Stopped by 4 Yolks for brunch on our way home from Chicago. The menu was extensive with tons of options. The servings were big and the prices were reasonable. Everything tasted fresh and was very flavorful.

One of the best skirt steak breakfast i’ve had in a long time. Fast, friendly service. Great quality products served hot, fresh&tasty. The owner even gives everybody 10 percent discount if you pay cash. This place is a go to family oriented breakfast establishment and anything you order is on point. Give them a try and hit me up and let me know your experience you won’t regret it. They have fresh soups daily that are so good. Happy eating

Went on a Monday evening for breakfast. I had the banana caramel pancakes. Delicious but needed a bit more caramel sauce. It came with two eggs and bacon or sausage. My partner had the sausage omelette His eggs tasted better than mine. Also, the American fries(hash browns) need to be cooked a bit more. Each dish was about $ 8.00. Plenty of food. However, stay away from the chicken tenders — they were terrible.

Good food, good service and most reasonably priced breakfast in the area. They have an extensive menu and really an option for everyone. The parking lot is a bit tight but there is plenty of street parking.

This place cannot handle more than 4 tables at a time. We have been here several times and food was always good, but typically because we were about the only people in the place. This morning we went in and every table and booth were full, we did get seated quickly, that’s about the best thing that happened. As we looked at the menu we must have confused the coffee lady by not only asking for regular but decaf as well, she looked like a frog on the highway at night, just lost. We ordered, my wife ordered biscuits and gravy, I ordered eggs, bacon, pancakes and dry white toast, and our son ordered a turkey club no mayo with fries. We sit for 15 minutes or so and our server comes with my food and then informs us that they are out of biscuits and gravy, I ask her why we weren’t informed of that before the other food was brought, she claimed she was just told. The pancakes I was served were over cooked, the dry white toast I ordered, but had to remind the server to bring was moist, how can dry toast be moist? The fries my son had were basically raw, the sandwich itself was dry. He had to ask twice for a second orange juice. Then the check came, $ 27.34, when I went to pay and was asked how everything was I detailed everything for the hostess, her response was«Well we are very busy, some people understand that and some don’t» basically telling me I don’t understand what busy is. She said«I will give you a discount» and took $ 3.00 off the bill…$ 3.00, yippie! That $ 3.00 will be used at a different restaurant next time because we will not be back here.

What a great place! Family-oriented and family owned; one of the things that is important to me when I patronize restaurants. On my way to visit a relative this early Sunday morning, my husband and I decided to stop for a bite just before going to our visit. We pulled into a few places on our route and they were all full and with the limited time our options were running slim until we drove past 4Yolks. We found a parking spot and once inside we were immediately seated. The place was ¾ full which was a good sign. I decided to order something different than the traditional eggs plate. They had a cinnamon swirl sandwich with eggs, your choice of meat, cheese, and a side of hash browns. You can see it is all fresh and made from scratch. It was delicious! Fresh coffee and attentive service also sold us on coming back for sure! Gracias, 4Yolks! We’ll be back!

My wife and I went there on a Sunday. The restuarant was crowded and we sat down. Then we waited and waited for service. We kept flagging somebody, but nobody came. finally we did get service, food was good ant the manager apologized and gave us our meal at half price. I would go back, but apparantly they can’t or don’t know how to handle a crowd.

I’m kind of torn with this review. On one hand I enjoyed the meal and walked out full. The bread was fresh, the veggies were fresh, onions on my Philly style steak sandwich were… again fresh. So far so good. The meat was OK, not good and not bad. Overall, it looked and tested like a fajita on a piece of white bread. And that’s where the problem lies. The food is good, not too greasy(which is not common nowadays!), but it’s plain. The person I was with commented that nothing was original and I think he hit the nail on the head. The food’s good, it’s just not original. I’m not saying that every dish has too be something new and original but too plain isn’t good either. Having said this — would I come back? Yes, just only if I were in the area. I wouldn’t make a special trip.

This place surpassed my expectations for a small local diner. The food was fresh and amazing and the staff accommodated my party of 8 and let us enjoy a 2 hour lunch without hurrying us. The San Diego Sunrise platter was brilliant(I got it sans hollandaise sauce) and came with a chopped steak topped with two eggs, fresh tomato slices and avocado, and three potato pancakes. Everybody liked their food. They delivered the 8th meal pretty late but the food quality and friendly service outpaced the slack. The Unilocal check in offer was a nice suprise. The coffee is mediocre diner standard. The menu was very affordable.

