I was referred by a relative and could not be happier with the end result! My claddagh ring was badly damaged and needed repair. Not only did Ballyea fix the ring, but they made it look brand new upon pick up! Further, the owners are extremely kind hearted and so knowledgeable. They are also extremely fair, to the point that they advised me against a more expensive reinforcement fix as it would likely damage the ring despite the easy opportunity to charge me more. Highly recommend.

Bernadette and her husband have been in the industry for 25 years. Experts in celtic jewelry as well as engagement and wedding bands. She designed and hand crafted my fiancé’s ring in a short time frame at a very fair price than other jewelers. Shes one of a kind! Very personable and will get you the best deal on diamonds. Family oriented and felt very comfortable through the whole design and purchase. Accommodating for delivery. I will return for our wedding bands. Wow, IMPRESSED, is the word that comes to mind when I think of this place. My fiancé surprised me with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen made and designed by Bernadette, the owner of this amazing establishment. He said her selection of diamonds, communication and ability to truly implement and create the exact ring he described was a breeze and, honestly, almost uncanny! It’s also pretty apparent she’s an ace given that my ring is the most gorgeous thing ever. Her knowledge and guidance also helped him feel comfortable with the design and stone selection as well, which is important to a guy who knows little about things like jewelry. I will 100% be going back to visit with Bernadette and Gary to make any future pieces that need a unique and personal twist. I highly recommend using them for your customized needs too. Also, take a look at some of their premade pieces too. Those are pretty darn special too!

Bernadette designed and created both my engagement ring and wedding band back in mid 2000. My fiancé at the time showed her a few ideas of designs and styles that I liked. She hit it out of the park. The rings are gorgeous and breathtaking! The rings are going on 5 years and they look as great as the first day I saw and received them. She is a wonderfully talented artist and jeweler and I’m thrilled with the jewelry pieces that she has created. I would defintely go back to purchase other jewelry from her and recommend her highly.

I am overjoyed. My mom gave me my Grandmother’s engagement ring a couple of years ago, and I gave it to Bernadette at Ballyea to refashion into a pendant for me. I just got it last week and I was thrilled. Already wore it to two Christmas events.
My camera phone was lousy, but you can still see the beauty. It flows and I got a million compliments this weekend.
The best part was how easy it was to work with Bern. I visited the store and we talked through design options, measured my neck so the chain would be the right length and picked out — from photos — the look I hoped for. What I got was more than I even dreamed of .a custom design in less than three weeks. Spirit and art and love and tradition!!!

My fiancé had Bernadette custom make my beautiful engagement ring back in July. I used to work at a custom jewelry store on Wabash, and I trusted my fiancé to pick a great, reputable artist himself.
He showed Bernadette a picture of a vintage ring I have always raved about and she took it from there! I love how she was able to incorporate a lot of the vintage look I was going for, but yet make it very unique and special for my taste.
Not only do I love the design of my ring, but I love the quality of it as well. The center stone is so clear and it shines from every angle. I worked with custom jewelry for 2 years and have never seen such a stunning center stone.
I could not be happier with my fiancé’s choice to go to Ballyeah Jewelry to have Bernadette and her staff make my engagement ring. I will post pictures so you can see the gorgeous ring for yourself. Thanks again Bernadette :)

Ballyea Designs can be beautiful but Communication and Customer Service is lousy!
We asked Bernadette, the owner and designer to custom design an engagement ring for us. We gave her all the designs, she said she would be working on sketches.
The next thing we hear is «Your ring is ready», NO approval of the sketches, NO approval of the stone, NO Communication just hear it is!
An engagement ring is something you will have forever! And if a Custom design is being made, you the Paying client should be able to approve it! Luckily the ring was beautiful, the designs were not exactly what we asked for, then again there was never any dialogue after the initial conversation. We let that go, gave her «Artistic License» After we received the ring in a gorgeously carved wooden box we noticed the Prongs were catching on everything, my hair, the cat and not to mention the clothing that is snagged beyond repair! After having a Reputable Local Jeweler look at the ring through a loop we find out the stone was not set level. We called Bernadette and told her about the prongs, and the stone being miss-​set she acted insulted. I understand as an artist she takes pride in her work, apparently not a lot of pride or she would have seen the stone was set wrong. After she was done being offended, she agreed to fix the ring.
So we sent her an email, asking her NOT to melt down the First Ring, b/​c if she needed to re-​carve a new ring we were concerned that the ring would not look the same. We also asked for Palladium not Nickel to be used in the white gold, we offered to pay for the new gold since we were asking her to essentially have two of the same ring to be approved upon inspection. So What happened… «Your ring is ready» No Communication, no phone call, no return email NADA! So we have the new Ring, she melted the old one BEFORE we could compare them, she used Nickel not Palladium b/​c after all she just melted the first one and re-​used what we asked her not to use!
So the New Ring with out Prong settings is set crooked, and one side is higher than the other and the carvings are not as good as the first time around!
At this point I’m Done with Ballyea and Bernadette! I will find a jeweler that knows what they are doing. It is a shame because she has some artistic talent but her settings stink, Her Customer service is non-​existent and Communication is a word she needs to look up in the dictionary!
Good Luck to anyone who tries for a Custom Design! My advice Buy a pre-​made ring, but inspect it carefully.
