Stylist was patient and very nice with my little one for his first haircut, and the cut was okay. I do think for the price it could have been better. The video players weren’t working on the day we went, which was disappointing as the kid entertainment factor was a big reason we chose this place. Haircuts are $ 3 cheaper on Wednesdays(«Wacky Wednesdays»), so we went today for another haircut, and discovered from a note on their door that they are now only open on Saturdays, so we wasted a trip. No info about this change on their website or FB page. I don’t know how they expect to stay in business being open only one day a week, especially since they don’t take appointments. Who wants to waste a Saturday in a sure-to-be packed waiting area?

Where I used to live there was a kids haircut chain where kids would sit in little fire trucks or carousel horses and watch Sponge Bob, Elmo or Dora while their hair was cut. It was always a hit with my son so I knew I had to find something similar here so haircuts could be pain-free. Unfortunately none are close to me so we made a drive out to Chesterfield for Snip-its. No appointments at all so it’s just walk-ins. We had to wait only 30 seconds for a cut. They didn’t have the fancy cars to sit in, you sit in normal hair chairs but they have belts for safety. They don’t have the familiar cartoons available but there are screens that have animated shows running. My son freaked out a bit but the stylist rolled with the punches and let me squat down and hold my cell phone out(which was playing Elmo). She did a great job with the cut – even better than the place I used to go. The cut cost about $ 16 so it’s not as cheap as if you went to Great Clips. But at the end he got a prize and even though there were tears, there were less tears than I think I would have dealt with at a normal place. Overall it was a good experience. Not sure if we’ll be back because it was quite a drive but I’d certainly recommend it to others in the area.
