It’s nice to have a place in town to purchase products that are not readily available. I was able to run in at the last minute and purchase vegan peeps for my children’s Easter baskets. We do not eat too much fake meat but I have tried various items from the store. There is a small restaurant next door that serves veggie/​vegan items and they use the products sold in the grocery — so you can try before you buy.

Chesterton, IN
This is a small vegan/​vegetarian grocery store with a huge assortment of vegan meats, including Upton’s Naturals and Worthington, plus vegan cheese and marshmallows. I’m not super-​into fake meat, but it’s nice to have a place like this in Northwest Indiana when you’re looking for that kind of thing, and not have to drive into Chicago. I hope they stay open. It doesn’t seem like they’re doing much marketing and I doubt the vegetarian population of Chesterton alone is enough to support them.
