Really a wonderful experience! The food was incredible, the presentation beautiful, the space warm and very artfully designed. We were introduced by some friends, but we really had no idea what to expect. A 17-course tasting menu for small groups(6 or less)? Who’d have thought? And the proprietors Ernest and John were wonderful. Like having a 3-star meal served by your best friends. Really a great experience! This«underground» experienced is a great change from all the other top restaurants in Chicago!

Évaluation du lieu : 5 Chicago, IL
Updated, I moved this review as it looks like Unilocal created a new page for this restaurant since it has relocated: Time tested, tried and true! We were lucky enough to discover this in it’s early stages and after a short hiatus from Chicago… we’re bbaaccckkk! My husband and I made 3157 a priority on our most recent trip back after moving away late last summer. I think we’re up to 4 dinners here now? Truly lucky indeed! While the location is new(much better layout and a larger space) the menu has evolved and is even more delightful than ever. Instead of 8 or 9 courses, the menu has expanded to around 16 – 18 small bite courses which range from sweet, to savory, to obscure but totally memorable! Definitely still the outside the box and creative experience you’re looking for if you’ve tired of all the other tasting menus or out-done gastronomy experiences this great city has to offer. Reservations at this point are a must, as the night we dined was a full house and from what I understand so were the weeks before and after on a Saturday. Highlights were cucumber gazpacho with«feta snow,» yukon potato and apple soup(this one is a mind meld!), and the edible kalamata«spongue.» All I have to say is… SPONGUE?! HOW??? Presentation is on point, service is over the top friendly where you feel like being served by long time friends or family… I have no negatives at this point. Still remains one of my favorite special dining spots in the city! See the original posting here:
