Bakers square is a chain restaurant but this location is my absolute favorite to have breakfast in. The breakfast food is exceptional and service is very very very attentive. The manager never fails to make his rounds to ask how your meal is, and he’s honestly interested. The wait staff are all awesome. I’ve been to a lot of fancy hot spot brunch places in Chicago but somehow this chain location seems to leave them all in the dust.

We had Ryan as our server, and he was phenomenal. Not only did he patiently answer our questions, he suggested substitutions so we could eat what we wanted. He is very courteous and funny, and absolutely made our visit. Thank you for the great service, Ryan. We will definitely be back and ask for you.

Terrible customer service. Wasn’t that busy and waited 10 min for a side of mustard and mayo. Patty melt is the best around but only if you eat it warm. Chicken avocado melt came with chicken that didn’t taste fully done and the size of the chicken was less then half a half piece of bread.

I feel so compelled to write this, that I am doing so waiting for our check. I was expecting it to be crowded, it is a Sunday afternoon after all. The bottom line is, it wasn’t that busy and the service is beyond horrible. The waitress seemed like she had a chip on her shoulder. I would like to tell her, she should switch careers. We waited over 15 minutes just for our order to be taken, and another 40 for the food to come out. She gave me decaf coffee, when I asked for regular. I can keep going, but I will just stop here. I can promise you that I will never come back to this location, and that is saying a lot since my love for French silk pie is unconditional. Get better Bakers Square, start with managing your restaurant and employees better.

3.5 Cozy interior. Came Labor Day Monday at 3pm. Floors pretty unswept/vacuumed. Server was friendly, but didn’t come by too often. Food was pretty good, with some misses. I ordered a chicken avocado melt, which came with mushrooms and sour cream. It was tasty, but the mushrooms had a sauce that soaked through the bread and made it very soggy. The fries were completely forgettable. I didn’t even plow through 25% of it. Tried with both ketchup and ranch. There was really no saving it. The cream of tomato basil soup was surprisingl every good. Good a mount of sodium. Complex base. Definitely did not get flavor boredom here. For dessert, I had the hazelnut silk pie. Uhm… it’s NUTELLA!!! I usually always get the french silk, but had to try this out. It was a win. I love that it wasn’t overpoweringly sweet… although I still had to share the piece, and even with help, couldn’t conquer it. Definitely good for a splurge, but even then, it’s a splurge I’m only willing to take rarely.

Until the age of ten, I associated Baker’s Square with the smell of cigarette smoke because the smoking and nonsmoking sections were essentially one and the same. Since then, a lot has changed. Indoor smoking is banned. The table arrangements have led to a more spacious floor. The restaurant looks bright. Management has gone through many changes. Even the menu seems new to me now. I hadn’t been to Baker’s Square in years because I found it depressing and the food subpar. I came here with my mom recently for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress, Rebecca, was attentive and polite and the food was actually good. I got a great chicken avocado sandwich. The assistant manager also helped my mom decide on the best slice of pie since she’s diabetic and needs to limit her carb intake. I used to come here just about every week as a child and now it seems like a very different restaurant. It’s still a place for senior citizens to posse up, but it doesn’t overwhelm me with a sense of dread the way it used to. Between the service, the new décor, and the menu, I won’t object to going here anymore. I’m glad I gave it another chance.

Amazing that this place is open til midnight. The service is great usually but the last time I was there it was kind of slow. Food was tasty and the pie at the end was super delicious as always! They have so many different kinds of pies on display when you walk in, yum!

Service was below par… I felt like I was in the movie The Steppford Wives… From the hostess to the waitress is was all a fake. I will be back when pigs fly…

The service and food are both fabulous! I ordered the Ultimate mac and cheese. It was the best I’ve ever had at any restaurant! It arrived at my table warm and creamy and wasn’t dry at all like at most places. I also ordered the lemon merengue pie to go and it was great! The waitress was very attentive. She also told me about free pie on Wednesday with any food purchase. Spectacular restaurant!

I personally like Baker Square over IHOP so I go to this location for breakfast. They have good customer service. The manager on duty always acknowledges the customers. I love the strawberry crepes or the pick four special. Huge parking lot which is a plus you can always find parking and a table right away.

Pleasant experience. I had breakfast with my mom on Sunday(May 31st). The manager was very attentive. Our server, Stephanie, was very sweet and polite. The breakfast was delicious! The restaurant is also very clean and it’s so cozy from the inside.

Went here with my sisters and have never experienced such bad service. We could not even get our waters refilled, however the Caucasians next to us had the waitress as their service. The food was fine, not bad but not very memorable. However due to the lack of service, I would never return.

«Baker’s Square is so under appreciated», said my boyfriend as we pulled into the dreary parking lot. «It’s actually pretty good», he added. And it was decent, compared to similar places in this category. Particularly the ones in the area. My food did not wow me, but was alright. The pecan pie, however, was pretty darn outstanding. Service wasn’t great. Our waitress disappeared quite a few times.

I ordered the strawberry crepes, which were delicious and done perfectly. I love the service. We were seated very promptly and ask us if we will like something to drink. I wanted some coffee, the waitress brought me back a cup and a Carafe with more coffee and extra creams and sugar. My son order the Mickey Mouse pancakes with bacon. Pancakes were nice an fluffy. Will definitely go back.

way over priced. i go there with 3 people and we spend 50 $ for basic food and pie. i have been twice and the next time im just gonna go for their pie ** by the way my apple pie with ice cream basicly came flat. pies should be standing up. not falling off the plate. it tasted good but looked awful.

It’s Baker’s Square, all around alright food, and pies! However, the service was horrible, didn’t get refills, and got the wrong pie initially. The waitress seemed intent on avoiding us, which is a sucky feeling to get as a customer.

What is there not to like about Bakers Square? The food can best be summed up in one word and four letters: IHOP-Dennish. The food there is what you can call your typical American diner grub although, their variety is a lot more refreshing than that of an IHOP or Denny’s and, just like its national franchise counterparts, Bakers Square offers breakfast anytime. The best thing about Bakers Square is the one thing that those other guys don’t offer, namely, a slice of pie with any entrée. What? That’s right, you get a 3 course meal for the same comparably priced meal at IHOP or Denny’s, and we ain’t talking about just apple pie either, let’s see, there’s cherry pie, strawberry pie, pumpkin pie, peach cobbler, oreo pie, pecan praline pie… I’ll stop right now because I’m starting to sound like Bubba Gump when he was describing shrimp to Forrest. If you’re looking for a fairly quick bite to eat and don’t mind pie(what are you, a Nazi? Who doesn’t like pie?) Go check out Bakers Square.

Pie is decent, slices are small(or my expectations are too high) I would go back if I got a coupon. Oh, and wednesday is free slice night(with any purchase)