A low key spot, friendly waitress. This place caught my eye because of the location and after looking the reviews up on Unilocal I figured I give it a try. I ordered the chipotle skillet and I was not that impressed. The tomatoes in the skillet were bigger than the pieces of steak. It seemed like they cut a skirt steak in half and then cut that into tiny little pieces. Pros Staff Menu options Price Cons Quality Just not up to standards when it comes to breakfast spots for me. If you’re in the area take the time to check out Blossom Café, the première breakfast spot in the area. Cheers,

My experience at 4 yalks today(tuesday morning) was the worst experience ever — talking about service in this place! I’m writing my first review on Unilocal because it was that bad. Me and my kids were the only table there! Waitress took the order. Later she place our food on the table and that’s was all. She never ask me if we need anything else. I have to go and take silverware from another table. I have to get her attention to get refill of coffee and ask for water. The way she look at me … OMG . I’m experience waitress Working at the breakfast place! I always tip great 25−35% Because I know how this girls making money. Today for the first time I tip $ 2 Out of $ 27 Sorry but you need to be nice and take care of your customers. I feel bad for this place. Food is really good Place it small and nice. They should hire some nice girls with personality. I’m sure they will have much more business then!

This morning I went to church at St Ferdinand for a mass in memory of my mother in laws death anniversary. My wife, her 2 brothers, sister in law and niece decided to go to breakfast/brunch afterwards. We found 4 Yolks on Harlem Ave just south of Diversey Ave. It’s a small restaurant That is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was a pretty good crowd of people inside. Nice interior and clean. We started to peruse the menu and found a very large selection of meal items for anytime of the day. Everything to Mexican to American cuisine. I ended up selecting the Huevous Ranchero as I had a taste for Mexican food. This came with corn tortillas. My wife got a fajita skillet. When the food came and we started eating we decided to swap. They were decent size portions very reasonably priced, but really didn’t have anything noteworthy. The waitress however was awesome. She never missed a beat even though she was serving a number of tables. I heard people asking her for 4 things @ 3 tables and she promptly went and got what the customers wanted. Stellar performance 5+ Food 3

Good decent breakfast nearby. I tried the chilaquiles, at first they looked a little pale so I’m thinking oh no, bland, canned, who knows! Actually very surprised they were very tasty and not spicy(which I like) and just asked for a side of homemade salsa. The skillets are also good. They ran out turkey sausage which made me sad.

I am always pleased with the food and service. Today I am having a chorizo ommellete and two small pancakes. In the past I have had their Oahu’s sandwich, very delicious.

I like this place. Plain old neighborhood spot. Do not blink or you will miss it! Service good. Food good. May try her for a meal other than breakfast. Raisin French toast was okay. I prefer the bacon and eggs.

I’ll be short with my review here. Food 3⁄5; Service 2⁄5; Facility 4⁄5. They try to keep it clean, well organized, but is doesn’t work. No silver at the table, butter for the toast is frozen, no jam. Some tables were left dirty even though it wasn’t even busy. Coffee is so watery that you don’t want refill. American potatoes are dry, appearance of the food is okay. I’ll try it one more time in a month, and i will update my review. Hope it will change for better, especially the service.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch for my sisters birthday a total of 5 of us and a child. The place is fairly small and doesn’t have much room to accommodate large groups. MYVERYFIRSTIMPRESSION I would have to say was walk out. The place was somewhat busy not to the point were I felt it was ok that were not acknowledged when we walked in. NO hello no wait here and there aren’t any signs to wait anywhere. So I was a little pissy when I wasn’t greeted as we stood there looking like dear in headlights. We managed to seat ourselves in a table large enough for us 5 and the waitress came back and just asked what we wanted to drink. Not the most warm welcome but however we did not leave and continued to explore the menu. I ordered a meat skillet with over easy egg and it wasn’t too bad. Food was cooked to order but I wasn’t impressed but I also didn’t think it was horrible. Everyone at the table did enjoy there food and it came out in a timely manner and the portions were pretty large. I may think about coming back to this place because it’s so close to home, but they need some serious work with their customer service and this place will be in great shape!..
