All the responses were correct had stained ceiling in our room as well. There is a fitness center but it is on the side of the breakfast room by the pool. The three pieces of machinery in there, elliptical treadmill and weight machine were all broken in some capacity so there might as well not been a room. Breakfast was usual fast food stuff. Better to go to Evergrain in town for coffee and pastries. Should be better here with Washington College a block away but very few choices in this rural town

Flies flies flies. There were flies everywhere. For me flies are an indication of a dirty establishment. Not just dirt but filth. Room size was as expected but dirty. Crumbs all over the floor and inside the pullout sofa bed. Missing smoke detectors. Holes in ceiling where previous cable TV lines were run. Bathroom was gross. Ceiling drywall was falling in. Shower controls were broken/stripped and was almost impossible to use. Tub would not drain. Hairs all over bathroom tile floor. Now for the positive. Breakfast was great. Plenty to choose from. Yes. That’s the only reason this place got even a single star.

Hotel was really nice and the service was good but the most memorable thing about this hotel was the coffee. It was horrid and undrinkable… absolutely awful. I had to pour mine out and go brush my teeth. I guess they are trying to save money by serving some sort of awful instant coffee from a machine. It was worse than bad

If the ceiling hadn’t been so crewed up it would have been fine. Fridge, microwave and coffee in room. Staff is nice and the room is clean other than the ceiling.

Okay, I probably should have done this 5 weeks ago, because this is my 5th Thursday I have stayed here… LOL!!! I’m not staying here because its a fantastic wonderful experience, but because it is the best deal in town. The rooms are clean and the place is quiet. On top of that the WiFi is decent; It will support streaming video from NetFlix and it connects just fine to my university’s on-line classroom environment. I have not experience what Paul says about smoke in a smokeless room. Randall is correct, there is no exercise room at this facility, but they do have an indoor swimming pool. Chestertown is a quaint little town to run through and if you start at College and run to Water street, then west to the park and come up Cross Street and left onto High Street, then right onto Morgnec Rd, and then right onto 213 and back to the college, its about 3.75 miles. They do advertise a hot breakfast, and I looked at it once… only once… and past it by. I’m not in the mood for flying saucer /Frisbee eggs and greasy sausage patties from Sysco Institutional Food Services. Oh yes, they do have the fresh hot waffle too. Along with that they have a toaster and an assortment of bread, English muffins, and cheap frozen bagels, as well as some fresh fruit. Instead I’ve been going to Ellen’s for good coffee and a fresh BLT w fried egg on toast sandwich. One word: BACON!!! Yum!!! LOL! While I would have liked a nicer hotel, and I doubt the Holiday Inn next door is much better, as Chestertown is far off the beaten path. Not exactly what you would call a tourism center. Washington college brings parents for visits. At the end of October will be Down Rigging of the Tall Ships in the Chester River.

The first room we stayed in was infested with ants by the window sill, so they let us move to another room. While the second room had a hint of smoke(although a smokeless hotel), we stuck around since the Holiday Inn next store was completely booked. Service was decent though and the room was pretty clean. Good amenities.

Very much like all the rest of the ‘brand named’ accommodations. Though this property a bit nicer, due to pleasant staff and reasonable price. Wi-Fi was not consistent, and exercise room was non-existent. But still good place to stop.
