This is one of the larger 7-Eleven’s in the city. Always packed. Always a line. Always panhandlers that swarm the building. I go here for the cheap pizza they always have. Its your ordinary convenience store.

Wow, came to this location to get my usual morning cup of coffee @ around 8:30 am, and to my surprise given the time all of the coffee dispensers were practically empty! So I notify an employee and she assures me there’s still coffee in the dispenser so I had to empty them in front of her so she could understand that the leftovers only filled about a quarter of the cup and the coffee that came out looked stale and it was lukewarm! Whatever… So I said I would wait for them to fill the dispenser, the employee goes and tells another employee to make it, she obviously didn’t know how to because she was instructing her fellow employee the whole time, it’s really frustrating when people learn on your time especially if you’re in a hurry like everyone else in line staring at me and the employees with that hurry the f*** up look on their face, the cherry on top was when I was handed the very first cup that filled the dispenser and it was like battery acid on crack, I looked at her like REALLY?! I SAID I WOULDWAIT! She could’ve taken care of other people in the mean time, so at that point I didn’t want to make people wait any longer and felt awkward for I can see that they were just as frustrated as me. I Never had this problem at any other location, and all the while one of the employees kept sweeping like that was the most important thing at the time :-s anyway never again, at least for coffee…

I come here usually to grab snacks and drink before heading to the train, but I like how most of the 7-Eleven locations have the Belly IPad so you can log your points each time you buy something. I have a problem with how the homeless congregate outside the store and if you don’t give them change you’re subjected to cursing and other abusive tyrades from crazy nuts that you need to really steer clear from. It’s these idiots who are going to hurt this business because nobody should have to be subjected to abusive and profane language from when they are coming out of the store and nobody is obligated to give change to a panhandler. The store is pretty clean with items kept stocked, but a couple times I came the belly IPad wasnt working. I started using the Belly card about 5 years ago and it’s been a useful tool ever since. Again… be careful around this area because since the demolition of Cabrini Green the homeless and ghetto elements have been making its way to the gold coast and near the Northwestern University campus. As usual the store is run by Indians or Arabs depending on the location you go to, but at this location it’s run by Indians. I don’t know why the owners of this particular location don’t get the police involved to clear the front of their business with the homeless congregating there harassing customers. I only come there for specifics and nothing more.

Standard 7-Eleven. No Fun Dip :(but very clean. It can be high traffic in here sometimes but they handle it well.
