Atelier Mimi Gallery

The artwork is nice but I received an odd feeling from the staff and the gallery seemed to be falling apart pretty much everywhere. The «french market» in the back was just made it look outright filthy. I questioned the credibility of this gallery/​artist so I went home and did my research. I tried to look up the artist and couldn’t find any credible information on her. I looked up all the recent art festivals in Chicago and her name was nowhere to be found — surprising since I was told that she is the «it» Chicago artist… «the first to paint Chicago in this way». The stuff is nice, but for the $$$ (even at the so-​called discount which they are always offering) you can do much better. I recommend doing your research on this one… definitely seems suspicious to me. Good luck.

Gallery is going out of business and they are shipping all of the products to paris because «mimi» is going to be taking a break for a year… I found the store very delightful and right now everything is practically 50−75% off. I don’t know how much the other reviewer, Sam, paid, but for any piece of authentic artwork, you are going to be paying more. Go quickly as all the artwork is going to be gone soon!

I went to this nice little gallery tonight on the Art View trolley tour. Affordable, attractive art. The acrylics are bright and bold and priced well enough to take one home or buy one as a gift. Good customer service, too!
