushrooms are awesome as well. Very nice, friendly people. Would definitely recommend this place and we will continue to go there.

My first visit to love a burger was a little disappointing when I found that they did not serve butter but on my second visit I did find that they have changed many things and they did have butter. The owner is a very conscientious and friendly man and I believe it is his father who is working there with them who is also a very very nice and hard working person. I tried the Kafta burger and found it to be definitely delicious. My wife got the classic cheeseburger which definitely was made fresh and served on a wonderful fresh bun. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. I know I will be back we both found their prices to be very reasonable for a good value. By the way don’t forget to try the home made rice pudding.

Went to dinner with my husband and parents. My mom had the lovapita. She said it is better than National Coneys Hani. I had the mushroom and swiss burger it is my new favorite. Really great place to eat. Makes you feel like home. The owners are wonderful and friendly thank you Andy and Hoda. See you soon.

Friendly service, average meal. Cheese fries were good. Burger was average. Not bad for the price but could get a better burger elsewhere.

After seeing this place mentioned on Facebook my wife and I decided to give it a whirl. First impression — funky little place, more of a fast-food /take-out type place with several tables… I must say, the place is clean however, there is an odor of grease smoke and it seems like the ventilation needs to be improved. The food? Well, my wife and i both had burgers and fries… I started with some fried mushrooms. They weren’t very good — obviously the frozen kind and the taste was poor. The burgers were another story. They don’t use frozen meat at this place, and that makes a difference. The burgers were good… we asked for them medium and they may have been slightly overcooked, but they were tasty. The veggies on them were fresh and the bun was toasted — it was a good burger… not the best ever, but a whole lot better than McDonalds or BK!!! The price was right — $ 5.00 for the burger/fries and a drink!!! Now that’s fair!!! The owner came out and spoke with us for a while… what a nice, decent guy. i believe it was a relative of his that waited on us and she was very attentive and just a sweet young girl. Service was A1 !!! The owner insisted that my wife try his hummus… I’m not a fan of hummus, so she ate it. She stated it was one of the very best she’s had in town !!! Now THAT’S SAYINGSOMETHING!!! I’ve been on a quest for good rice pudding and this place has it. So, I tried it and it was stellar… one of the best around. I’d love to give this place 3 ½ stars because it is better than just average but not quite a 4 star yet… I hope they are extremely successful and that people try this place… there are some good things to be had here.

My boyfriend and I stopped at Lov-a Burger last week after hearing great things about it! Was really looking forward to having a new burger place in the area! We walked in and we’re greeted immediately! That seems to never happen that often anymore. The menu is posted to your right when you walk in, above the grills. The confusing part is we didn’t know whether to order there or at a table. But the cook told us to order where we walked in. We each ordered a burger and we split a frie, and a drink. There was a sign on the window for a lunch special for a burger and fire for $ 5. We came in for lunch and we didn’t get charged for that. You can pick from the toppings and most are free of charge. I picked lettuce, BBQ, cheese and mayo. I’m a simple person. There is about 7 tables to sit at, with a TV and radio on to enjoy as well. Food was made fresh and made to order. My burger also had onions, tomatoes and pickles on it. I guess that comes standard? Not sure. It was on the toppings list and i didn’t include those items because I am allergic to all of them. No big deal, I just picked them off. Burger was fresh and juicy and kudos for making it not overcooked and not undercooked. I’m stomach is very sensitive when it comes to beef. The bun was toasted and often broke with each bite I took. Little messy but it is a burger after all! Fries were tasty. Could definitely tell that the oil in the fryers was fresh. Homemade rice pudding was top notch and plenty to go around. Glad there was an option for cinnamon on top or not– even though you can’t go wrong with topped cinnamon! Hard to tell if the place is table service or self serve. Very clean. Can’t wait to go back.

I noticed this new restaurant set back in a little strip mall on the east side of Gratiot just south of Cotton Road. Besides their Lov-a Salad at $ 7.49, two breakfast skillets and an omelette offered at $ 6.99, nothing else on their menu is over $ 5.99. This is a small restaurant, but the service is excellent. I ordered a mushroom –n– swiss burger, deluxe with fries and drink. The burger was obviously hand-patted and well made, the fries were good, and a fountain drink came along with the meal. The chef provided excellent service, making genuine inquiries about the food a couple times during my meal. Not at all overbearing. Right next to Sassy Nails & Spa, I’ll have to keep that in mind next time my sassy nails need some attention. ;-)

Went with my husband for lunch and as soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. He took our drink order then our food order. The food was great! We couldn’t believe how good it was considering how reasonable the prices were. Everything was nice and clean inside. Talked to one of the owners who was super nice. We will be coming here often!
