I will never be going back here. They barely spoke English and refused to trim my toe nails short. I play soccer I don’t want long toenails that hurts. They then preceded to give me used sandals to put on to walk around the salon while they dried and then would not let me leave with them even though I only had a block to go home so I was forced between walking bare foot or putting my sneakers back on which ruined the pedicure. Waste of Money and Time!

this place is great for what it is: a no nonsense, get down to business mani/pedi joint. i’ve been there a few times for pedis and the girl who does them is super super sweet. she doesnt talk your ear off, yet is very personable. they have fun, different nail colors, and my pedis always last forevvvveeerrr. my girlfriends are amazed when i tell them i got my feet done a month ago! and this coming from a chica who does plenty of walking/biking in her sandals. did i mention the pedis are only 25?! if all this sounds up your alley, i highly advise stopping by!

Formerly known as L’Amour Nails & Spa, Amy’s Nails is a great asset to have in the neighborhood. They offer other spa services, but I can only vouch for the nail services. This is a no-frills nail place that gets the job done. They’ve got your basic selection of Essie &OPI nail polish and the staff is very friendly and sweet. I do however wish that they did a better job of keeping up with the latest collections of nail polish, but I usually just bring my own in any way for hygienic reasons. For those of you who came here in the«L’Amour» days, the service was extremely slow — to the point where you would need well over an hour just for a simple manicure & upwards of 2 hours for a mani/pedi. If this turned you off, the staff is a little faster now, without sacrificing quality so I suggest you give them another shot. Their communication skills are also better too, so you can more easily get across what you want done. I’ve never made an appointment, and have not had to wait too long as a walk-in either. Do note however that in the winter they close on Mondays. Overall, you can’t beat a high quality mani & pedi for $ 35(although it used to be $ 32 back when it was L’Amour). My nails can go well over a week without chipping, no missed spots & I like supporting this local business since they are so friendly(although recently I’ve tried to do my own nails to save some cash). Recently several other nail places have sprung up in the area — I hope this place survives!

It was sisters Saturday, so me and my best bud decided to walk around and browse the neighborhood shops. Got the brows done, stopped for coffee, bought a brain book and got a manicure. I really could of done without the last part of our adventure. It was $ 12 for a mani which is way OK, but it seemed that as soon as the dad with the 3 kids who all wanted a pedi came in(note $ 25 per = $ 100 vs $ 12 per = $ 24) our techs tried to hurry up to take care of them. So what do I get? I botched nail job. A 5 yr old could of done better. When I pointed it out to them that several nails looked as if they were painted more than a week ago with the nail grown out, the original tech wanted to take off the polish to start over again. The pipsqueak(owner) said no, it looks fine. So I said, no it doesn’t! So the pip pushes the original tech out of the way to «fix» it. All she did was paint over the 4 coats of polish with another 2 coats so that the 4 coats below the 2 new coats are TOTALLY visible. It looks as if I decided to paint over some old nail polish cause I’m too lazy to remove the old polish… very unprofessional! I shouldn’t of tipped but it wasn’t 100% my techs fault, she tried to make amends, it was the owner that screwed it up. I wouldn’t go back if they offered it up for free.

32 bucks for a full mani/pedi… the polish stood the test of time with no severe chipping at least a week and beyond… it was snowy so I had socks & shoes, the girl put baggies on my feet to protect the toe polish, put on my socks for me even! as well as put on & tied my shoes and zipped my jacket. Nice service, I felt she cared about taking care of me and my new polish. Manicurist constantly tweaked missed spots without me having to say: «You missed a spot there»… way to pay attention to detail! For all you ladies giving places a bad rating because they weren’t fast enough: I am not alone when I say quality is more important than a rush job. After all, if NOONE else is there so you get served first, what is that really saying about a place? Put your«me first» attitudes aside and use Unilocal for the intended purpose — judge the results.

Okay, I wish I could have given this place zero stars. Based on the reviews, I went there at noon today for my first salon pedicure in well over a year. Even took note of the language issue. Well, when I walked in, there were two customers and three operators. I asked for a pedicure, saying I just needed to be out by 1:30 for another appointment. The only people who understood me were the two customers. After patiently trying to rephrase my request in several different ways, the closest I got was a request to write down my name on the pad for a 1:30 appointment. The other two operators looked up as I tried to make myself correctly understood but neither said anything. This really saddened me. I’m all for diversity but, to run a business in Lincoln Square, I don’t think it’s too much to ask that at least one employee be able to communicate with customers, as well as fellow employees — most especially the person greeting you at the door. I was really hoping to have a good nail salon within walking distance of my home. Instead, I’ll take the bus/train to Vi’s.

It had been a full year since my previous pedicure(major botched job at Super Nails with a bonus nail infection). This place was quiet, clean and very affordable($ 32 dollars for a full mani/pedi). The pedicure was gentle even with all the work my feet needed(I’m super sensitive). I’m pretty sure they went over my cuticles twice… didn’t know my body could regenerate them so quickly. Big TV to keep you entertained and even the added bonus of disco lighting in the foot soak. Just a word of warning — avoid all large beverages before or during your manicure/pedicure. The process took over 2 hours… if you know what I mean.
