I have ordered from here a few times. Every time I got really greasy and bland pizza. I never dined in but going here was not very inviting. The inside didn’t look clean and did not reassure me at all. I had a bunch of coupons for a free pizza and I tossed them out just because it didn’t seem worth while. Service was good but not spectacular. In the end, I wouldn’t recommend this place or their food to anyone. There is street parking on Ridgeland and the location isn’t bad. But too greasy and bland pizza when there are tons of better options around is not what I want for dinner.

Sadly, it seems, things have changed severely since I had been there, many times, a while ago. Here’s the review I would have given then: I’m pretty sure this is the place I used to go to back in the day-90’s… amazing thin crust, and probably stuffed. I now live in San Diego and the pizza here, no matter where the cooks come from, is always horrible! I’m pretty sure, like many owners believe, it’s the garbage water. Nick’s was one of the better places I have ever gotten pizza from, other than Pizza Pete(Pete’s Pizza), which has not existed since the 90’s. One of their delivery drivers, Ralph(Screwdriver), was always on the C.B. and every time I was ever in his car it smelled absolutely amazing! I really miss Il. pizza! Think I’ll start contacting some of those places and see if they can ship me some like another suburban place did…

I won’t lie… a very good pizza pie. But… been there twice and both times the police were there escorting someone out of the business. Two different waitresses with two different problems with the police having to show up. The last thing I need in life is grabbing some grub and having armed police officers escorting folks out of the restaurant while young waitresses/owners are dropping«F» bombs. Not exactly a relaxing wind down after a long day of work. DONOT go there regardless of TV reviews!

The food it’s self isn’t too bad, pizza taste like every other pizza in the Chicago land. however the place isn’t very clean and the staff/management isn’t friendly at all. Don’t waste your time

Not the greatest pizza out there. What gives my review only 1 star is the management for not acting towards the customers concerns. You should listen when a mistake on toppings was made and offer to correct the situation and for a place not to do anything means they don’t care.

Wow, could not believe the service I received tonight. I had a few good reviews of this place but what I experienced tonight will guarantee I will not go back to this place. Myself and my wife and two of our kids walked in this place around 6:10 pm and we kind of stood around a bit because we had been hoping that college football would be on and instead they had some cartoons on full blast. Thats ok if someone had requested it and there was a family there already with a couple of kids and we were wondering if they asked for the cartoons to be on. The waitress came up to us and asked with a bit of an attitude if we had a problem. I said no but unless this family had asked for cartoons could we put on the ND vs USC football game that me and the kids wanted to see. The waitress said I could ask them to change the channel, which kind of threw me for a loop because I thought I had just asked her to change the channel. Whatever, we ordered our food. 12 wings and a pizza. After a few minutes the waitress came down and told us that the game we wanted to watch didn’t start until 7 pm. I said no, the game starts at 6:30. She said the TV was up to the bartender and she had no control over it. I walked into the bar to talk to the bartender but found no bartender there. In the meantime, I had said good things about the pizza in previous reviews but this one was bad and soggy crusted. Not a good pizza at all and the wings were worse. Suddenly, TV changes over to TBS Cubs game preview as I am following the 6:30ND vs USC kickoff on my phone that I had told my waitress about. I got up once again and walked to the bar hoping to tell the bartender to change the channel but the bartender was obviously far too busy playing Bubble Witch or maybe Diamond dash on her phone to notice me. Maybe she was making FB friend requests I really couldn’t tell you but I do know she wasn’t watching who was standing at the bar. At this stage our pizza was eaten and I was still left with a beer or two in my pitcher and was hoping to see a little bit of the 7 – 7ND vs USC tie game. I think my only hope was with our waitress but since dropping off our bill she was nowhere to be found either. In closing, I really want to apologize to the staff at Nick’s Pizza. I know that despite being the only customer at the time I never should have gone to such extremes in asking if I could watch something on your TV. Also when you tell me the game doesn’t start until 7 I need to just listen to you despite the fact that I knew the game started at 6:30. I will never ask for such extreme requests again. My sincerest apologies. I do hope the owner reads these reviews though because the people he is hiring is destroying this business.

The best pizza hands down! Love their Monday specials for thin crust pizza. Their stuffed pizza is perfect. Just wish they would update to a computer system and remember my order !

A very good pizza for the south side. In my opinion much better than Vito and Nicks on Pulaski. Lived in Chicago all my life, north and south side. Have traveled extensively, NY, LA etc. and Nicks is in my top 5 nationally. Must try.

On Mondays they have half priced pizza, so we order every Monday. I hate pizza crust, but this place has thin crust that is so good, definitely my #1

For a little hole in the wall, this place has a great selection of soft drinks. I still haven’t been able to coax them to give me a menu yet, despite trying twice. Apparently the way to discover what they have is to call and make inquiries. If they have it, you can order it. If not, tough luck. The pizza has that nice thick salty-chewy cheese that supports the pizza’s structure and keeps it from slopping around. They put the toppings under the cheese here, which, while keeping the pie structurally sound for a longer trip, doesn’t let you see how much of the ever-popular salty meat topping you really got. But after eating their pizza, the pepperoni-per-inch ratio was satisfactory and the sauce was damn good. Decent crust too, a nice mix of crispy at the edge, chewy toward the middle. Good pizza, good soda, love that it’s across the street from my house.

This is my on the fly-quick I want pizza go to place. The sauce is really good and the thin crust is one of the best on the Southside. They have a great appetizer menu as well. As far as service goes I have picked up and had delivered, they are friendly and always nice. If yo are looking for good pizza this is a sure shot.

Love this pizza! I can’t comment on the dine-in experience, since we always get carry out, but this is one of my favorite pizza places for thin crust for sure. And you can’t beat the Monday night half-off special!

Stopped in for a quick lunch the other day. Pretty unimpressed. Started with the navy bean soup… needed a little salt and pepper, but plenty hot and all the makings for a decent soup. I went the Caesar Salad route for my main course… what a joke. Iceberg lettuce, croutons, some carrot slivers, and a couple quartered tomatoes. No different than your run-of-the-mill dinner salad. Croutons had a weird taste to them… not sure about their origin. My co-diners Italian Sausage sandwich was pretty weak too. Sauce mirrored something poured out of a can onto a pizza crust. The sandwich was dry and in serious need of a makeover. While we didn’t try their pizza, I find it hard to believe that their abilities constructing a pizza would be any different than those of their poorly executed salads and sandwiches. Can’t knock our server, she was very hospitable. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Nick’s isn’t the cleanest place, not the best looking but it is good. Whenever one of my friends is in town we always hit up Nick’s for the pizza and pitcher special. The service is quick and friendly. The pizza is delicious thin crust pie. It is really good and when you buy a pizza there is a pitcher specials, sorry I forgot the price. Highly recommend this place!

Great thin crust pizza — the sauce and cheese make a perfect combination. Almost reminds me of NYC pizza, my hometown, where the best pizza in the world is made, so that’s saying a lot! :) Excellent fried zucchini as well.
